    funny i have some small springs and a gutted motor with it's magnets lying around here if you want to build a spare gun edit: for the sake of keeping some semblance of on-topicness ordered some maple magazine springs, hopefully should get my midcaps feeding good because i really dont wanna have to shell out for epm's just to use in 1 gun.....

      @Rogerborg the Titan and Warfet are very different beasts.

      The Warfet relies on timing and power control where the Titan runs optical sensors. Mechanical reliability is about the same as I have seen both units fail regardless of age or usage.

       

      Although the warfet precocking works ok the Titans will be better as it counts gear teeth which is more reliable. Also the titans trigger sensor is something the warfet can match as it is just a plug in unit.

       

      The only thing I will say is if it fails the warfet is easier to replace so for none tech minded it is easier and cheaper. For competent people the titan is easy as takes less than an hour to fit to most gearboxes.

       

      Other than that sorry got to disagree with Luke as would pick Titan everytime.

      Ofc the other downside to the titan is it doesnt fit some of the more niche boxes, im still hoping they'll figure out a v6 version.

    i've heard this business of tm slides breaking, but after 2 years of running .4's and black gas on my hicapa it still has yet to cause the miniature singularity the internet has informed me it would. bearing in mine said hicapa was at least third hand when i got it.

    Only ever worked on their m60, and while its bad it's very amenable to being tdc'd with minimal effort. Both fair points, after all i use my 10" m4 carbine more like a sniper rifle than a door kicker. I suppose i can talk, i have meddled with mg hops before, mostly for reason 2.

    i've always wondered why people bother with hop upgrades on a support gun, it's not like you're going to be running heavy ammo through it or really care about minute of angle accuracy so why expend the money?

    possibly it's just the original hicap going with the gun, and any mids he has he's keeping for other guns?

    that's a good point, i've always found it a kind of meh handgun, nothing particularly bad about it, a lot is quite good especially in context, but it's just not exciting. it's like owning a vw golf, it's not bad, but it's not going to impress anybody either.

    Hmm, maybe soon time to replace the king arms reciever, anyone reccommend somewhere to look for decent reciever sets? Feels kind of wasteful to buy a whole gun only to gut the internals and replace most of the furniture.

      I have an E&C Colt engraved receiver set and I have to say it's rather lovely (especially for the cost).

      yeah it looks very similar to the king arms one i have, well, at least what the king arms was like several years ago.

       

      just ordered one, was mighty tempted to add some other shiny's but sadly funding isn't infinite at the moment.

       

      shame he doesn't have barrel nut shims, those seem to be like hens teeth to find.

    Well, will have to see how the new sling mount on the m4 holds, but at least i found a use for the hicapa rail.....

      it's more that carbon is not a good material for bolting things onto, i'm kinda worried the wrong shock load is going to just rip the bolts out.

       

      problem is there's nowhere else decent to mount the front of a 2 point on an m4.
