anyone know where one could find some nice wooden grips for a we makarov?
-
I am afraid to say that there no mainstream airsoft manufacturers who currently make wood grips for the WE Makarov the close you could get is the brown Fakelite these ones here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WE-Brown-Grip-For-WE-Makarov-GBB-Series-WE0557-/281684074973
You could try to find surplus wood grips for the Makarov but I do not think there were many (if at all) that actually, real steel pistols manufactured that would have had the wood grips.
The American gun/surplus stores might have some but most properly will not ship to the UK.

See that blue dude? He got nothin on me son, nothin...

urgh, dreading sunday, it's last chance saloon for this site and i'm expecting the perfect storm of cheaters, speedsofters and inneffective marshals.
sadly it's the only decent outdoor site left that doesnt require a 6am start to get to.

escarmouche, tis in ni, i'll maybe write a review depending on how it goes. it's a shame because it's got so much potential if they put a bit of effort into properly marshalling the place, they've got a good thing going but the last 4 sessions it's been the same story of people not taking hits descending into anarchy, and a session shouldn't be something to dread.
still, hope springs eternal, i'm not the only one who feels this way and we're going to let them know it's one last chance to see some pro-active game control.

just ghillied up the frontend of the m4, although i'm worried it might have angered the gods of reliable gearboxes....
-
today went well, turns out m4 had just dropped a motor connection rather than a dead etu, and i've made a beast out of that aksu merely by fitting a delayer chip and removing the recoil
-
so, now i have an aksu, high speed build anyone?

Well this is going to be more my "so you wont take your hits eh?" Gun for when the m4, f2000, m203 and mg42 have failed to provide sufficient persuasion.
Also because its tiny and light.
Tis a jg recoil one, but the recoil will be the first thing coming out of it, needs a delayer chip but otherwise it's already a decent wee hose.
Although considering the potential to half stroke it and trade a little accuracy for a swarm of angry bees

urgh, so it looks like the p90 tappet plate is about 2.5mm too long overall for the f2000, as the nozzle when fully back is sitting too far forward.
might actually have to cut the nozzle which i'd kind of hoped i'd be able to avoid.....
-
well, the f2000's semi auto problem is the cutoff lever is worn, although no idea about the feeding as it looks like the tappet plate is pulling the nozzle back as far as it'll go
-
well, the ascu is now working great, but the bolt catch button isn't working so i can't program it to ignore the bolt catch. it's a catch 22.....
-
my m4 is now working again! only took rummaging through a box of cutoff levers to find the one singular one that had the correct throw and length for the etu.
so much for using the included parts and it'll work.....
-
well, went out with 1 broken gun, came back with 3.
no i don't really understand how it happened either.....
-
Well, wee session tomorrow, place your bets now- will the f2000 feed or will i be scrounging a gun?
-
welp, mg42's reciever is bent. dis gon'b fun to fix....
-
great day's airsofting, couple of spoilsports but mostly grand. f2000 still isnt feeding though.
however, new belt rig worked out pretty well, nice lightweight alternative.
-
Hmm, starting to think perhaps the sig might be nearing retirement, great gun but its really starting to show its age.
Wonder what i should replace it with
-
i should write a book "when springs go sproing: a tale of one man and his mission to avoid having to crawl around under tables"
i think i could rival the brothers karamazov for page count.
-
well, today's bi-monthly redesign of load carrying rig has revealed the viper pouches i've had for years had a second velcro adjustment so i can actually fit my speedloader in one. which is great because it gives me much more room over the double pouch i was using.
-
Well, the f2000 is sort of feeding now, tappet plate was just a little tight so sanded it a tad, hopefully should wear in a bit easier with use.
Debating selling the luger for a mauser because shoulder stock
And finally the "whats on your mind" box seems to still be playing sillybuggers.
Oh, and i bought an mr2
Long status update lol
Like really long
Ok now i'm just taking the mick

I would imagine version 6 gearboxes are shimmed like tight version 3's. Where you shim the box like normal making a note of the shim count either side of every gear. Then just take the tappet and sector with the other side of the gearbox and work out how many shims need to move to that side for the tappet to run free. Then make that adjustment to the other gears and check it's all running nice. It does mean you get some funky pinion engagement at times but it's normally decent enough that it's not going to cause problems.

well, the mg's back on form, kind of annoying that it shoots so well on .3's, i don't have the budget to feed her that!
-
well, game on tomorrow and the only working gun is the mg42.
oh what a terrible life i'm leading....

definately a good idea man, support guns offer a completely different kind of fun when you can do actual suppressive fire and hold an entire team at bay.
most fun i've ever had airsofting was when i borrowed a mate's m60, only time i've seen people blatantly not taking hits and not got annoyed about it because i'd killed them about 20 times per person and i sympathised with the hopelessness of their plight.
admittedly you can get the same effect with an arp9 and a drum mag for the same weight as just the stock on the mg, but there's something so satisfying about having a freaking massive gun.
