  1. I did play this Sunday, was muddy but it wasn't raining. Had some serious fun, although my gun wasn't behaving properly as shots were going everywhere but where I aimed (I later found out that the barrel had two nasty scratches on the inside for some reason). In one instance I was aiming at one player but hit the guy 2 metres to his left Overall a good day, hits were called, laughs were had.
  2. B6AC clone for €15. I could have spent more on the real deal, but not knowing how to tell it apart from clones I didn't want to risk being scammed to shit
  3. The cylinder is made of brass, which is a really soft metal to begin with. The butt plate (the shaft where the handle slides on) is simply pinned to the cylinder. With use the pins enlarge the holes in the cylinder and eventually it'll just come off. This happened to me with a SP100 spring within 100 rounds, others had theirs snap off instantly. Plus the thing is so rough to pull and push back in battery. You'll start to notice the handle wobbling a bit at first, then more wobble and finally it'll break. I recommend buying a steel cylinder (either latest gen one piece or the two piece with welded pins from Ares. Action Army also makes a really good cylinder for the striker). On mine (AS-02) I have changed the hop up arm with a 3d printed one, changed the barrel to an AA 6.03x300mm steel, changed the piston and spring guide with AirsoftPro ones, cut the SP100 down to get it below 1J (my national regulation lol), swapped hop rubber for a Maple Leaf MR-Hop 50° and changed the trigger for a @Samuraione. I also have a Samurai's straight pull handle which I put on and off depending on how I feel. Plus I've filled all the empty spaces with cotton wool/foam and machined a suppressor from the standard 14mm CCW to the 23mm CW thread of the barrel, this way I don't need an adapter to mount a suppressor on. Shoots nice and straight, reaches up to 65/70 metres on 0.3s (at 0.92 Joules)
  4. Out of curiosity, where did you get that drop stock adapter?
  5. Ares has 300mm outers available for sale. I mentioned buying a 02 because along with the barrel you need to replace the sears (and piston) with 90° ones, then replace the cylinder because the stock one can't even stand 100 rounds at 1J. All these modifications end up costing you quite some money, whereas All of them (except for the cylinder) are already present in the stock 02.
  6. Because in the real world a longer barrel means more velocity, more range and more accuracy. Airsoft sniper rifles try to mimic the exterior look of said real rifles, but we have completely different mechanical principles to work with. Range and consistency are given by a good hop up and a clean, straight barrel, along with the least amount of leaks in the whole system.
  7. yeah, a €350+ cylinder kit from EdGi. A new gun is €150. Do your math. Also accuracy (if we can call it accuracy) is not related to barrel length. Actually, people have better results (so more consistency) from shorter barrels than with longer ones.
  8. Leave it compressed for a couple of days and try again.
  9. I like it, mine's turning into something similar
  10. Isn't it lovely when your gun shoots lasers until you hit the field, then shots go everywhere but where you aim.

Nonetheless it got me a couple of otherwise impossible hits :D

May I ask what loadout you was using today

fires lasers then shoots all over the place...

      Hmmm Stormtrooper jokes inbound...

      Specna M4, G&G 0.25s..

But as mentioned before, the barrel has two nasty scratches on the inside, 2/3cms from the crown. No clue how they have been made, but I was planning on changing the barrel anyway.

      Indeed.

I've come to the conclusion that I am cursed.

I can't seem to have a decent performer in my arse

I think some of that post got lost mate. What was the rest?

      🤔😉

  11. Unfortunately not an option, I'm keeping the AAP as a sidearm. Plus running HPA here is tricky, I don't have a compressor, scuba shops aren't keen on filling HPA and I'd like to keep my scuba cylinders for diving
  12. So, gun is on its way, had a quick talk to my tech this morning because he wanted to show me the Perun optical he installed.. I don't know if he messed up the installation or calibration, but it looked lame, as if it couldn't properly read the trigger position. Should I drop €150 on a Titan at this point?
  13. The key to sniping is in movement and field craft. Find a load bearing kit that works for you, don't look at YouTube because 90% of the "sniper loadout" videos are full of shit. I've tried all sorts and now I'm settling on a simple chest rig. In theory you'll be scalping people from 100 metres, in practice you end up using your secondary way more than you rifle. So you may want to invest in a mk23 (best airsoft gun, period). Stupid range, stupid quiet, you can do everything with it bar magdumping rentals (which, btw, is the whole point of airsoft). Ghillies are cool, but not necessary. Matching your camo to your environment is. You can carry some hair bands in your pocket to add natural vegetation to your rifle and kit. They weigh nothing and are cheap, plus they have a million different uses. Rubber bands to the same but are less durable. Stay light, makes it easier to move through vegetation. Never take the easy path, never move in the open. You're a hunter, not a headless chicken like Nov/Silo. That's bullshit, not sniping. Also take a look at Stip's blog
  14. Ares AM009. With the money I've spent on that thing I could've easily bought a MTW. Fucks sake I still have nightmares about it when I crack open a new gun You see? The problem is in the E.
  15. Has to be pistol calibre though, I already have 2 (well one is still somewhere between Poland and Italy) tricked out M4s.
  16. Title's kinda self explanatory. I was looking at my ARP-9 the other day, great little gun, nice trigger response, nice ROF (around 22 RPS in its stock configuration), compact size and somewhat lightweight. But it has a few niggles, namely the hop chamber being a bit meh, the stock bushings being brass, the gearbox (as with all G&Gs) lacking a QC spring and having the screws on the other side and the magazines. Most of these cons aren't really an issue, bar the last one. The available magazine really kill the gun's potential.. The stock high cap sucks, can't feed more than 10 bbs before needing winded again, needs to be bashed often (bbs get stuck inside because of the slim design) and the winding mechanism itself is crap. The G&G midcaps are shit, €30+ per mag and they only hold 60 rounds. Absolutely impossible to find. The Classic Army X-9 mags are about €25/30 per mag depending on the retailer, hold 120 bbs but 3 out of 3 mags that I have come with springs so weak they feed the first 10 bbs and then don't have enough tension to lift the other 100. Also really hard to find here. Then there is the drum: that thing is marvelous, feeds everything, is rock solid and being mechanical it doesn't require extra batteries. Very little that can go wrong with it, props to G&G for making it good (also available in 5.56 form which I have, mp5 version and others). Don't get me wrong, the gun + drum combo lets me run really lightweight loadouts (belt, small pack, that's it) which is fantastic for summer games, but sometimes I feel like I'm missing something by not having to reload. So I'm here questioning the permanence of the ARP-9 in my "armory", ideally I should just buy some superfeed springs but, just like them magazines, they are hard to come by. While browsing the internet I've come across a few neat looking PCCs, namely the KWA QRF series, specifically the MOD 1 with its curved MP5 style magazines. The thing is way out of my league though, retailing at €350+, being out of stock everywhere and has the same issue of proprietary magazines. Following that style, I have found the King Arms PDW 9mm series of AEGs. They take regular MP5 mags, opening up to a whole lot of different mags (high caps, midcaps and G&G drums) for much less than say G&G/CA/KWA mags. From what I've seen online they are mostly polymer, feature a weird 7mm QC gearbox and a somewhat basic mosfet, along with a supposedly decent 25k motor. Oddly enough they come with an older style gear hop unit. Price wise, they aren't the cheapest, being mostly unavailable in Italy (can get some from the UK for roughly €210/220 posted). A few variants available, the shorty with a 5" ish front end, the long that should be around 7/8", the M-Lok and the SD (M-Lok variant with a suppressor). I'm particularly interested in the Long version, it has that MP5A5-esque look that is very intriguing, plus it's of decent length. But I've heard mixed feelings about these guns, some say they're great, others say they're shit (as with all things really), some complain about the magazine wobble. I don't care too much about the internals, if I end up buying one I'll be doing the same shit all over again (13:1, HT motor, good FCU, blah blah blah). What should I do? Halp pls 😢
  17. if micron counting isn't your thing, go TM. If you want a gun that just works, go TM. If you want to spend your money wisely (idk if someone already told you, but monies don't grow on trees), go TM. If you want a 1:1 scale replica of the real thing to be used as a paperweight, fuck off.
  18. Yeah, doesn't look too shoddy. I'll see if I can fit it to the ARP-9 tonight to see what it looks like, but it'll probably go on my new specna whenever it is delivered.
  19. My super expensive €20 Geissele knockoff from AliExpress just arrived. ('kin hell now it doesn't show images but links ffs) https://i.imgur.com/0uGdCS9.jpg https://i.imgur.com/MQ7dt3E.jpg https://i.imgur.com/kcPp95r.jpg
  20. as in E.S. Custom, the Italian guy? Fucking avoid him like the plague.

I still have my review posted in that section. Great gun imo for £160 when I got it.

What got me interested is the fact that it's stupid light and that takes regular mp5 mags.

      Aight making the thread.
