If your in the market for something in that sort of colouring I can highly recommend the Arthurian Airsoft ‘Mordred’ , I have one and it’s an absolute corker of a gun and well within your budget so you’ve money for bells’n’whistles as well ?

Basically what the title says , I’ve a couple of Hi-capa pistols(one WE and one TM) that are non functioning and would like them to BE functioning !😁 but as I freely admit I’m a total Neanderthal when it comes to the world of tech work I’m in need of assistance . Don’t want super dooper race guns or any of that Tom foolery just want the buggers too simply work , so am looking for some names .

Have to say I really like that look , which surprises me as normally I don’t like ‘non standard’ set ups on issue weapons . The miss coloured panels work very well on it and due to that the angled foregrip doesn’t look out of place like it normally does to me on an L85 .

Agree with everyone saying get the MAG 170rd’ers , defo best option 👍PS as to the STANAG adapter ? Most players I know who run P90’s wouldn’t pee on you if you where engulfed in flames those things are that hated ! 😉

There is no one who has broken gears or piston in a TM NGRS with 100% stock parts? At some point they have to break, I suppose...
I run 7.4v LiPo’s and 9.9v LiFe batteries in mine , binned the NiCd the minute I got the guns ! 😁
god yes ! I hate to think how many rounds they’ve had through them over the yrs I’ve owned them , plus most of my shooting is on semi , only use auto if a non hit taker needs a ‘spanking’ 😉
can’t say no one’s hasn’t ever broken(that’ll be a silly thing to say) all I can say is I’ve personally not known anyone who’s had one they’ve owned from new(so they know it’s full history)go tits up as yours has . 👍

As others have said it’s what you think about the feel of it in your hand that’s the real decider , wether your happy with polymer or you MUST have metal for that ‘real’ gun feel , as actual material wise I’d go polymer every time due to the fact most every metal airsoft gun on the market is made from metal that has the tensile strength of dried Himalayan YAK snot and will break with even the lightest of impacts compared to a real gun ! 🤦♂️ Where as polymer has the smallest amount of flex so ‘mite’ survive the metal gun killing nose dive you take as you go arse over tit trying to run into the objective like the god of war you think you are ? 😉

Coming to your question from the other direction I’ve got a recoil SOCOM thats 14yrs old , a 12yr old AK74su , a 11yr old sopmod and a G36k that’s 9-10yr old that are all stock bar a deans fitted , all been used by either my self or both my sons(22+19 both played since they where 14) and all are still functioning fine(admittedly the mag stop no longer works on the Socom and is a bit finicky on the sopmod). In all that time I’ve found when ever I’ve spoken too or heard about players having problems with theirs they’ve ALWAYS done something to it internally , no matter how small the ‘up-grade’ has been I still blame that as the route cause of the problems . I’ve always said TM recoils are the ultimate example of “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it !” as I think due to japans very strict FPS rules TM have made their guns to run perfectly in the range of 280-305’ish and the minute you change anything internally on them it throws it out of balance and that’s why they go tits up .
So I’d say unfortunately you had a lemon simple as that . 😢 -

As others have said do your research on the seller and ALWAYS ask for a clip of it working , you can get a lot from just a few secs of video of seeing and hearing it running . Plus if you don't know the character of the seller try and stick with adverts that have loads of pictures of the gun or the seller is willing to supply more pics(there are a few guys in the sport that I’d buy a gun from with out even seeing any pics of it as I know their trustworthy , but not many😉)but if there’s just one pic of the gun in a box and they won’t send any more walk away .
Unfortunately though in the end even with ALL the precautions you can think off there’s still a chance you can get a lemon hasn’t stopped me buying , just the nature of the beast when shopping 2nd hand .👍

Soooooo seller ‘thinks’ it’s a stripped piston but to me doesn’t sound like he’s 100% confident it’s just that , but is STILL asking £220 for a non working bollox’ed gun that you may or may not be able to fix or may even need a complete new gearbox ? OK just checking ! 😳

Well I’ve been to most and can happily say the gameplay absolutely sucks like a busted hoover !🤦♂️ Really can be that bad , you have bottlenecks , blindfiring , players not taking their hits , players not pushing forward , sitting around chatting , etc , etc you name the gameday complaint and I 100% guarantee you’ll encounter it multiple times through out the day , I’ve always said there’s just too many players to be able to run an effective game BUT and this is the important bit for me I don’t see any of that as really that big a negative because when you think about it when are you EVER going to get a chance to play with 2000+ players ? 😱
Me ? I don’t go for the gameplay i go for the social side of it , now don’t get me wrong I do enjoy the game(me and my mate just play our own game spending the day trying to shoot as many players as we can AND as inventively as possible!😂)plus I’ll often arrange to meet up with forum/Facebook group members just to put a face to a name as much as anything , I always take a shit load of kit to sell at the ‘airsoft car boot’ sale and I always go with my best mate(we both have very high stress jobs so it’s just nice to get away from everything for a couple of day , forget about work , act like a pair of stupid kids and just generally chill out and decompress 😁) plus various other friends and team mates come and go each yr so there’s always a small group of us .
For me if you go expecting a well organised fast paced Mil-Sim event then you are SERIOUSLY going to be sorely disappointed ☹️ BUT if you go with zero expectations and just take it for what it is I’d say you should have a pleasant experience . Is it worth the couple of hundred pounds it’ll end up costing ? Not sure about that anymore but again it’s up too you in the end . 🤞

Edit - Should point out that all those recommendations are based off of how the sites were in January 2020 which was sadly the last time I managed to play airsoft, and evidently the sites have changed a lotYea it’s quite shocking the way loosing an important person and then a catastrophic business damaging even occurring can effect something so badly . I used to travel from Swansea to play there I liked the vibe of the site that much , but when it started back up after lockdown the moment you arrived you could see the old ‘airsoft family’ site was gone and it was just another soulless ‘get em in , get their money and get em out’ airsoft business .
Classic example of nothing lasts forever I suppose . -
Be aware the head marshal for both Black ops sites Dave passed away at the end of lockdown in ‘20 and when it reopened there’d been a big change in management who unfortunately are 100% fixated on recouping as much lost revenue as possible(can’t blame them it’s a business after all)due to Covid , BUT since everything started back up at the Cribbs site it’s been run with little if any consideration to play satisfaction on game days(unlike Dave who’s mission was for everyone to have the best possible gameday they could)as they’ve been running multiple events on the site at the same time . Previously on a normal Sunday walk-on it was just Airsofting on site , but now at the same time they’re running paintball , archery , quad biking , kids Airsofting parties and even clay pigeon shooting ALL on the same day on the same site ! So where as previously you could roam the whole site to play now at most you get 2/3rds of the site but mostly it’s less than half the site and frequently only a 3rd as sections of the site are ‘out of bounds’ due to these other activities going on at the same time . But they still charge full price for the game day of course !
Full disclosure I actually was banned from the site last summer for complaining about this very situation to the site owners wife (he refused to speak to me about it) but obviously as it was my home site for near 8yrs I made a lot of good friends there I’ve kept in contact with and they’ve all said nothings changed and several have left the site for this reason . So just FYI you could be sorely disappointed at Black ops Bristol .

Totally agree but when your only choice is a beautiful skin rapped around a bag’a’shite , it’s still a bag’a’shite no matter how pretty it may be ? Same as using a real gun as example , your never going to get an airsoft gun looking that sexy no matter how much you try so in the end your still on the last train to ‘disappointment junction’ wether you like it or not .
Hence make the best of what you can get ?
