Yeah, I fancy a solid stock version, but it doesn't seem sensible dropping £500 on an almost identical gun to the one I already have just for that. Probably better to await the inevitable solid stock MP5SD and pick one of those up so I can swap front ends over.

Mag prices have actually come down from last week. I know this because I bought mags at Eagle 6 on the basis they were cheaper at £37 than the out of stock FS ones (which were down as £42!). Gaaah. Oh well, so it goes.

That's the thing though isn't it. They took their time, designed a system that actually works and released it when they were ready. All the aftermarket "fixes" are to improve performance in countries OUTSIDE of Japan (other than the obvious cosmetic ones of course) because they work just fine for their market. All the while that airsofters are happy to buy endless iterations of an M4, they're happy to keep churning them out, and quite honestly - who can blame them?

From the sounds of what you’re looking for, I’d say Earmors are the least of what you’d want. Depends how much you value your hearing but I don’t think I’d trust a £20-30 headset.

Ran one on my C8 last weekend, and genuinely there was a point where I was kneeling there trying to clip the damn thing back together thinking "why did I not just put the slingster on it.."

Yep, this is exactly how I run my slings. I have a couple of Blue Force Gear VCAS and a Ferro Slingster. The Vickers slings are superb and ones I use most. The Slingster is good too, but I prefer the adjustment of the BFG as it seems more rugged.

Three-point slings just seem outdated, and the issued SA80 slings are dogshit. Fucking around trying to clip them back up was an utter nause, especially in the rain.

Cyma MP5/G3 claw mount fits perfectly and rock solid. Cyma extended m-lok didn't stay in place due the gun's recoil and it doesn't fully held by those metal tabs on the upper receiver so it's waste of money. Haven't tried Marui ones.

I mean that's the same for everything in this lark 😂 but airsoft stuff is too cheap to ever say anything much with certainty, hell probably applies to the likes of Magpul too I'd imagine they pump out millions of plastic bits per year so there's gonna be tolerance wobble.  I'm sure someone here said their Magpul handguard dropped on easily, whereas with the one I have it can just about be persuaded on and is then one major sweary effort to remove, totally not viable for game use and currently being filed and sanded in to submission.  On the other hand my VFC old school Surefire style lighted handguard fits great and just needed a hairs width of plastic reaming out of the pin hole to work perfectly, but I'd bet other people who try other examples of that handguard on their own TMs will have different experience.  I had to have a LOT of work done to a real collapsible F stock to get it to fit, not a good idea at all.

Personally my sum up is that I'd only expect TM NGRS MP5 stuff to just drop in, maybe the couple of laylax bits.  RS and VFC GBB stuff is often close enough to be viable after work, but probably expect it to not fit out of the box.  I don't think any other AEG MP5 stuff is viable except maybe some optics mounts but probably with work.  If you approach it like that, you hopefully won't go super far wrong.

Think this is the latest FS thread..

It's extremely rare I have any sort of CS experience at all with an airsoft shop, but I've placed a few orders with FS recently.  With my current living situation (have my old bedroom back home, mostly live on base 95%+) I'll sometimes order something then not touch it for months, so I can kinda lose track now and then.  I bought some stuff what I thought was maybe 3 months ago, then another order about 3 weeks ago.  E-mailed asking to return an item from the older order and 2 items from the newer - all 3 of said items totally unused, brand new condition in their packaging and fully ready for resale.  Bearing in mind I once returned a multicam shirt to an american retailer 2 years later, which they were fine with again because it was new with the tags and in it's bag ready for resale so I thought this would be ok.  Worst case they can just say no I'd be fine with that too.

The reply I got was.. interesting.  On the one hand, turned out my older order was actually 6 months ago and I'd lost track.  The items had been sat there sealed up for all that time, so if they'd just said 'as per our policy which is X, we'll not accept a return'; I have no idea what the actual law is personally but that's fine, whatever.  Being told, quote "it's unfair for you to even ask" however did feel patronising and I caaaan't stand being condescended to so I wasn't a fan of that.  Just a professionally worded reply that I'd normally expect from a CS e-mail saying no, was all that was necessary.

I returned the 2 items from the more recent order following their policy strictly, got those refunded pretty quickly so credit where it's due there.  Bit of a mixed bag.

Hello all, this is my first post here and I thought I would share my new AEG turned DMR, the Double Bell SR25 (this one)
I haven't really seen any reviews or videos on their SR25 so I thought I would share my thoughts on what I like and don't.
First off the build quality. Surprisingly pretty good for how much the gun cost. Everything feels sturdy and well made, no wobble and a comfortable pistol grip. The only thing that felt SUPER cheap and got instantly replaced was the solid stock. It felt way to fragile, one drop or hard knock and it could shatter kind of fragile. Another bad point is the stock motor, I fired the gun 4 times through my chrono for a stock reading and the gearbox locked up. Now this could of been due to the fact that the gun is locked to semi-only by bespoke with the selector plate but it didn't matter as the gearbox was going to be opened anyway.

The gun has a quick spring change like the Cyma platinum series.

Just removed the stock and twist the spring guide until it pops out, simple!

Internally it has a V2.5 SRS gearbox which is a bonus!

It has standard ok gears which I replaced, the nozzle was metal with an o-ring and the piston had steel rack teeth with a decent bearing head, the cylinder was ported which I also replaced along with the cylinder head. The air seal however from stock was REALLY good. So far impressed.

My piston had the 19 teeth but it was exactly like the picture above.

Now some issues, I had to send the gun to a local tech as It was causing a massive head ache, it turns out the stock cylinder is smaller then the replacement non-ported SR25 cylinders.

    SHS SR25 Non-Ported Cylinder

With a bit of modification he got the cylinder in with the gearbox closed.

The Front of the gun you have a 420mm brass 6.02 inner barrel (the websites say 500mm, well its not) and a rotary hop up chamber, it felt a bit cheap so I replaced it.

New parts inside of the gun.

SHS SR25 Gears with perfect shimming.
    SHS Non-ported Cylinder
    SHS V2 Cylinder head
    Perun AB++ mosfet
    XT 22TA high torque motor
    XT M130 spring
    Stock piston
    Stock nozzle
    ZCI Rotary hop up chamber
Maple Leaf 6.02 410mm inner barrel
    Maple Leaf MR Hop 70
    Maple Leaf Omega nub
    I'm using a 9.9v LIFE battery.

I replaced the cheap feeling hollow stock with a Cyma SR-25 solid stock, it only needed to be slightly shaved on the bottom of the stock to fit.

The finished product. I'm using 0.32's and I'm getting 341-343 fps. Perfect for my site!
I'm pretty happy with the build, I'll be using it for the first time this Sunday hopefully with no cock ups!

Thanks for the heads up. the lack of mag availability was stopping me getting an MP5A5. placed the order Monday mags turned up today.  so i have mags before I have a gun. that's on the way from Wolf Armoires. Other than the TM claw mount anyone suggest a mount that will fit?

The key point on airsoft is that compliant airsoft guns that are within the definition linked are no longer firearms within the act.

Prior to that exemption they were ‘low power air weapons’ which are within the definition of a firearm

A key technicality is “for the purposes of this act”
Therefore take legal advice on what definition of a firearm applies to your restrictions to ensure that your airsoft BB guns were & are not an issue

Sometimes a definition is carried across legislation and sometimes it refers to ‘as defined in’.  If not specified then it’s subject to interpretation
