  1. That’s an extremely good deal!
  2. If I can ever get round to pulling a load out together then it's definitely on my list of themed events to try Such a great site as well!
  3. Purchased a Snugpak Jungle Blanket for chilly Airsoft events and hill walking where a sleeping bag would be a bit much. It’s basically a big square of sleeping bag material with a weather resistant side. All for the very reasonable sum of sub £30, and stuffs down into a small compression sack. My plan will be to keep it in the bottom of my day sack or patrol pack. I’ve yet to use it at an event but I have tested it on a night shift at work and can confirm it was warm and big enough to cover me. (Not my photo as it’s currently in my work bag ?)
  4. I've owned both a para and full-stock versions of the M249. Personally I'd lean towards a para just because it's that little bit easier to move around with. That said, if you only play at a big open woodland site, have at it with the full stock!
  5. A very busy and stressful time at work sent me looking for retail therapy, so decided to venture back into the realms of a plate carrier for CQB and games where I don't need to carry as much kit. Picked up a Ferro Slickster and triple 5.56 insert, arrived the next day and really happy with it. It seems comfortable and light, and should be exactly what I'm after Pics to follow once I've had a chance to try it out.
  6. I’m holding out for the Gen 5, sell yours to me for the same price ?
  7. My Gen 3 Glock 17 is actually the only pistol I really regret selling on. See if I can get a bit of overtime in this month and buy a new one ?
  8. I believe that anything after the Gen 3's should fit in a standard holster. I know the original Glock 17 wouldn't, but I've got a Gen 3 Glock 19 that fits in genuine holsters and I think the same should go for the 17's.
  9. Yeah, I can see myself buying one of these ?
  10. Gunman Tuddenham filmsim on Saturday. Every time I use this chest rig I like it even more, don’t feel the need to tweak the way it’s set up at all. Ran the L119A1, had to fiddle the hop a little bit - potentially from where the rubber is starting to bed in. Next buy is between a plate carrier to give it another go, or a belt set up that will work with the chest rig.
  11. Yes plenty of cover and barricades which they switched around each game, which helped to keep you on your toes! Shame it's only going to be around until 2025 when they're redeveloping the site..
  12. Great day at RIFT 'The Battery' today. Less than an hour from home and being CQB we thought we'd give it a go as it's something a bit different to a normal outdoor skirmish (and less muddy). Well organised by RIFT as usual, with hot/cold drinks, snacks and hotdogs for lunch. Also a well stocked shop from White Sphere. They cap the number at 70, which I'd say is the most you can get on the site. Rules such as no pre-firing or suppressive fire, and no pyro worked really well with very few bottlenecks, and the short 30 minutes games were long enough to get involved with but not so long that you get bored. Will definitely be back, ran the MP5, L119A1 and at one point just the Glock - great fun.
  13. You could almost get away with that as a 2-tone! Always found the Canadian C7 green very bright!
  14. All mine live in a Peli Case, along with the other bits I use for a game day. Admittedly, I have drastically reduced the number of magazines I own by slimming down my RIF collection ?
  15. I've used the TM M4 style ones since I started, one broke after about 10 years of playing and I've got another 2 in my case. For less than £20 I don't think you can go wrong really.
  16. Modified the foam in the case slightly so that the MP5 fits in now that I've moved on one of the M4's. Looking forward to getting out again at the end of the month
  17. Yes their wording can be quite heavy. Unfortunately, nothing seems to move quickly as far as BF are concerned. I’m sorry to hear this has put you off taking up other shooting sports, hopefully your future experiences are less painful!
  18. As a UKAPU Rep - we’re starting to see more of these seizures where retailers mark the RIFs as having fps over 1J. We are aware of it, and we are pushing Border Force for explanations around the investigation of each seizure.
  19. Is there some sort of notion with the Airsoft gods that as soon as you buy a new RIF your car breaks? ??

Yep.  Found the rifle of a lifetime and my clutch burnt out the same day...

Nightmare! I bought the MP5 a month ago, and now my car needs 2 new high pressure injectors ?

  20. I'd say that the key here is - work out what you carry at a typical gameday, and then build your load carrying gear around that. The OP mentioned a battle belt, so yes a solution that works around it - they've already hinted that some of the larger, bulkier carriers will get in the way of this. I started off with just a belt rig, then went to a plate carrier. As a predominantly midcap user, I found that it was easy to overload and then wouldn't be comfortable, as well as stopping me from going prone. I think over the course of about 18 months I switched between, belt, belt + vest, vest + no belt, webbing, SADF chest rig + belt, PLCE assault vest, Arktis chest rig, and now finally I'm on a Platatac Peacekeeper chest rig. You're unlikely to find a load carrying solution to suit every event, or one that works really well for someone else and works for you likewise. If you've got mates with different gear then ask if you can see what their kit is like, or if you don't mind a bit of trial and error then maybe go for a chest rig as people have suggested and see if it works - if not then try and return or sell it on (or hoard it like I do).
  21. 2025 I’m planning to be there!
  22. That’s made my morning ?
  23. Had a great day at Gunman Tuddenham on Sunday, which will probably be our final outing for the year ? Played a nice mixture of attack and defence skirmish games, through the forest village and concrete hut areas. We felt that the amount of cover available to the attackers had increased since we last played here which was nice to see. I'm not the biggest fan of CQB but forgot how much fun it is creeping about the concrete huts taking advantage of the lines of sight through multiple buildings! We didn't experience any non hit taking, and there were lots of calls of a good nature 'nice shot' etc... , but the marshals did pull everyone in for a moan after one of the village games so maybe there was some in another area. The only downside was having to scrape my car in the morning, and the sole battery for my MP5 dying in the last 10 minutes so not much of a point walking back and grabbing my other rifle - will by another battery before next time!
