  1. As stated above, theres no law against owning an RIF, so as long as you use it sensibly and keep it in a suitable bag or case in public, you wont get in trouble. Just take it to the shop and chrono it, better safe than sorry.
  2. perhaps the hop is turned on too much, blocking the bb? or there is no seal between the nozzle and the lip of the hop rubber, causing all the gas to be released out of the slide
  3. that might not work as expexted. yesterday the last game was called "Snowman Generals". and the aim of the game was literally to "Kick the shit out of the enemy general" and we all know how bad some people are at PIDing their targets...
  4. Thank god its a pixelated version... im actually feeling sick just contemplating that there might be an uncensored version out there
  5. <0.5mW is near harmless unless you have a troubled child in that lecture who just wants to stare at the pretty light. the lasers i use at work have a power between 1 and 2 mW, in order to project a pointer through daylight over long distances, and reflect off imperfect surfaces, and then be seen back from where they originate, so much more than a glance at the light can start to damage the eyes, and the troubled child from before may end up clinicaly blind if you manage to find a consumer laser for airsoft as powerful as the ones in the instruments i use, then you've done well. i doubt any NV system needs more than a 0.5mW laser to be visible
  6. Shall we all just ignore the fact that the guy couldnt put the carry handle on the right way either with a picture in front of him or with common sense? Ok, sorry to point out what we already knew...
  7. Dead right, at least consider your graphics card with the first bit of budget, considering it is one of the three most expensive parts. On the topic, my GTX 660 works a dream. Even a couple of years old, it handles new games at 60fps with all the sliders at 11, and i constantly run shadowplay as well. I spent 800 quid on mine and its still going strong nearly 3 years later, getting exotic parts isnt really an investment for the present, its future-proofing your rig against the rapidly growing requirements, so it still works in 5 years
  8. IR radiation is inherently less powerful than visible light, as it has a longer wavelength. It CAN be damaging enough, but if it doesnt come plastered with laser warnings and a disclaimer, it is not likely powerful enough to cause damage. Its like visible lasers, some can damage eyes, some cant, just check the power is less than 1mW and it should be fine (unless you stare at it)
  9. Culmination of a few days shopping: -Bits and bobs for propane usage -New molle rifle sling (my SA80 sling is too short for my G5 for obvious reasons) -small riser for the G5s optic -Dynatex BFG with .209 primer adapter (adapter so i can use it at The Hive)
  10. That one comes with a H nub. Youll want to find somewhere you can both: take apart your gun to fit the new rubber/nub AND test fire the gun, at least 20m. When installing a H nub, it can be hard to set, resulting in a spin tgat sends your BBs off to one side, so it might take a couple of tries. And when you do find a place, make sure that nobody can see you with an assault rifle and call the ARU, else you may be in for a surprise
  11. Ive not had a lot of experimenting, but a madbull blue 60 degree rubber works wonders with my ICS SA80. If you get the red one it comes with a H nub rather than a standard one, which again worked wonders for me
  12. Dont be daft, Vader couldnt fit a cookie through that grille/respirator
  13. you think the darkness is your ally? I was born in it... Moulded by it. ... Oops, wrong trilogy
  14. I must see a video of this scaring the shit out of a newbie, does it have a first person camera for getting around?
  15. Indeed, try having a mk5 go off at your feet when youre stood in a short corridor. I had never experienced temporary hearing loss before then... Quite a surreal experience
  16. oh god no, who knows what he will do if he sees this monstrosity.... better to just burn it now before he catches wind
  17. I just use a pair of B&Q workmen gloves, with no fingertips, and i cannot fault them at all
  18. Ah, i thought for a sec that some smart arse at WE had tried to put a weaver on an SA80...
  19. I thought the WE had a dovetail rail like the real steel (ie not a 20mm weaver/picatinny) On my ICS AEG i used an adapter since the rail is so low it needs a riser anyway
  20. BF 2 (or a version of it) was released on PSP to showcase its power. Perhaps in 5 or 10 years a handheld will have the power to run the game or a stripped out version anyway
  21. I now present, my finished ICS L85 A2 External Mods (in no particular order): DD Rail Knock-Off AFG (though the cheeky bastards put it an a Magpul box) Element M600 flashlight clone No-Brand battery box (owing to the tiny space available in the DD RIS) G&P 1x30mm reflex sight on No-Brand rail riser on B&T Dovetail > Picattiny adapter PTS Enhanced Polymer Mags Osprey Mk4 sling point (connects to my Plate Carrier, though has slipped and let the rifle go a couple of times) Internal Mods: Custom-made Metal Hop arm Madbull Blue 60 degree rubber element "H" nub crimps connecting the motor replaced by solder (better current flow) The last time i skirmished it, I didnt have the flashlight (though a quick test at home and is plenty bright enough to light a small room to normal levels). It shoots like a laser indoors, no more than a couple of good shots (ie well aimed) and a standing target 30m away is hit, very consistent. but above all else, it feels good, and (In my opinion) it looks good. Maybe in the future i might swap for an Elcan replica, but until then, I declare this gun my own. my next gun is on the way, and its a much lighter GHK G5, which incidentally is LESS THAN HALF the weight of the ICS (G5 = 2kg, L85 = ~4.5kg) and being GBB, might be a hell of a lot more fun to shoot
  22. i have to disagree, eyeshields fog just as easily because they sit so close to the face (especially with prescription inserts)
  23. Also, none are actually holographic, theyre just reflex sights in a holo body. You will get parallax with and optic, literally, EVERY single one. The issie is reduced when the LED is further from the lens. So on a short holo, the parallax is very noticable, whereas my cheap G&P tube sight has very little parallax due to the length of the tube.
  24. ill probably take it to my local shop and use their range to get it tested, get it chronoed and check i lubed everything up right and its performing. does yours get 330 on 0.28s or on 0.20s? because the former would leave a real welt
