  1. Don't shoot me. I am vaguely aware that I'm committing a crime... How about adding rails and all the tactical bells and whistles to a sten? In your posts, feel free to take me to Nuremberg, but also share ideas, and methods of execution.

    Tactical Sten Gun

I say go for it! It might not look pretty, it isn't the most authentic piece of kit - but that doesn't matter. So long as you like it and it works, it's fine. It's not beyond impossibility for it to happen anyway. A few years back (possibly 5, honestly can't remember), quite a few websites showed that the Philippines military (willing to be corrected) had done a similar thing to their rather old M3 Grease guns. Rails, lights, grips, the works. Absolutely bloody mint. At the time it was an interim thing, until they could afford something else. The internet response was... interesting. The type of people who furiously masturbate over pictures of 'pure' fire-arms (you know the types I mean; "if it wasn't an official design which saw service, it's heresy") were up in arms, decrying what they called 'sacrilege' of a historic firearm. They completely ignored the justifications of the military that, as a country which lacked a multi-trillion dollar defence budget, they couldn't afford to buy lots of flashy, high-tech, polymer guns covered in rails at the time. And that actually, the modifications worked pretty well. So seriously, go for it! I look forward to the pictures

  3. All done! Got the gears from Pete, got other bits from all over. I now have a gearbox with SHS 13:1 high speed gears, JBU High Torque motor, SHS trigger switch. Also installed a Burst Wizard Super 2 MOSFET. Had an issue today as the piston wasn't seated correctly so had to borrow a gun but got back home and fixed it. Seems to be firing well. Chuffed with it. Just hope it holds up.

    Tactical Sten Gun

Hmm, next you'll be wanting a comfy grip to hold it by Love my sten, but as others have said it's yours to do with as you like. Perhaps you could add a realistic silencer then attach rails to that ?

    Tactical Sten Gun

That thompson would be nicer without the M4 front end...if you made one which had the stock handguard design with rails on that it'd be nicer...

  10. Your link just goes to the assault rifle Category. It only shows the LCT AS VAL,which isn't exactly cheap. LCT AS VAL,although new has been praised for it's build quality, durabilty and materials. Full steel construction. CNC Receiver, stamped steel everything and the welding work is fantastic. LCT are very good at making body kits with good durability and materials. LCT used to be the OEM for Inokatsu. The AS VAL according to some people is probably the best thing they have released for some time. I'd say that's true, barring that full steel m60 they make The Gearbox is LCT's new 'pre upgraded' shite. The Piston is no longer the craptastic clear one and now a decent Glass fiber nylon one. It has a steel rack which is good for high speed builds, however it can chew up the gears if something goes wrong, unless LCT made the steel on the piston rack weaker than the steel on the gears.. Unfortunately they chose to go with 9mm bearings. The trouble with 9mms is that the bearing size is larger but the balls inside are not so you get no performance or durability increase over 8mms. 9mm bearings are more prone to failure than 8mm ones too. Gears are standard fare, partly machined it seems. LCT gears are generally pretty durable. Metal piston head with bearings is unnecessary IMO but It's in a V3 gearbox so no durability issues. Air seal parts are often good quality. The Gearbox shell is very, very well cast. Google 'LCT V3 gearbox' and look how pretty it is. It looks better than a lot of aftermarket stuff. Hop up and barrel are 'meh' from my experiences with LCT stuff. Barrel is 6.02 and brass IIRC. External wise it's a clone of the Russian made NPO VAL so it shares the same issues-top cover is too large and the ejection cover/bolt is too small, stock is also smaller than the RS but again, inherited from the NPO. Otherwise it's one of the better proportioned ones out there. Other manufacturers really messed up the handguard on their VSS/VAL models but LCT got it right. If you are talking about the Force/Core one they have it's a rebrand of the S&T/AY VAL. It's malformed very badly and proportions are very bad. gearbox is nothing amazing compared to other ACM but can be good with some tuning. Most of it's made out of zamak and some steel parts. It works well however. It does not have some issues with hop like KA and does not have some odd design choices like G&G.

A few quick pictures. I will eventually make a mini guide on how I made this (no lid because hammerite is drying on it).

    Beginner M4??

Maybe it's because the internals haven't worn in? Put some rounds through it and it should set in to about 320 - 330 fps

Seriously, considering asking g&g if they would give us commission for all of this. I wonder how many rifles they've sold thanks to us? And yes, G&G combat machine. It's a brilliant gun for beginners

  14. ESS profile turbofan goggles. Full seal, polycarbonate lens which will stop buckshot, anti fog coating on the lens that's effective on its own. Coup de grace though is the fan in the top of the goggles that pulls air through them, on low speed it's all but inaudible to the person wearing them, let alone people nearby. On high speed it's louder but still quiet enough that no one will hear it from further away than about 6'. Have worn them with a plastic lower attached with cable ties during intense CQB with lots of running and have NEVER experienced them fog up even a little.

    Stocked Pistols

Sorry to rain on your parade but there are no stock kits available for a PPQ- and I'm not even sure if there is a decent airsoft replica of one on the market. As monty said, if you're looking for a body/stock kit for a pistol there are plenty available for Marui full size Glocks- such as the Roni kit or the AABB kit. There is however an AABB kit available for M1911/MEU style pistols, and your best bet for a base gun for that would be a Marui 1911.

  17. Heard some reports from a few friends of mine who run top tech gen 3s,and from some other players who've used them.Apparently G&G MOSFETs should not be used with any lipo over 25c of discharge, they'll blow otherwise. Really does not like 11.1vs as well. Now,20-25c isn't that much. That's only half the discharge rate needed to spin your motor up to full speed instantly. Isn't the whole point of the mosfet to allow you to use higher discharge batteries? Call me skeptical, but I think these mosfets just MIGHT be complete shit

  19. Don't listen to anyone else. The SAS will descend on your house within 24 hours if you don't paint the entire thing fluorescent pink. Also, IIRC, it has to also glow in the dark.
