  2. 👋🏻Hey everyone! Thought I’d introduce myself my name is David, but on the field I go by Foreign Airsofter. I’m originally from Latvia, and after serving in the French Foreign Legion, the nickname “Foreign Airsofter” just felt right a little nod to both where I come from and my time in service. For years I wanted to get into Airsoft, but life always seemed to get in the way. Finally, at the beginning of this year, I decided it was time to jump in and I’ve been playing as much as I can ever since! How it all started I built a campervan in the UK, and my partner and I set off on a nearly 3-month road trip around Europe. On my birthday during that trip, I decided to treat myself I bought my first Airsoft rifle and officially started my Airsoft journey! Originally, I wanted to go down the sniper route, but after doing some research and chatting with more experienced players, I decided to start with an AEG. I picked up a Tokyo Marui HK416D, and I absolutely love it it’s almost identical to the one I used during my time in the French Foreign Legion. When I got back to the UK, I dug out my old army uniform from the attic, grabbed a chest rig and helmet off AliExpress, strapped a GoPro to my head and hit the UCAP Bunker with just one mag and had an absolute blast! I even recorded that first game for my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@ForeignAirsofter Since then… My collection has definitely grown (I’ve even managed to get my dad hooked on Airsoft 😄). I keep telling my missus I keep “winning” new gear somehow, but for some reason she’s not buying that excuse! Funny story before my very first game, I actually took my HK416 apart just to understand how it worked, and that’s where my interest in tinkering and upgrading began. I’ve since added a sniper rifle to my loadout and really enjoy both playstyles. I love big outdoor fields and Milsim events, though I don’t mind a good CQB session now and then. I used to play regularly at Ground Zero and UCAP Bunker, but I’ve recently moved to South Wales so I’m looking forward to checking out the local sites and meeting more like minded players in the area! I did use a my fried GPT to make my gibberish easier to read ahha

  4. Also I'm pretty sure most couriers have rules about Joe Public posting pressurised canisters of flammable gasses

  5. @ShirtLessScottishGuy not cringey at all, the seller hasn't demanded ukara, the key word he has used is "ideally", no doubt that would be the easiest option for HIM to check ?. He does state that potential buyers will need to meet current legislation in some form, & does so at the start of the thread, obviously stop all the timewasters & chancers that cant prove a defense wasting his time, half term is just ending after all 😏 #trigger alert & Thank god nobody mentioned a "license" 😜

  6. You are right, that is not how it works. And no, pulling the spring faster does not add compression, at least not until you reach pull velocities faster than it can return which is physically impossible in an AEG. Yeah, tappet plate timing is the only explanation.

  7. I'd agree with your thoughts on higher power battery throwing the piston a bit further back allowing it to reach a higher speed going forward but I doubt it would gain 50fps. Another possibility may be that the higher cycle rate somehow creates a better air seal because its out of sync at slower speeds.

  8. Another cringe post demanding a UKARA. Unless you're a retailer you do NOT need a Ukara or any proof at all from someone. Only exception to that "in compliance with UK law" anyone over the age of 18 can buy and own a rif. Ukara is not a licence to own its a easier way to prove why you're buying one that is all it is.

  9. Migration is happening middle of next week (Tuesday through Thursday). The old forums will be made accessible in a read only mode for a few weeks afterwards, but again the plan is to move as much data as possible anyway. For the avoidance of doubt: accounts and posts will carry over as well as any existing threads, but probably nothing else. You will be able to log into your existing account as normal.

  11. Deadpool (Soft Pool?) 2.0 got some photos yesterday. I'd done a cosplay show earlier and thought I'd get some shots with the shiny new drum Deagles. I'm also making an appearance at LAC's zombie night next month, so I got some shots of the Zombie Pool mask too. Not gonna be to everyone's taste, but I usually get a few laughs (and shot in the ass a lot! 😆)

  12. Using the word clone against the real one would be ok if all the clones were the same , made in the same place and made under the same QC , but they are not , you can buy 4 different clones under different names from 4 different places and they would all be different , buy the same clone under the same name 3months later at it’ll be different again . where as you can buy 4 genuine Magpul products from 4 different places and they would all the same . you might get a good clone out of the 4 or you might get 4 shit ones . IME the genuine CTR requires no shimming for an OEM TM tube unless you want it pretty much like a fixed stock .

  13. OP - I'd swap the 'can' in your posed question with 'should'. I think in this hobby it's really worth stepping outside of our little bubble and taking a look at ourselves from an outsider's perspective. Our hobby is fucking weird. 'Oh yeah, at the weekend I dress up like a soldier and run around with other grown men, but also children, and play with toy guns. Sometimes I like to wear my soldier costume in my house and look at myself in the mirror. Oh yeah that's the wall in my office that I've dedicated to hanging all my toy guns on so I can stare at them.' Yes, we all know we're a bunch of harmless dorks who love a weekend of BB wars as an alternative to a 5-a-side match or a round of golf. To the general public (especially in today's intolerance fuelled culture of performative indignation) we're the people they should make laws about to make our streets and public spaces safer, only the army should be allowed to have military equipment, why can't they just play paintball... you get the idea.
