  2. Hello everyone! I've just created an account here in order to sell my entire arsenal and kit. I was going to fire up my old Zeroin account but it looks like that entire website got wiped so my decades old account no longer exists... So I've signed up to join your ranks instead to shift all this gear I've had sitting in storage for nearly 15 years now... And I thought i'd give a little backstory to those who might be wondering who I am and why a new account will suddenly have mountains of kit to sell! As I'm sure that could look a little sus. I started playing airsoft around 18/19 years ago and fell in love with it. Played for many years in and around the south of the England and made some great friends on those sites. After I went to Uni and got started with my career I didn"t have much time to play and as the years have gone on my large array of weapons slowly had to make space for the rest of my life and ended up in storage. And now its finally time to part ways with them as I haven"t played in over 7 years, I'm getting married and need to raise funds for the ever growing expense that's becoming, and then after that my wife and I will be emigrating to a country where Airsoft is outright banned... So it's all got to go and I'd rather see it go into the hands of someone who's going to actually use it rather than sit in the loft at my parents place for the rest of my life. So yeah, looking forward to meeting a bunch of you and seeing all the cool kit and weapons you've got, and try to not fall in love with the game we bloody love all over again haha Cheers! Feenix

  3. Putting aside my ambivalence towards the site, I set out this morning for Splatoon in Essex, having made sure that my rifles were wearing their barrel socks. The site was remarkably busy, with 120 players being present, representing a wide range of ages and experience, including a fair number of rentals. Because of this, four of us ended up sharing one picnic table; I was delighted to encounter Luke, a former Airsoft Plantation and Tower Airsoft marshal who I have known for a while and who had once offered me a marshalling gig on behalf of Tower's management. After going through the morning rituals, which included setting up the MP5SD2 and listening to the safety briefing and the somewhat vague briefing for the first game, we set off to the field for a game of spinners. Each of the three zones has a spinner with two colours; each team has to try to finish the game with their colour upwards in each zone. I started off in the centre zone, where we had a great fight, eventually managing to get what we thought was our colour up and defending it. After a while, I was hit, so went back to regen, where I bumped into Luke. We decided to go into the container field with a group of other regened players; unfortunately, at this point, it became clear that there was some confusion over which colour we were supposed to get pointing up. One marshal said that we had to get one colour up while another stated the opposite. Regardless, we had a great time exchanging shots and kills with the enemy until the game ended. It turned out that we had somehow managed to get all the spinners pointing up the way we needed them. Talking to some opposing players in the safe zone, it became apparent that they had also suffered from the same confusion and conflicting instructions, so it may have been mere chance that resulted in us winning. After a mercifully short break to reload, we went out for a fallback game after another rather vague briefing which somewhat glossed over how many stages there were. As the attackers, we had infinite regens at our start point, while the defenders turned out to have one life in each of three areas. Attacking against 60 players in a very small area, our initial advance was slow and I made an awful lot of trips back to regen before we started making ground; after a long slog, we forced them out of the first area and regrouped before advancing into the first stage of the container field, where I got some excellent hits on defenders in the structures. Having eventually cleared that section, including some pesky snipers in the top woods who took ages to get rid of, we started our attack into the second part of the container field, but ran out of time before getting to the final objective. Having partaken of luncheon, during which some players left, another game rather inevitably ensued. Four large containers of water were scattered across the site; each team had to try to get them back to their regen. Firefights ensued all across the site as both sides searched for them and tried to get them back, during which a small group of us had a rather amusing private war with some opposing players in the lower zone which had nothing to do with recovering the containers. The game ended as a draw. After another break, during which more a lot more players left, mostly from our team, we played a reverse of the earlier fallback game; suffice to say that it went rather more quickly than the earlier iteration, with the remnants of our team being utterly steamrollered. I was hit almost immediately in the first section and fell back into the far corner of the first half of the container field; Luke and I decided to hide ourselves in the top woods in the hope that the enemy would declare the area clear without spotting us, thus incurring time penalties. This did not work. In the last stage, I had the pleasure of taking out several enemy players who were trying to move through the top woods and one impertinent chap who poked his head around a corner rather too often. Following this, I, along with many others, decided to leave, having had another less than excellent day at Splatoon. Luke's comment was that it seemed to be a decent site but the team did not seem to know how to use it effectively; I could not disagree. He will probably not return. 4. Just got home from Ambush Activities in Southampton. Having previously been mainly to CQB sites, the open woodland was an interesting experience. My workmates were meant to come, but they all bailed, so I was there on my own. First time being a lone wolf, but it was fun to just support my team by myself After just buying and upgrading a Cybergun P90, it was a good challenge and was very fun to be able to sneak around and even flank some enemies. It was a bit wet and muddy today after a day of rain beforehand, but that just meant they weren't expecting people to be prone on the floor >:) Decent objectives that were actually achievable. A few places I have been before (Ironsight Airsoft) have crazy objectives that are near impossible. So it was nice for the objective to be possible. A few of them even required 2-4 teammates to carry an objective into an enemy base. Other random info from the day: I lost a pistol mag 😢, there was a dude who had a camera RIF (yes, an adapted old style camera with a "press" outfit), I found and handed in someone's car keys I found in some mud by a tree. I got shot in the face by a HPA M249 by a teammate within 10m (ouch) All in all, a good Sunday skirmish. Will likely return to test out my Specna Arms LVOA

  5. I just got home from... a different site for once. Me and my friend headed to Driver Wood, as we haven't played in over a month and he really wanted to see what the site was like. It was only my 2nd time there, and the last time I went was a while ago so it was basically both of our first times since so much has changed. I made the best decision of the day and when I saw it was 5 celcius this morning, I popped the thermals on. Since we wouldn't be able to leave anything locked in a car, we both only took 1 rifle and 1 pistol each; I chose my pre-ban Tanaka m24 and my TM HK45, though part of me did wish I brought my SRS or MTW-308 instead, as it was very, very cold this morning and it took a bit of doing to get my m24 shooting where I wanted. I stuck with orange gas in the m24 to try and ensure it was still consistent through the cold temperatures, but green gas went in the HK45 as that was cycling okay on green. If it was going to be 5 celcius all day, I'd have gone with red gas in the m24 and orange in the HK45. There were over 120 people on site today and it didn't feel like it. The site never felt over-crowded, and people weren't bunching up behind barricades. I can't give a detailed breakdown of each game, as I didn't pay any attention to the objectives. They would say where the objectives were, but me as a new player to the site had no idea where most of those places were. The only one I remember was the card game, where they hid a bunch of giant playing cards around the site and I remember that because some of the players moaned it was boring and I think they basically always play that game; I didn't mind it though. I spent most of the day trying to learn the site, learning the landmarks, learning some nice angles etc, and I would say I had a very successful day. I spent a lot of the day fighting around Oxford Street, finding a nasty little angle onto a helicopter that the other team consistently used and using my scrim net to essentially be invisible in one of the shipping containers as I shot out of the window. At one point, I had 4 people looking right at me while I was trying to reload and they didn't see me thanks to the dark interior, no silhouetting as there was a wall behind me, and the scrim net draped over me and my rifle to break up my silhouette and be less head-and-shoulders-shaped. Best part of the day for me was the 105m shot. For those who have played at Driver Wood, it was from the double decker bus on Oxford street all the way to the tower on the corner down the road. I had used my rangefinder in the previous game from that tower to see how far the bus was and it was just over 100m, and in this game after we had switched sides, I was sitting a few metres back in the bus to make sure that I wasn't visible to anyone close below, and also so that the other snipers in the tower couldn't drop shots onto me as I had a roof over my head. My celebration was short lived as my friend got taken out when someone sprayed full auto into the bus and I had to bug out, but still... 105m shot is always a nice one to hit. It was true airsoft archery though, as I had to aim at a significant angle and try and walk it in. Probably took about 10 shots to finally get the hit. There were a lot of long range shots today, with a lot of shots being 70m+, but the 105m shot was the stand out moment. So, my overall opinions of the site were very positive, but nothing's perfect and Driver Wood definitely has its issues. Hit taking was fine, though there were a few people taking the piss; however I saw the marshalls hit-checking players all day which was really great to see. The games weren't inspired, but they worked and did the job for a skirmish day. The site itself plays well, with no one way of playing feeling overpowered; there are plenty of long sight lines for a good sniper to take advantage of (which I enjoyed every moment of because Worthing is crap for sniping), but I never felt too dominant or untouchable and aggressive plays were often well-rewarded from what I saw (because I certainly wasn't doing it with my bolt action sniper rifle and 10rd mags!). The marshalling seemed decent from what I could see, and I didn't really have any issues there. Where I did have issues was after lunch there was a bit of spawn-camping (and I even overheard a player in the safe zone bragging about doing it...). In one game, we ended up just turning our roaming spawn (a spawn that can be attacked) into our hard respawn because the enemy team was all around our hard respawn and it was impossible to spawn there. Also, the team balance was abysmal. It feels like a lot of the regulars all stick together on one side (and I heard someone behind me in the safety brief saying that too), and our team lost literally every game through the day, though I don't mind that too much; I actually quite enjoy being on the weaker team and seeing how much damage I can do. The only thing for me was the spawn-camping; I hate spawn-campers. Oh, and the fact we go back to the safe zone after every game. That got really annoying too, but not the end of the world. Also, my LBE + backpack setup worked wonders. Carried everything I needed and really didn't feel heavy at all. Had it on for the whole day, fully loaded, and really didn't feel it because the weight was distributed so well. I might swap the right-side pistol mag pouch for a holster though and just run a pistol without a suppressor or flashlight. At that height, it'd be far too unwieldy with a suppressor, and my Warrior Assault Systems holster doesn't accept a flashlight, but I really didn't need the 4 spare pistol mags as I barely used my pistol. 2 spare mags would've been more than enough.

  6. Welcome, there's an appraisal section if you need ideas for pricing, the usual rule of thumb is 60-70% of current new price +/- depending on condition, accessories don't always add much value so up to you if you want to sell them with the rif or seperately, lots of decent pics always help (especially if the rif is relatively hi-end). There are also rules on selling in the classifieds so please familiarise yourself with them before placing an add.

  7. First session at Blackstone, impressive site, superb layout and facilities. A few stupid players though, lots of team killing (which I didn't mind as their rule is if you TK then you are dead not the person you shot, which I like). Too many HPA users for my tastes, and whilst they do chrono and tournament lock the guns, at the range of engagements being so short there were a number of nasty bleeders, including one I caught in the ear and my mate took on in the cheek despite wearing full face. HPA just retains its energy too well for such short range. Biggest issue I had all day was some twat thinking that a 'Knife Kill' was waiting around a corner at the bottom of the spiral stairs then shoving me in the chest as I came round the corner. He did it twice, he was told in no uncertain terms there would not be a third and I reported it to the Marshall team. Got loads of kills just by keeping moving through bottlenecks and getting behind the enemy. MP9 ran brilliantly. Will deffo go back maybe on a week day when its not as busy.

  8. It was almost the exact opposite today. The chap doing the briefings, who I had not seen before, reduced the briefings to such an extent that key parts of the briefing were left out or passed over without clarification. For example, the briefing for the fallback game took less than a minute, during which he showed where the two teams would start, which was ok, and then showed that the next stage would be in the container field with a wave of his hand and a few mumbled words that did not specify whether that would be one stage or two; given that there were a fair number of players who were new to the site, this led to some confusion when the fighting moved there.

  9. Welcome, the forum will be going over to new hosting software this week, so if you've got a lot to post up you might want to wait until after the "move", in case it gets lost. Before you do post kit for sale, please read the classifieds rules, in particular rule 5, & also be aware there is a 10 ad limit, so if you've got loads of items, best to amalgamate it in to groups.

    Best Carry bag / backpack

Get yourself a military deployment bag, they're super strong, 100 litres, don't look overtly military, & can be worn as a backpack, or also have strap points so you could strap it across your bike seat. Here's one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167500010325?_skw=deployment+bag&itmmeta=01K8GB5XQX6B5TXSKWZQGPTXGC&hash=item26ffc75355%3Ag%3AlZ0AAeSwyDloaADv&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1fI3INbF2W2GmkWLH4C9pKpZ83Gh9rmKTiCRqZQyuPzo0CJa6jv%2FEIBEOmwQvzzgPTROAnnbQ7uh7YkuAiKiR87sIR5kO2ByrZZ4xafQbkM78zkuwMkb98rFX57oCtvhSmNz9MKgmy1H2TbKDSzPiMlwWO1GMiMNWaaEuIs0EL7Lq%2Bof716cqdKhP1ZaPZ9BmRD1EtPrauM%2FAnUygp4t5uneROo2dWpi%2FO96B9Pi9GfMQ%2BNSvtMQddqBLwmpavqewU2yl5wAFQJg5%2BKxDtzjk%2F0f5rn1J%2Bk4%2BVhebi9vfAhjQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR6Tcl4vEZg&keyword=deployment+bag&sacat=0&relatedSearch=true&LH_ItemCondition=3000

    Virtus kit

I don't know a ton about the current stuff, but if you eBay search (for example) osprey pouch you'll quickly be able to collate the whole set that was issued. I've done the same for 'virtus pouch' before and it seems like most if not all come up and of course there's multiple pictures and angles spread across the listings. Submit the word belt or bag etc in place of pouch and you can find probably 95%+ of everything.

dont know about a pdf, but there are booklets. i picked one up on ebay earlier this year, and a little bit of google-fu turns up this listing, if you really want a physical copy of your own.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/157260580079?_skw=british+army+virtus+equipment+user+manual&itmmeta=01K8GWJRH0DG385G6V8RE6TFDH&hash=item249d7604ef:g:IS8AAeSwFfNopyI8&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAABAFkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1e2n3viT7yxXYNAddctCmzAxPLoVog7CA7JExM8dnLwRocrjfHGBfpteSu%2B7cenN92C4%2FE3rPPYHPShtacno4RvxU%2FKkENWP%2FoZqNsDWH2RoGNy%2F6YOuicw%2FweEscwzxTsksdS5NPOh4Hui8ywDQ75SXFH3h%2FR2nFwu0KsslQQhY9WETCo%2B%2FUcVRjvRPOgFqpEA3Zoj8KutejfUbGD36C7fAg66dyHHvrb2%2FrpI5q8%2FO80n2v%2B89pcMepJqVA5b1r34PItO%2BDIJvXQXbWUC%2F2A909HcmLejUtoirYOaGNJNzF5wisR7fJ7s%2BfscnCZLK98%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-CIy5zEZg

  17. Hit the nail on the head there, unfortunately… Majority of the games are overly convoluted in the briefing whilst in essence the actual gameplay is simple. Briefings take a long time too which loses people’s attention rapidly and then it leads to the inevitable “What are we doing?” As I mentioned in our DM, more often than not lately we’ve been going more just to see friends than actually for the Airsoft which isn’t ideal. It used to be a cracking site when the old marshal was running it (who’s name escapes me now) as it was a quick brief of what to do, gear up and out to play within 5 minutes. Now briefs take 10+ minutes (Literally… I timed it once out of boredom 😂) and another half an hour before you’re on the field, which then usually incurs another 10 minutes before game on is called 😅

  19. I'm guessing you don't want something military looking to not draw attention? The main two I use for hiking/camping are osprey and sierra designs, 55 and 80 litres. Id go to an outdoor shop and see what feels comfortable to wear with your bike leathers/jacket. Google search says your rif is 77cm long? That's too long for both my bags by about 5 to 10 cm, just measured them.

  20. Hey all, I just wanted to put a shout-out to George from exmachina airsoft. I discovered his website at the start of this year and have now had 4 of my replica's either upgraded or fixed. His attention to detail is second to none, he will literally strip every nut, bolt, spring off your replica and carefully rebuild it from the ground up how it should be done. There is literally nothing this guy can't do. If anyone needs a very good reliable tech give George a shout at https://exmachina.uk/ there you'll find all his details plus what he has to offer. He is based in Huddersfield but does accept replicas being mailed to him as well.

  21. Another from postman Pat this morning, via the classified section off here. This one I don't have to wait till Christmas for. Was supposed to be for the lad, but I think I'm going to struggle to hand it over. Will replace the scope for something better, I have some spares off my old airguns. Already stripped it down and reassembled it for fun, rather simply to do really as you lot will know. The piston head was a little loose, but it fires better now. Definitely need to get a Chrono next payday 😆 The pistol was a cheap bonus as I have one already that's playing up a bit. This one has the striker hop.

Got a bang kill on a sniper and hit one chap at decent distance through the gap between 2 staked containers , both of which were extremely satisfying ! 27. Just had a great afternoon at Blackstone. There was a good mix of regular and new players and it was good to seethe newbies getting stuck in rather than hanging back. Games on the whole went well despite one player on the red team who was a little reluctant to take his hits. The marshals dealt with it though and after he'd been spoken to suddenly started making excuses about needing to go. Why someone would think they can get away with cheating at a site where engagement ranges are measured in feet and everyone is wearing numbered armbands is beyond me but meh, sod him. After he went I didn't see or hear of any hit taking problems.

  28. As is so often the case, a rather dull Sunday morning saw the omniphagus Volvo conveying me to Airsoft Plantation in the rather curious county of Essex. 180 players were present, with an unusually high percentage being either first time visitors to the site or new to airsoft; nobody that I usually team up with was present. I started the day by checking the setup of the ASG FLCN 5.56 that was an impulse buy when I dropped into JD Airsoft a couple of weeks ago, while in Cannock doing lights for a festival which featured possibly the last appearance of the band that I have worked with for a quarter of a century. All that I had done was to replace the hop rubber and nub and the spring. Over a measured 70m distance with the hop set for perfect flight it was putting out 1.03J; lovely! The first game required the Blue team, who started on the firebreak, to get two players onto the upper floors of the five two storey buildings in the village; they had infinite regens on the firebreak, while we had two lives. I started off in the two storey building by the now dried up pond, which soon became rather lively as the enemy attacked directly from the firebreak and flanked around past the border. After some great fights and several very satisfying hits, a BB found me and I moved back to the woods to help defend the sniper tower and the town hall against blue players who had flanked right around the far end of the site. We had a great time stalking each other in the woods and, in our case, providing flanking fire against attacks against the sniper tower. The game timed out with the Blues having taken two of the required buildings. The game was then turned around and I joined a group who were attacking via the suburbs; we pushed into the village and, after a hard fight, took the two storey buildings at that end of the village, getting the requisite two players onto the upper floors of each. Our colleagues attacking from other directions had similar success and we occupied all of the buildings with 45 seconds left on the clock. 1-0 to the Reds Having reloaded, it was time for the briefing for the next game; before this, the site owner gave a very stiff talk about hit taking. I had not noticed any problems, with everyone that I thought I hit raising their hand and walking off, but it seems that there had been an unusually high number of complaints about it. We were informed that anyone found not taking their hits would be required to leave. Fair enough! The next game required us to transfer three bombs in a box to three locations in the mortar pits and set them off; the box required two people to carry it and the bombs could only be transported in the box. We had infinite regens on a marshal, while the defenders had two lives. Leaving the DEA base, we ran into a fierce resistance that initially brought us to a halt, but we found a way through and delivered our bombs to the bridge, the tunnels and, finally, the Bedford. When this game was turned around, a group of us initially took up a position in the Hill Fort, from where we slowed the enemy's attack. Eventually being hit, I fell back to the cover of a large berm from which I was able to pick off some of the enemy now occupying the Hill Fort. There was then a shout that the enemy were attacking in strength on our far left; a group of us ran over to help the defenders, who were trying to repel an attack along the flanking berm on that side; I hit several of the attackers before eventually being hit just as the game ended. The enemy did not bomb all their targets. 2-0 to the Reds Lunch followed, immediately after which we played a short game; starting at the bus in the mortar pits, we were given a 60 second head start to run and take up positions anywhere on that side of the firebreak. The Blues had to hunt us down and kill as many of us as they could in ten minutes. We had one life, while they had infinite regens. Having run away as fast as we could, a group of us took up a number of positions in the scrubland, potting attackers as we slowly fell back to the far end of the site, where we met up with others, including all of our ghillies, to make a stand. When the game ended, 45 of our team had been killed. In the return of this game, we set out rapidly after the retreating blue team, trying to to hunt them down before they could get organised, which we didn't quite manage to do; nevertheless, we managed to kill 55 of them. 3-0 to the Reds For the final game, starting at the border, the blue team had to transport a very large bag of Bob Marley's favourite recreational substance to the Cock Inn in the village, where they could exchange it for a suitcase full of Colombia's finest, which they then had to get into the Cessna. They had infinite buddy regens, while we had one life in the village and two on the other side of the firebreak. My involvement in the first part of this was somewhat limited as a BB skimmed the brim of my boonie, sending me trudging off to the other side of the firebreak, where I set myself up in the Hill Fort, being joined by a few colleagues. We waited for quite a while for the Blue team to complete their transaction in the village; once they had, it became apparent that they were not heading in our direction, so most of us set off for the area around the Cessna, where a disjointed but fierce set of fights ensued as the attackers tried to get the suitcase into it. Lurking behind the rather overgrown biplane, I took out a fair few attackers before the game ended with them failing to achieve their objective. 4-0 to the Reds From my perspective, it was a thoroughly enjoyable day of airsoft; I did not encounter any hit taking issues, despite the concerns that some players seemed to have. What have you made?

Having done up a replica G3 from an old TM version made from parts. I wanted a scope on it, but didn't just want an ordinary scope and didn't wanna pay for the scope that goes with the gun in the real world. Anyhoo, I started with a cheap 4x40 normal scope and cut it down. Emptied it out and put a bit of 30mm pipe on the back. I had a TM MP5 claw mount and cut the top off, filling any gaps in with milliput. A friend 3d printed some spacers and I glued them to the scope I was using. I glued various spare caps on and put a real G36 3x inner scope part to have some sort of sight picture through it. Sprayed up black and flip up end caps to finish. A bit later on I decided I wanted the more modern type lower that I'd seen with the German soldiers in Afghanistan. I used a cheap MP5 Navy lower and filled in the embossed bullet symbols. Sprayed it with bumper paint and drew on the selector markings. I bought a real selector lever from D&B Militaria and drilled a new hole to slot it right through to the other side. It may feel like a long winded way of making it but apart from the lower I already had and the selector which was only a couple of quid all it cost me was a bit of time.

  30. Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! So far I am getting away with the cost as its exercise, similar to going to the gym, which is expensive....... Right..... The games I have played so far the youngsters (teenagers) run off and are followed by the aged (avoided using mature and experienced) then stroll back past to respawn before I reach the front line. Will post a picture of the MP5 when it arrives, gone for a longer tight bore barrel so will be keeping the suppressor on when on the field to keep the inner barrel protected.

    Public webbing walk?

Not a bloody thing, fed up with the buggers where I live. See em all the time two up in black wearing balaclavas. No number plate or helmet so illegal, wheeling through traffic lights on there way to deliver drugs n steel bikes. C@#ts.

  33. My airsoft day, possibly the last of the year with the hopefully notable Santa vs Elves at RedAlret, was at the Dragons Lair. After getting a decent start to the prolonged journey (no c2c service from central out to the sticks) we managed to get to site early-ish (840) and started to bomb up, its quiet though, we normally arrive closer to 920 so thought maybe everyone does to. Nope Didn't happen Ray comes round and let's us know there is not enough players for the day. It's called and we all start packing up. So after spaffing the travel costs, I do look at transporting myself and the kid to Billericay but cabs being cabs, and our mood already sour we turned homeward. And played video games instead. It's frustrating, Dragons Lair has its faults sure, but its not a bad site, rules are strict in the safezone and enforced. They are putting work in to improve the games zone. It is also accessible from east london (on public transport), in ways Billericay and plantation are not.
