  5. Most mechanical locks I’ve seen are just a screw or bolt in the selector which can be taken out. It’s the same as adjusting power in the gun, yes you can change the spring or fiddle with HPA or put a different gas in your mags but if you do you are an idiot and deserve to be kicked out and banned. We play a game of honesty and trust, in fancy dress shooting people with toy guns.

  9. From one big man to another, drink plenty and don't exert yourself, play at your pace even if that's trundling behind the main group. It's a long day walking around carrying gear, you'll be absolutely shattered and aching everywhere by the end but craving another game day the week after! Avoid the cameraman too, they take very unflattering photos unless it's a upper torso and headshot 😂 Have fun and let us know how it goes!

  10. Well my pews are cased up, kit bag filled, chest rig & belt kit magged up (no bb's yet to avoid mid cap syndrome). Liquids in the car already, I might go all sensible & get some bananas for munchies. Taking my TM URG-I, A&K LR300 & Umarex HK416A5 First gameday since January, pretty sure I'll have melted by lunchtime.

  11. This popped up on my faceache feed, thought I'd share. 𝗨𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗨 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝘅 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗥𝗜𝗙𝘀 UKAPU has recently supported one of our members with regards to an import of airsoft replicas into the UK that turned out to be a rather difficult case, which shockingly spanned nearly two years from the date of seizure to resolution. Our member approached us almost a year after the consignment was seized by Border Force, after they had experienced difficulties attempting to prove to Border Force that our member had good reason to import realistic imitation replicas into the UK. Whilst we supported our member by means of comprehensive written submissions both to Border Force and the First-tier Tribunal (Tax), ultimately the Tribunal Judge decided the case in favour of our member due to procedural issues unconnected with our written submissions. We were left in no doubt however that our written submissions had a positive outcome on these proceedings and possible future proceedings. Sadly due to the considerable time delay between the seizure and when the cause was concluded, Border Force had destroyed our member’s consignment however Border Force swiftly and fully compensated them for their financial losses. We at UKAPU would like to commend our member, for their resilience with dealing this matter. If you have any issues with importing replicas into the UK, then UKAPU is here to help. In their own words, they didn't win the case but it's good to see some positive involvement.

  12. Apologies for reviving a dead thread (haven't been here for a while) however I thought I'd explain what happened here. I didn't wish to explain it in detail at the time but seeing how it's been misinterpreted here, I thought I'd clear things up A long while before the member contacted UKAPU, he had attempted to import airsoft replicas into the UK however poorly explained his defence to Border Force. Off the back of that misunderstanding they seized his entire consignment, and it turns out that one crucial letter that was supposed to be sent by BF didn't make its way to the member. That'll be important later. Several months later he gets in touch with us, fails to win the appeal with BF so off he went to the tax tribunal. Several more months after that, we're all in what basically is a Zoom call with a judge, his clerk, a couple of folks from the Home Office and their solicitor. Rather than deal with legislation related to the airsoft defences, the judge quite rightly spotted the procedural issue (the missing letter) and directed the Home Office (so, BF) to reconsider the member's condemnation appeal, in full consideration of any valid defences. The judge remarked how complicated legislation related to airsoft was (the written submission I put together was rather extensive), so I suspect he was rather very happy to find a procedural issue he immediately issue a judgment against, rather than needing to dive into figuring out intended meanings of statutory instruments.

  13. More spending abound: 2x Stanley Fat Max waterproof deep organisers - currently have a massive pile of spares dotted around in jiffy bags, spare ikea lunchboxes and even a fishing tacklebox, Toolstation had a deal on 2 for £32 of the normally significantly more expensive waterproof ones, so nabbed that. Guarder Recoil Buffer - because WE M4 is getting pretty severe bolt bounce and is causing misfeeding galore, shifting weights should fix that (hopefully) Silverback GBB Bucking 4 pack - wasn't sure what hardness to choose for the Scar now it's semi locked and intending to run it at 1.8J, so bought the 1 of each option.

  15. For me, it’s people who message with questions, do you still have, what’s your best price etc etc. You answer, then hear nothing, sometimes it shows as not even read. I don’t mind if I don’t sell the item, but can’t stand rudeness. Why ask if you can’t even be bothered to read the answer. 🤬

  25. Well done to them; locking out via an ETU or mosfet should be acceptable. I know that the argument against is "But you can reprogramme it." However, how many sites actually check that DMRs really are mechanically locked?

  26. I got the NVG's from Aliexpress and it was delivered for £566 which is about the price of a Tm NGRS. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006816652648.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.29.136c1802fL5pMX The price listed is £649 but when I went to buy them they knocked off £100 at checkout. Not sure if this is for everyone but I wasn't going to complain. I'll try to stick up a video showing the quality (once it gets dark!)

Somewhat of a rarity now a days, the A&K M60 is one of the most iconic LMGs out there. This one has the Bullgear hop unit equipped and it sends BBs ridiculously far consistently and for as long as you can hold the trigger. The mag is standard and I’ve not had the usual feeding issues that these suffer with so have left it as is. There is a small cut out in the side of the casing allowing you to access the control switch. Included in the sale is the small length of about 17 7.62 nato rounds with links for that realistic feeling. They don’t click in properly but will stay in place when you close the top cover making it look the part. Unable to post as there is no box and it weighs as much as a neutron star, but more than happy to meet local-ish to Ferrybridge.

  28. PVS-31 Digital NVG. Not as good as my Gen 3 PVS-14 but better than my Sionyx. Still needs a IR source for complete darkness but in low light they are very clear. Another nice touch is you can switch from green to Phos, B&W and a strange brownish colour. This is the Pro version so you can run off the external battery pack or run it on a single 14500 battery

    Gun picture thread

I was going to fork out for an LCT dog tail and the ugly keymod handguard... Then I remembered the Zenitco SPORT kits don't rely on the retainer so much. Had to cut out the bottom of the rail to accommodate the gas block (AK74/105 gas block sits more forwards and the sport kit has a hole already for it). Rail isn't very pretty due to countless games and abuse but it looks pretty good on the RPK if I say so myself

  33. Building the Ultimate Lightweight HPA LMG: My S&T M249 MK2 SAW Project Going through my airsoft collection, I realized I was missing one key piece — an LMG. Naturally, I thought: why not? I didn’t expect it to become one of the most frustrating builds of my airsoft life. From the start, I knew I was going to HPA it, especially since I had a Backdraft Phoenix engine lying around — a solid engine, though a bit inconsistent in DMR roles. Why I Picked the S&T M249 MK2 SAW Let’s be real — the S&T M249 is just a rebranded A&K Featherweight (also sold under Cybergun), but with a few advantages: V2 gearbox (sounds great at first… more on that later) Lightweight — only 4kg, compared to 5.5–6kg for most other M249s Cheap — cost me just £200 At first, the V2 gearbox and light weight seemed like a win. But that big proprietary nozzle and body flex quickly turned into a massive headache. Out-of-the-Box Performance Running a 7.4V battery, it gave me: 12 RPS 1.1J 30m accuracy with a torso-sized spread Not bad for £200. Decent compression, a metal rack piston, basic MOSFET locked to full auto. It worked — but it wasn’t good. Goals for the Build Fix the weak plastic stock Tighten up the shot spread Increase rate of fire Get consistent mag feeding The Build Process Body Flex & Rail Replacement Because the gun is so light, body flex was a huge issue — even minor misalignment can cause major problems with HPA. I replaced the plastic top and bottom rails with metal ones and added bracing plates. This significantly stiffened the gun and improved alignment. Engine & Electronics Installed the Backdraft Phoenix HPA engine and wired it to a Gate Aster II for better control. Problems started immediately: Sporadic shots Inconsistent feeding Laser shot followed by a 2-meter fart Hop-Up & Feed Ramp Hell The stock hop-up is garbage — cheap, flimsy plastic with lots of flex. Swapped to: Bullgear Featherweight M249 Hop-Up — improved consistency, but feeding issues remained Tried: Drilling stock feed ramp — BBs jammed Anttech feed ramp — flimsy 3-part design, reintroduced flex and made things worse Final Solution: Found a 3D model of the original feed ramp by Gazadonf77 Printed in PA12 nylon (MJF) via 3D People Game changer — fixed all feeding issues Bucking & Barrel Testing Bucking Results: Prometheus Purple: Good but had flyers every 5 shots Quantum: Best range (50–60m), but overhopped everything and grouping was meh Maple Leaf 60°: Winner — torso-size grouping at 50–60m with 0.30g BBs, great price-to-performance Tip: With Bullgear hop-up, use high elasticity buckings. Stiffer ones perform worse. Barrel Results: XT 6.00mm: Tight bore, low PSI, bad consistency ZCI 6.02mm: Better, but still not quite there Stalker Morpheus 6.03mm: Extended crown = more range (70m), but groupings were wild PDI 6.05mm: Winner — 55–65m range, best consistency, 2–3 inch spread. Uses more air but totally worth it. Magazines: A Comedy of Errors The stock S&T mag (9V battery) fed only 12 RPS — upgraded to 7.4V LiPo, gained speed, then shredded the gears (poor plastic internals). Tried: Lonex 200rd & EPM1: Fed great, but too low capacity for an LMG Classic Army M249 mag: Worst of all — inconsistent, weak, loud motor Novritsch M249 mag: Winner — actually a rebranded A&K 2000rd box mag, fed up to 30 RPS on both 7.4V and 9V. Responsive mic, auto shutoff, and only £75. Stock Upgrade The original SAW stock is huge and ideal for batteries, but looks awkward and feels cheap. Didn’t want to pay £50 for a CNC adapter, so: Found an STL file by CitrusPers - Stock adapter Got it printed by 3D People Now using M4 buffer tube + compact stock = lighter and more ergonomic Final Build & Cost Breakdown Part Price S&T M249 MK2 £200 PDI 6.05mm Barrel £60 Backdraft Phoenix HPA Engine £250 (already owned) Gate Aster 2 £65 (already owned) A&K 2000rd Box Mag £75 Bullgear Hop-Up Unit £60 Custom Feed Ramp & Stock Adapter (PA12) £50 Total: ~£760 Final Verdict What I have now is a lightweight LMG, feeding 0.30g–0.32g BBs reliably, with: 55–65m effective range Consistent grouping (~2–3 inch spread) 30 RPS at 1.1J 3,500–4,000 rounds per 48ci tank @ 70 PSI Great for suppressive fire, fun skirmishing, and surprising people who think it can’t reach them. Would I do it again? Probably not. Am I happy with it? Hell yes. Little video of the bad boy shooting

  34. Experiments with two sets. First one is soft posture and motorised, quite light setup, mostly Arktis Crossrig with WAS pouches coupled with a WAS battle belt with mostly Arktis pouches. Second one is dismounted long range/deep recce, heavier setup with OD PLCE attached to a BHI OD LBV to boost ammo capacity. Pics taken at Red Alert (Newbury) by the immensely talented Dan Wiltshire. P.S. No googles because no game, mags were empty, RIF was cleared by the photographer himself.
