  4. So in my example of an ICS SIg 551 MRS where I bought it as New Old Stock and in basic testing I found it to be firing hot, the hop rubber had perished and I had to Model and 3D print in steel a proprietary part. Would this still not be considered "As New"? When selling stuff, you only get a "As New" and "Used" Option. "As new" by dictionary default is not Brand New, but it's closer to "Like New". So no warranty can be implied by "As New".

  6. You're correct, they're not allowed here, in fact anyone who's found to be repeatedly selling new stuff, say purchased cheaply on Aliexpress & then immediately posting it here at a higher price is quickly banned. That's not to say that members can't ask whatever they want for items, or claim they're "new", but they need to be aware that they'll usually be quickly outed on threads such as Macks, or even on their own sales ads in the comments section, as you've pointed out, technically nothing sold here can claim new status if it's not accompanied by a full warranty & all it entails. All we do ask is that if your going to post on someone else's ad, please be polite, be constructive & maybe share a valid link to show their price is overly optimistic. If their response is negative, feel free to rip the ? out of them on Macks ?.

  8. Super lightweight challenge-mode kit. No ghillie, no camo, very limited rifle ammo (4x 10rd mags for the rifle) Upside is it's incredibly lightweight and super breathable; that Austrian summer kit is so nice. Got spare ammo and gas in the backpack so I'm not going back to the safe zone too much, but being limited to 40 shots with the rifle before having to reload is great for honing the skill to pick your shots and be accurate.

  9. My understanding of the options: As New = unmarked, stock, no visible signs of use. Used = working but visible signs of wear & tear. Obviously anybody can claim something is brand spanking new, never fired, but as with most things in airsoft, including gameplay, everything is based on trust. & if we can't trust players to take their hits, what hope have we got that they'll be more honest in their financial dealings. So claims of new must be taken with a pinch of salt, only pay what you think something is genuinely worth, & always use a protected payment system. As for what your selling Rob, goes without saying that you're one of the core of members who has exceptional, often rare kit, that is meticulously looked after, so if you say it's as new, then it definitely is.

  13. Keep seeing adverts on the forum for “Brand New Guns” often at full or even more than the retail price from dealers. A s/h gun can be as new, but it’s not brand new because the seller purchased it, it’s therefore s/h. Unless of course the seller is actually a dealer then it should come with warranty, able to be returned under distance selling rules etc. And I am not sure that dealers are even allowed to use the sales section on here.

  14. Hi all, I couldn’t find a thread specifically about the GHM9, so I thought I’d start one. I previously had two, the GHM9-G (glock mags) and GHM9-K (MP9 mags). I sold the GHM9-K recently as I didn’t use it. But I kept the GHM9-G as I use it and want to use it more. I really like it, however out of the box it has one big flaw - it’s gas efficiency. The stock mag only allows you to load 30bbs, which I think was probably strategic when they realised it wouldn’t finish a long mag. It would be fine in the height of summer, I could finish a 50rd mag. But terrible in typical British weather. Recently I’ve fitted a 230mm TBB which is hidden in the supressor and runs into a tracer. However, the muzzle energy shot up from 1.1J to 1.6J. This prompted me to find a way to reduce the muzzle power and increase the gas efficiency. This resulted in a nozzle valve spacer and a short stroke spacer. I also found my GHM9 stock had nothing on the end, so I made a knurled butt plate for the stock. I don’t have any photos, but there was quite a bit of work involved in getting guarder magazines to fit. I’ll have to wait until winter, but I’m hoping the end result is something that runs all year around!

  15. Pretty much my parts list for my own DE UTR project - I was just waiting on finally pulling the trigger on a dremel but seeing as you can just hand-file the screw post away from your posts I might try and tackle it this weekend, we'll see Brushless is a real gamechanger - they run so much cooler than normal motors and it means you can drop down to a 7.4v without losing much in the way of speed or response which really helps with your temperature, and you can just use the Perun's ROF reduction if you want to keep running 11.1v instead if you think it's going a bit too quick for your liking. I ran one of the XT vented-motors (22 TPA) with my UTR when it still had the falcon fire and the standard DE gears and it made a serious difference if you think brushless is a little too pricey or scary to think about lol

  16. I always take that claim with a pinch of salt regardless of who makes it. Just because the seller didn't fire it, that doesn't mean a QA technician in the factory, distributor, retailer, prospective customer in the shop, etc, didn't fire it to make sure the gun worked, do a test fire to see if they liked it or to see it was within legal limits for example. I assume it had been fired a few times before at some point between being manufactured and landing in the hands of the seller. At least 3 of my guns have test fire cards/sheets in the box so I know the "never fired" claim is untrue anyway.

  20. Went to an evening game at the Invicta Black Site with @VictorFourTwo as a bit of a warm up ahead of an urban battlesim this weekend. As mostly woodland players, we just wanted a bit of a shake down. It was little bit of a mixed bag from my perspective, entirely because of one player, but we had a pretty good time anyway. Games were quite simple: first two games were domination with illuminated coloured beacons. Turn red on if you're red, blue if you're blue etc. Second game there were red and blue beacons dotted around the floor, and you had to retrieve them then bring them back to the spawn. From the outset, I was worried the traffic might be one way. Black site is a small, tight CQB arena with no lighting and lots of dead ends/cut throughts, so knowing your way around is huge advantage. All of the regulars set up on one table, then they all got put on the red team. But of a dud move from the folks running it in my opinion. The domination game did end up that way, with all the regulars knowing the sneaky little places to hide and pretty much locking us in the spawn for 10 minutes, but the second game that involved more movement was closely matched. There was also one regular who accused me of not taking my hits twice, which was a bit lame to be honest then whinged I was 'slow' to take one later one. In the penultimate game of the evening, the same player did the nonchalant dead player style walk past a few of us then shot us in the back. Again, just a bit lame really - genuinely never seen the point of doing that and it just tempts other people into shooting everyone they see just in case. It was only my second time there and said player was there both times. I think I'd give it another go but if that player is there again, acting the same way, that would be it for me.

    THE TM MWS thread

Nope. It's designed for the significantly heavier BCG used in the T8/CGS system, it'll put extra unnecessary tension into the FCG and will undoubtedly cause the bolt catch to stop working.

    Which MP7?

I'll now bore you to death, though, I've a fair bit of experience with GBB MP7 brands (minus KWA). VFC - You should only really stick to the Gen2 (most if not all retailers stock them now unless you get shafted in a dodgy sale). It's full scale with all the proper trades to make people like me happy and it performs very nicely out of the box. It can mag-dump on auto however don't expect the best when its colder. The internals are relatively straight forward and they're fine longevity wise as long as you don't abuse them. There is also the infamous "rear plate crack", as to which seems the only common problem so far, however, VFC sell replacements and aftermarket aluminium ones are available, though, as long as you stick to propane all year long it shouldn't give you any grief. My only personal dislikes are the rather sloppy controls (whilst all MP7's are mushy this one seems to be worse) and the hop unit is very twitchy when using lower weight BB's, though it may be a me problem. The magazine baseplates (and the nub on the follower that keeps it in place) are also incredibly flimsy so try not to drop them. If you do end up breaking a nub, you can drill a small 2mm hole and insert a 2.5mm plug (can just be ground flat) tap into it, then add a small M2.5mm grub screw into it (ideally with some Green Loctite). Tokyo Marui - The TM is pretty much one of the all timers in terms of GBB SMG's. Whilst it comes with the correct trading, it is 8% smaller than the VFC (or its real counterpart). I don't mind it as it makes it just a little more tactile and the magazines fit in my pouches easier, however, people with large hands and gloves may struggle slightly. Performance wise, its more than likely the best you'll ever get as its punchy, has a decent range and accuracy and it will pretty much auto mag-dump any time of the year. Internally, there is the infamous "inside shell crack". This can be prevented by using the sling swivel (which absorbs and dissipates energy from the bolt) and keeping the gas on propane or 144a- my one went on for over 2 years with little sign of wear/damage. If you get it, you will more than likely notice it as the gun with either become very unpredictable when it fires, or just stop working completely, and there's not much you can do about it. There's no spares and no real way to repair it. I also noticed that the bolt catch would only work with the stock collapsed after about a year. My personal dislikes don't go too far with it, I'm not a fan of the reverse bolt release and the weight as to which is can hop is quite limited (about a 0.28g) max. The piston cup would also swell a lot, causing jams. There were suggestions to just dump a load of silicone oil into it, but whilst it works, its unhealthy for pretty much every other aspect of the gun and it doesn't last long. WE SMG8 + Rice MP7 - The SMG8 undoubtedly is quite an ugly sight. It's quite cumbersome and clunky. Performance wise its quite crap. It'll get by fine on semi but auto mag-dumps are quite an achievement to complete, and it really will not like the cold. The hop unit is not the best and its quite hard to adjust sometimes (it also requires a tool). Aside from that, it's efficient enough. The Rice MP7 is also fine, it feels a bit nicer and its a little more user friendly. It performs well enough to be enjoyable, and it can auto-dump, but certainly not greatly. It will handle relatively cold temperatures but don't expect much. The range is a little rubbish and the accuracy is fine. These 2 MP7s are prone to breakdowns quite often, as they are internally made of the finest cheese, however, should you identify a broken part, WE have used all the worlds natural resources to create every spare part so you can easily just replace it and keep chugging along, which I suppose is rather nice, though, its much more of a headache than the potential issues that arise from the TM or the VFC (though the headache a TM gives when its broken is arguably worse). Basically just get a VFC or a TM and don't ramp up the gas pressure, you should be fine.
