    Gun picture thread

Have been working on this for a few years now and still missing a few minor bits, but getting closer and closer to a screen accurate "TTI TR-1 Ultimate Ultralight AR-15" from JohnWick Chapter 2. Base gun is an MWS, the receiver and barrel set are from the old AG kit, internals are a bit of a mix, but everything else than can be RS is RS (Real-Steel). Only thing I cant bloody find is the throw-lever (ac20007) 🙄 -

  4. I find both of them a refreshing change to many of the other firearms channels where they're like a kid with ADHD who's swapped their ritalin for a redbull

  7. When it was running, RIFT Airsoft's Battery CQB (mix of indoor and outdoor) site didn't allow pyro at all in part because of that concern. Though there were multiple access points, it would have been all too easy to turn most (if not all) of them into choke points when there were more than 20 or so players on each side. In the (outdoor) CQB section of its Redcon site, pyro's only real restrictions that I recall are underarm throwing and that you can't throw blindly. The entrances/exits of it force you to advance to throw pyro in a useful area and thus expose yourself to oncoming fire.

  10. Interestingly the biggest speedsoft events e.g. SpeedQB actually has rules against binaries or other "advantageous programming of FCU". And penalties for overkilling.

  11. I've always used this video to help me when it's been a while since I haven't programmed a UV-5R. Keep it simple, write down the settings and do them one at a time 👍🏼

  13. They're harder to come by, but CQB in bigger areas. Such as old schools and factories, rather than a series of 90 degree bends and 2x2m interconnecting rooms. Longer lines of sight, multiple access points and so on. Going back a bit, Beaconsfield had a badger tac sight which was an old academy and was great as it was classrooms, presentation rooms, and old bar and stuff. Too bad the landlord moved up the redevelopment plans.

  15. PMR doesn't need a licence, but you're also only supposed to use a radio with .5W output and a fixed antenna so technically you shouldn't use those frequencies with a UV5R. For the other frequencies yes, you do need a licence. The business light licence is the easiest to get (mine was £75 for a 5 year validity) as it doesn't require exams be passed. That said, many sites have their own licence that will cover you for use on their site (as long as you stick to their approved frequencies) added to which, as long as you're not using Emergency Services frequencies then the chances of actually getting caught and prosecuted are incredibly slim. Not that I'm encouraging ANYONE to break the law. In terms of setting up, get a programming cable and download a copy of CHiRP. That has a preset group of frequencies you can download to your radio that lines up with the Business light licenced frequencies.

  16. Over killing and prefiring are exactly the sort of thing I mean. I takes bugger all skill to just finger bang a hair trigger and spray shots everywhere than it does to take aimed shots and is guaranteed to piss people off. True, but in my experience it's more likely that the guy with the day glow hi cappa adapted to take M4 mags that'll be the problem Unfortunately the kind of person who's going to break site rules on spamming the trigger etc is also less likely to call a hit it it means a long walk to or wait at their respawn

  21. Marshalling CQB is particularly difficult In the best CQB environment Marshall’s can’t see what’s happening unless you have hundreds of them My ideal is the killhouse at NPF Bassets Pole. There is an overhead observation platform, and my preferred method to Marshall it was to put Marshall’s up above, with one inside (me) Those up above enabled observation of gameplay and to keep eyes out for safety, rule compliance and the combination of explicit / implicit game manipulation (directing players to each other) Me inside provided action photography and someone on the ground for action being directed by those above Any more hands available then also be on the ground around the outside There was also the dry year when the use of pyro was banned throughout the site - except for me - I’m ‘responsible’ so I was allowed my SFX pyro, and had containers of water throughout the killhouse (It rained Saturday night which then enabled it to be allowed for the main Sunday game)

It's funny, I haven't looked at TG for pricing for so long that I seem to have missed the bit where they made everything expensive. Their pricing is largely irrelevant seeing as they won't ship to here anyway (unless you want to pay PB to mark it up on top of course).

The RIF itself and the LED torch unit in the front grip cavity. The PEQ has the battery pack for the electroluminescent wiring. 😉 What? You don't think a gas 6-shot shotgun is an elegant solution for the minimum engagement distance? It's quicker than drawing a sidearm, has a better hit probability and sounds awesome. What's not to like? (Other than it contributes to the 6.6kg overall weight, making it somewhat front heavy 😆)

Finally got around to picking up the handguard extension for my SCAR-H DMR. After all the pain of fitting it, I'm not sure I prefer it over the shorter version I was rocking, simply for where the grip and Masterkey now sit (which are a bit too far forward). It's ironic because it was the PR I wanted originally but I couldn't find one at a decent price. Still, it gave me a chance to redress the cam on the rifle and take some shots along the way. Feeling much better now. 😁

Finally got around to doing the thing - WE hi-speed split G17 slide on EMG SAI frame. Shame I won't be using it any time soon Very happy with this for now though!

  26. My Glock Collection so far...just need to find a KJW G26 so I can use a green guarder frame I got on the forum, swap the cut lower on the Glock 17L for a standard frame and get a green gen3 18 and should be done for now. How many is too many, is there a number in this hobby?

  27. A couple of other things I've been working on. I got the EMG speedloader but battery size is limited so I knocked up a base that allows for a larger battery and somewhere to keep all the adapters otherwise I'll lose them in about 5 minutes. I also bought the WELL Rattler and didn't fancy using the PEQ box for the battery so I knocked up a longer rattler style handguard and added a 50mm barrel extension to allow for a saddlebag lipo to be contained inside the handguard. Original handguard is shown to show the size difference.
