  1. Pure ABS is only about 0.12g, and PLA (bio) about 0.2g, so most BBs will have some metals or ceramics in them to add mass. As we get up to 0.4g and above, it gets harder to make the argument that we're actually slinging plastic.

  2. Can you still get the same consistency with CO2 bulbs? I've considered converting my GHK to liquid CO2 and although that offers better mild weather performance than propane, the repeat shot consistency doesn't seem much better than propane as you're still relying on the expansion of a liquid propellant. The idea of a contained HPA DMR sounds great - it's the flappy line that's always put me off the HPA route. Shame the J rating is so low for DMR, I think you're right about just tuning to 1.1.

  3. Yeahhhhhhhhh, the statement I made about not owning an MTW is no longer true as I have now received my MTW 308 Unleashed and it is really nice. Came with a curved trigger instead of that icky straight trigger too, so saved some extra money there too as I would've replaced the straight trigger if I did my build on the regular version. It's A&K SR-25 compatible with the mags, except not quite as my Cyma SR-25 magazines did not fit. Fortunately I picked up some Battleaxe SR-25 mags from someone here a few months ago that didn't quite fit properly in my Cyma SR-25 and they fit (very snug) into this, so I do have mags to use! Taking it to my local site this weekend and obsessively setting it up for 1.88J on .43s as I plan on using it as a DMR, then testing how many shots a single co2 bulb will give me. I love that it only comes with a two position fire selector, so it's very much locked to semi auto. I still need to buy a bunch of external parts from Brownells for it, but that'll be a next month purchase as I really can't justify spending even more than I already have this month. Taking both of them to AI500 next month, so will need to turn the psi down on the regulator as their DMR rules are turbo-crap at 1.48J, so I might just tune it down to 1.14J on a .32 for it but we'll see. Planning on using the SRS anyway, with the MTW as a backup for if the SRS dies, purely because of their bad DMR rules and I have to take it easy since I'll still be on blood thinners, so I'll be hanging back a lot. Also the suppressors arrived, both for the MTW and the SRS I bought recently too. Makes the SRS a lot quieter and I'm very happy with that and hoping it's good on the MTW as well, because I bought the same suppressor (the DTSS .308 one), but 14mm threads instead of the 24mm one on the SRS. Will be pumping up the tank for the MTW today and slapping some cr123s in the grip, so I'll find out later I suppose!

  4. Managed to fix the issue. The bb stopper in the hop chamber wasn't able to move far enough down to actually stop the bbs from all pouring out, and the spring wasn't strong enough. Bit if filing, cutting of plastic and a bit of cut up rhop patch (friend had one he wasn't going to use) and it now cycles. Or at least nothing fills the gap.

  5. @RostokMcSpoons Have you tried Dye tech support ? You’ll need the German office for European support, in the past they’ve just posted out the smalls. (It used to be far easier when they also had a UK tech office, but the German office has been just as good for me) https://shop.dyepaintball.com/pages/contact?srsltid=AfmBOorgmlF_FCfuDTMJrD5JtEd60B-lSZMIzfWkSrPvj1P6OqFKR1RF

  6. Some of the Dye tech manuals are here: https://shop.dyepaintball.com/pages/manuals?srsltid=AfmBOop8pO79BHfo67Zb4XbjDwib7wBlKfLSFWeGatzUYtyy92B0TKbz and one of them gives the internal parts which in this case has the external o-ring (‘standard’ bottle o-ring) as a ‘0015 PU80’ and the internal piston o-rings ‘013 PU80’ and ‘008 PU80’ Assuming the right match you are after the ‘013 PU80’ Parts reference numbers on o-rings usually indicate part of the size, which would imply 13mm - but it’s probably 13mm outter diameter, and perhaps then 11mm inner diameter

  7. The ‘standard’ bottle o-ring would sit further down, which in paintball would be the top of the cylinders bonnet, (as per the images below) whereas your problem o-ring is further up and as discovered a little smaller Almost everything is to an industry standard size ….. but there are many standard sizes to choose from! Am I right in thinking that you’re looking at the internal elements at about 4:20 of this video on regulator servicing ?

  8. to go with the Magul style handguard I was asked to knock up a suppressor that could take a Acetech Brighter S or C and use the TM supplied trilug adapter.

Oh wow - the WA ones (as you probably know) are super rare. I'd suggest jumping into the Heavy Recoil Club Discord and posting in the WA channel. There's lots of us in there who have been keeping these old WAs running. Link here: https://discord.gg/cewwyk5E

  10. As I said, it's either back to school syndrome or post-purchase regret. This is honestly one of the best (or worst for the seller) examples why you should always consider rental for starting out and never spend big on anything you have to two-tone.

  12. Most of the spring guides I've seen use the standard airsoft thrust bearing same as the one used on the piston head. I have plenty spare if you want some however do your spring guides have the function to unscrew to allow a bearing to fit?

  14. Welcome! You can but you would need for the tracer to be no more than ~34mm wide to fit on the outer barrel thread since it's recessed within the handguard when you remove the sound amplifier. The alternative is to get an outer barrel extension so the thread sits proud of the handguard.

  15. For any other use, I would agree, but I think for airsoft spring guide bearings, even the cheapest ones will be more than enough, it is not spinning at any high speed nor needs to be precise nor under any specific high load, as long as it rotates better than a washer, it will have performed its duty As long as it is greased, of course

  16. I'm really not sure it's worth it when AK2M4 sell complete spring guides for a very fair price. However, like many airsoft things there's no guarantee that they'll fit all gearbox shells perfectly (especially if QD).

  18. I thought it might be useful to have a phone mount on my plate carrier so that I can use the Ares Alpha app to see my location, that of the objectives etc. So I got myself a cheap mount from AliExpress that protects the phone and holds it securely in place (in landscape mode) on my chest. I can then simply open it up slightly, see my location on the map and close it again. And then I started testing it: To unlock my iPhone you swipe up from the bottom, however the mount has a strap over the phone to hold it in place and you can’t do it without sliding the phone out. ❌ Face ID on the iPhone only works if it can see your face but I’ll be wearing a mask. ❌ Ok I enable ‘unlock with Apple Watch’ but the phone will not do it when in landscape mode, only portrait mode ❌ So I enter a passcode but I would have to take off my gloves to do that ❌ When the phone is unlocked I can’t actually see anything as it is too close to my face and I would need to wear my reading glasses to see anything detailed. ❌ But apart from that it really works nicely😂

  20. Was asked to knock up a Magpul style MP5 handguard as the real thing seems to be out of stock everywhere. It's not an exact copy but close enough I think. Top one is printed smooth in ABS and the bottom one in PLA using the Bambu labs fuzzy setting.

    THE TM MWS thread

I'm in Japan now so the time has come to join the MWS club. Mostly real gear apart from the charging handle and the can. I have built a lot of firearms but am still a bit of a noob when it comes to airsoft and so, upon seeing this wonderful thread, I binge-read a good seventy five percent of the posts while in anticipation for getting my first proper GBB rifle. Because of this, I feel like I am very well prepared to put this beast together and would like to give a big thanks to Wo1f and all the regular contributors here for all of your knowledge and advice and, by way of reciprocity, should anyone wish to know what's going on in the scene in Japan or have questions about parts and procurement etc. then please send a message. When I am off base and not lumping things around in the heat I will do my best to answer promptly.
