Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

I'm guessing it's because forums have threads like this to call them out on their stupid prices. Also it makes it easier to scam people. If a listing only hints about possibly containing a rif then the buyer has no come back when they find out they've paid £200 for an empty gun bag. I haven't used Ebay for years, it used to be great for bargains but it's now usually cheaper to buy from a proper shop.3 points -
Chrono questions...is it out or not?
Lozart and 2 others reacted to NateChrony for a topic
(full disclosure - I make chronographs) 0.66J vs 1J with 0.28gram is 225fps vs 277fps That's a huge amount of difference in terms of timing. Most of the manufacturing tolerances & timing uncertainty in designs is typically ~10-15fps when shooting 1000fps, with sensor spacing of 50-100mm or so. 50fps at that slow speed is something outside of a chrony's usual issues If it was gas - that could definitely cause an issue, anything that is a liquid & expanding can leave a vapour cloud & cause issues with optical sensors - typically you get high readings as the vapour can move faster than the BB. I'd say the chrony has a fault, take it to the field with you next time & compare side by side to rule out the conditions on the day. You could also possibly open it up & see if you can clean the sensors - cue tip & alcohol should be enough.3 points -

Have you bought any rif's from a dealer since? If you're a regular player at the site that registered you then it's maybe been automatically updated.1 point -
ICS M4 hop up unit replacement options
RichardC reacted to Speedbird_666 for a topic
I play mostly CQB - so hop rubber choice is not as critical for me - I tend to to use the stock ICS hop rubbers on my indoor guns. My only 'outdoor' gun uses a Maple Leaf Macron with an Omega-style nub, but the lips have to be very slightly cut down otherwise there will be feed issues with ICS hop units (plastic and metal) - if you can see the rubber looking down the hop unit from the magwell, you will need to trim it. IMO upgraded rubber/nubs don't make huge difference like you would see on some other brands, my ICS guns are decently accurate enough with their stock setup - it's just that the plastic unit is crap for longevity and break very easily. The metal unit is a simpler, better design that works very well. Never touched a Maxx unit so can't comment on that.1 point -
Thank you - really appreciate the lightning responses on the forum! I will have a think, but the ZCI one you stock looks like it would not be too hard to file down. thanks again Brilliant- thank you. I’ll get in touch with them. Are there any hop rubbers I should steer clear of with that unit? the maxx units would have to be pretty amazing at that price! thanks again1 point

I would get hold of a cheap non-ICS hop chamber and modify that to work. I remember this problem from a few years back, can't remember the model of the AEG or if something like the ZCI plastic worked or not. There's a ICS group on FB, you might find the answer there.1 point

Also make sure you have some silicone grease for the orings as well... I sell a little kit but you use anything that's suitable for orings. You want the fitment on the nozzle to be tight but not overly tight where it restricts movement. Same with the oring on the piston head, needs to seal but not be too tight.1 point

Pop a listing in the classifieds, along with a price and a timestamp (a piece of paper with your username and todays date ) And as much info as possible manufacturer, fps, leaks, etc 👍1 point -

As has been said, rifs are banned on eBay, I've seen numerous attempts by people to sneak them on, pics of gun bags with cryptic hints at the contents & various other dodgy descriptions obviously meant to confuse who or whatever checks listing's, I've yet to see a listing make it to the end of auction or obvious sale, they always disappear in their entirety. Gotta wonder, why go to all that trouble when there's a few forums, as well as numerous selling sites that will accommodate all manner of rifs.1 point
