  1. signed, but nothing will change. Even if a million people sign that petition there's still 59 million who haven't. The red tops and other sensationalist newspapers would tear the government to bits if they re legalised any kind of pistol (other than muzzle loaders, which are still legal!). I can see the headlines now: "Britain braced for more Dunblane style massacres" "GUN TERROR AS PISTOLS FLOOD STREETS" "Space Pakis steal corpse of Lady Diana using newly legalised pistols" (Daily Mail) As much as I'd love for .22 pistols to be decriminalised the anti-gun lobby have more numbers (just take a look at mums net... they'd ban nerf guns if they could!) and more of a sensational argument.

  2. Hi guy's https://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/62588 Please take a look at this petition. At the end of the day we are all 'shooters' and all have an interest in guns. Whether you shoot real steel or not, please don't repeat our past and not support other shooters out there because it doesn't affect you. After all, we own the very existence of Airsoft to 'real steel' so please continue to support it's existence in civilian life and fun pass times. An example for why I am signing... Even though I am soon to bunk off to the Channel Islands, to take up disciplines I am deprived of on the mainland. Whether this petition passes or fails is irrelevant to me come a few weeks from now. I won't just be shooting .22 pistol, but centrefire calibres in both Handguns and semi-automatic rifles. I am still wanting to support my fellow Brits persisting with their shooting on the mainland however. This is a petition to legalise .22 pistols. It has received the backing of big shooting organisations such as BASC and the UK NRA. This petition was started by Firearms UK. Firearms UK have bought a tonne of posters advertising this petition. If you would like any and have suitable locations to pin them up that will attract attention, please contact Erika Sykes (member of Firearms UK) and state how many you would like and where you would like them posted to. Posters and postage are free. Erika Sykes email: [email protected] Firearms UK Website Address: http://firearmsuk.org/ Petition: https://submissions.epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/62588

  3. Speaking of that Ian I should have that translation finished tomorrow. it's actually more grammar correction since most technical words have been translated correctly,I'm just making it readable. Anyhoo, another loadout I'm planning and saving for is Ukrainian Recon,as is my current one but in some juicy flecktarn-I'm also wanting to get a SRC or JG G36C and tune it up to go with this, however all the funds I save keep ending up in the form of VSR 10 parts It's the bloke on the left-The one on the right is roughly my current inspiration but instead of what looks like a recolored CIRAS I'm running ALICE gear

  4. This has been frustrating me too recently and I honestly don't think it has anything to do with scale. I previously worked in online sale for motorbike clothing and gear, selling mostly top end stuff. There are more people in the uk willing to pay £200 for airsoft than £1200 for a leather jacket. Some stuff was mass produced in the millions and some stuff was limited production runs of 500 for the entire world, we still managed to be able to get hold of stock when we needed it, and if we didn't or couldn't I made it invisible from the customer, but was still on the site and indexable. We had problems with the Italians, such as aprilia because they shut down for the summer. But never the problems we seem to have with airsoft. I don't know the ins and outs of how the airsoft industry works, but retail works on two main supply principles. Distribution and direct import. As far as I can see there are no uk distributors for products. People who import millions of pounds worth of stock into a central uk warehouse and distribute it out to the dealer, who sells it out to the customer. What I believe happens is the shops place their order direct with the factory and import what they want each year. Inevitably meaning that everyone imports the same popular stuff because they know it will sell, and having stock on a shelf not sell is bad. The problem with this method is you are limited by your bank account as to how much stock you can import. You are limited to how much much your bank account can grow because of how much you can sell. And in this economic climate it's difficult to get grants or loans for huge amounts of stock. Meaning the shops are left ultimately stagnating. And don't even get me started on the preowned market, where people believe it's acceptable to sell second hand stuff at 80% retail price.

  5. Hi all i haven't been yet, but have got my first skirmish booked for a week Sunday, with a group of friends from work, im sure im going to love it. i will accept i'm jumping the gun (no pun intended ), but i would like some advice on guns. im interested in the M4 variant, and was wondering what the difference between the M4A1 and the HK416 - or even the HK417 are - from the airsoft point of view. are the essentially the same gun? do they have compatible mags? i know that the M4 is a very popular type of gun and that the potential of being able to borrow a Mag if you are empty is increased. many thanks Chris

  6. Its remarkable how little of the things listed on the websites of the various firms around the UK is actually in stock. Having finally found an item in stock today ordered and get an email a few hours later telling me alas they were sorry the stock count was wrong and it'll be 3 weeks. The whole point of having UK retailers is for them to hold the stock so we can get it quickly rather than waiting 3 weeks for hong kong imports! Vent over.

Hi all. Sorry to admins if posted in the wrong place. I have a TM Glock 17 gen 3. I have 3 leak free mags, night sights, Blackhawk CQC serpa. All in good working order except missing screws for the sera. I'm thinking of selling it Just wandering what sort of price I could sell it for? I was thinking about £140 is this reasonable.

^^Let's be fair here, they do look a bit more like a bunch of thieves who just happened to each know somebody with enough sense not to be photographed, or indeed to be elsewhere while the job is in hand, than they do a military unit. Love it!

£140 is very reasonable compared to £170 for new because he's including 2 extra mags and night sights with the Glock. The exact weapon with tritium insert sights and 2 extra mags comes to £206.50 incl. shipping off firesupport.co.uk. With the holster is an extra £40 from tactical-kit.co.uk. I'd say that's more than a fair price. But that's my 2p's worth.

  13. You're right, Nuts, there is no UK distributor importing a £1M+ worth of stock, but there are retailers acting as sole distributors for certain brands, but on a much smaller scale; for eg Fire Support are ICS for England & Wales and Land Warrior are ICS for Scotland - now in one way this makes no sense at all, in that surely tf national boundaries have less impact than the texture of shite on our boots on the already relatively small market for the whole of airsoft, let alone ICS products in particular, but FS have occasionally really taken the piss over prices (even of stuff that wasn't in stock lol) and I suspect that without LW as competition, Frank would get in there and dip his bread at every opportunity. I swear to you, I imported a set of ICS fast & quiet helical gears MC-108 from the USA, paying the VAT and courier fee, and it was still cheaper than Frank quoted me over the phone and a week faster too... And then there's Zero One and the infamous "we'll have 'em soon, honest" CYMA CM.048 and CM.048M... how can it be over £40 cheaper to get one imported from Poland when you add in postage (free from Poland ffs)? These are not niche items. If you don't want an M4, or you do want an opfor gun, they are the best available as an alternative to wombat machines. But with Airsoft World and Action Hobbies muscling in, somehow none of 'em are managing to keep CYMA/Cybergun in stock reliably. But there are distributors, like a good bloke who is into airsoft for the love of it as well as making a few quid who supplies ammo and pyros to a fair few sites, probably most in the East Mids/South Yorks, as well as some guns and spares... but he is pretty limited in what he gets and it's for the reasons already outlined: he just hasn't got the capital to keep stock on the shelves which may not sell before he needs to scrape his cash and pre-orders together for the next import. Also there isn't enough money in it for him to do nothing else to make a living. Another company, made up of people who came into it from love of the sport/hobby and have translated that now into literally the best customer service ethic I've ever come across bar none, genuinely do do their best to get anything people ask for and if you talk to them in person will attempt to beat any price you can show them is legit, but... they don't have the spending power of even the small time 'distributors' or the larger retailer-cum-distributors. So we are currently stuck between people who would love to have piles of whatever we want and sheds full of old/rare stuff that they themselves would dip into frequently, but just don't have the money to do that, and people who may well have had a love of the sport/hobby but in trying to make a living now come over as if they would simply love to have sheds full of our money. In my estimation our only way forward is to grow the market... paintball has made several multi-millionaires - airsoft is slowly but surely taking over the 'combat shooting game' market so it has the potential to become huge, but it also has the potential to get very expensive, if a few larger companies manage to raise the kind of capital which would deliver the stock levels we would prefer but the market does not grow as rapidly as forecast...

  14. I was reading about this recently actually and I think the HK416 is considered to be an M4. I haven't owned one myself so I can't tell you how similar they are internally, although the 416 does look really good (much cooler than standard M4A1) If you have the money, there is the TM Recoil Shock 416D. Tokyo Marui are widely accepted as the best airsoft gun manufacturer for both rifles and pistols. Their performance is second to none, and build quality is pretty good I think. However, this is reflected in the high price! Personally I am going to get a KWA RM4 ERG one day which is the competitor to Marui's Recoil Shock series, but around £200 or so cheaper. Again, to be honest I can't comment on magazines either. I do know that the 417 uses proprietary mags, but not sure about the 416. I'm sure you'll get some other replies soon enough that will be able to help you out a lot more. Finally, I saw Elite Force are going to release a HK416 but I don't know when it will be available or anything. Whichever gun you choose to get, I would say make sure it has plenty of good reviews and is popular. I made bad decisions with my first two guns and then found out neither are actually that good and I would have much rather bought something else. Anyway, welcome to the forums and enjoy the skirmish! By the way, the G&G Combat Machine M4s are THE BEST guns for a beginner. Literally everyone recommends them. Although it has a polymer receiver the external quality is excellent, as are the internals. It's affordable too (from £117)

  15. I've noticed this and recently the only websites I've been looking at are either eHobby Asia, RSOV, Gunfire and Taiwan Gun. (Plus a quick look on Airsoft-Club and Redwolf too) Shipping prices are expensive but more times than not the stuff still works out cheaper than from the UK. For example, box set of 8 MAG MP5 magazines. Airsoft Supply Drop ~ £60 delivered. RSOV - £45 shipped (IIRC) Tokyo Marui Glock 17 (Gen 3) - $182 or £108.40. ($39 of that is for shipping)

  16. I think one thing that would help a lot is if shops actually bothered having a filter to only show in stock items. Loads of shops in the UK and overseas don't seem to have this facility. It's all well and good showing a list of 50 GBB pistols, but when you've got 7 in stock and may not ever restock some of them, then what exactly is the point? If people want a specific model they will almost certainly search for it, unless said website has a crap search tool which is another issue entirely. I would not be surprised at all if shops were creating work for themselves by constantly fielding queries about new stock of items that aren't in production any more. Seems a bit silly, maybe it is just me lol.

    Gun picture thread

First posting of my gun pic :-) JG Sig 552 purchased from forum member. I have added some externals to it as it was already upgraded internally. So the suppressor, light, grip and red dot are new to the gun, still waiting on a cheek riser. First skirmish with it this Sunday.

    Velcro nameplates

problem with having your nametape on your shirt is that as soon as you put a chest rig or plate carrier on the tape is obscured, makes more sense to have it velcro backed so you can just stick it on to whatever load carrying equipment you're wearing, or the back of a helmet, or a sleeve pocket... you get the idea! Lots of people have various different kit for playing in different places or at different times of year, with the name tapes and patches velcro backed you can move them between kit easily, sewing them on to everything would take hours and cost a fortune in name tapes!

  22. Blaster .30gs. Very consistant BBs. I am a bit concerned for some visible mold lines but according to a micrometer they are very consistant,Most around 5.95-5.98mm range, which, although not as good as Devil .28s which I've averaged at round 5.95-5.96 is decent enough. Not a single air bubble to be seen and the casting looks very good. I'm making very tight groupings at 35m,about 14x15cm,hitting a man size target easily at 50m and able to git a cherry tomato at 15m. Note, this is after washing them thoroughly. When comparing washed to unwashed they feel noticeably more greasy, and reek of mold release agent. Recommend washing them. Blaster Devil .28s are not as greasy and do not reek as badly. Pretty okay price at 17 euro a bottle.

  26. There are a lot of airsoft retailers in general, but most of them do seem to be kind of small and low on stock of most items. The ones in hong kong seem to have most things in stock but its also weeks away. There clearly isn't enough airsofters in the UK to keep a bigger store going, or a lot of the purchasing is done locally in stores rather than on the internet. Getting a pair of lopro regulator googles is proving to be near on impossible, everyone seems to be out of stock (a few of them said they had stock but then I ordered and well then they didn't). Most of the websites are also kind of hard to navigate. Wolfarmouries might actually have stock but they have the worst website I have seen in ages, its really bad. Yet those with good websites seem to be out of stock of everything or only stock one brand of gun/sight/clothing etc and hence aren't much use. Its actually kind of frustrating trying to gear up relatively quickly.

  27. A lot of websites aren't updated in any meaningful way. Best I have seen is Gunfire, they have an live stock control that updates the site as stuff goes in and out of stock. Most sites just have a manual system where it needs someone to go on and change the status when they can be bothered. Plus it is easier to leave an item on the site than it is to remove and re-add as it comes in and out of stock. LIt makes your site look bigger to have more items listed even if you don't have them.
    1 point
  28. What annoys me is when they have discontinued or rare items still listed on their sites but as out of stock. Case in point when I was after my Maruzen CA870: took me a year or so before ZeroOne got a batch in stock - despite them (as well as many others) having them listed on their websites without a way of knowing when they'd be likely to get a restock.
