I'd imagine it's just going to be a fun gun, but fairly impractical outside of CQB. It'll probably lead to a lot of butthurt as I've heard enough people complaining after getting shot with my M870 on Abbey Ultra saying it's not fair as that doesn't count as single shot etc.

I think it's going to be a lot of fun to use, but it's only .6J from what I've read about it, that's like 255fps? So it won't be very competitive in an outdoor environment, and in CQB you won't be able to use full auto.

To me that kinda nullifies the whole purpose of it. If you can only use it on semi at 250fps then even in CQB I'd rather have a pump action with a bit more oomph because side stepping shots at that speed isn't remotely difficult, even at 20 or so metres, and at that price point I'd want something a bit more interesting to look at... 'cos it's just a box really. I like being able to fiddle with controls, bolt locks, releases, charging handles, sexual metallic noises etc etc.

It's looking set to be into the £400 bracket too, probably higher because it's a big sensationalist thing and the UK retailers are rip off merchants.

If I get the chance to have a go, I'm not going to turn it down. But I wouldn't even entertain the idea of buying one.

I see it more as a successful technical exercise. Now they need to adapt it, improve it, and make it fit into more platforms - Namely an M1014.

Hate to say this, but I'll probably wait a year from release, see if there are any clones on the horizon, and then decide whether to buy the TM one or the clone, as I'm a bit worried about the, potentially, totally proprietary gearbox which won't be able to handle stronger springs, as realistically I'd want at least 300fps.

But the idea looks awesome.

To be honest, at the price it will probably be sold at, there isn't much point in getting it. You could get a lot of much more powerful guns with much better customisation available. I'm going with Airsoft-Ed on this one. Let this just be the basic design, when work on making it better. And preferably cheaper

You can say that about most guns though but then we'd all end up with combat machines and the like. That's the price we pay for new systems in new guns- and in this case, one that people have been asking for for years. Even if it doesn't sell all that well over here they'll sell out in Japan instantly anyway so it's win/win. TM sell loads and people get the gun they've wanted forever

Fair enough.

Guest PT247

trouble is, in Japan the max fps is 270 ish iirc, so this will be very skirmishable there. If it can handle 350 fps with a spring upgrade then it could be awesome over here!

Forgive my total noobish ignorance but at first glance of post I thought at last a proper AK12

I know jack about models especially if it ain't a CM - lol

I'm sure somebody did their own similar looking drum mofo thingy just like this

(sure it was somebody in europe eg: france perhaps ???

and wasn't so keen on it then and not so keen on it now - it just ain't my cuppa tea

can't see me with it but totally understand it would be one heck of a gun/shotgun for the higher end peeps out there

don't matter what anybody thinks in the end - if the potential owner likes it and can afford why gives a f*ck what me or anybody else thinks

anything new is good news - creative new ideas & concepts/designs is what keeps us humans ever moving forward
