  1. M mumI have the 1.25-5 vision king LPVO, and it's served me well very well so far. It's usually been on my GBBR and it seems to have withstood the strong recoil on that just fine. So a thumbs-up from on build quality Other airsofters who have taken a look through it all said nice things too, which suggests the optional quality is decent. (I've taken the suggestion to never look through an optic you can't afford onboard, but more by luck than anything else, I don't think I've had the opportunity really!) If you do want to try to use it in cqb then yes, get the 1x version, but don't expect it to feel or act like a normal red dot, maybe it's psychological (or maybe my extra 0.25x really does screw it up), but worth doing for the small extra outlay I'm sure. 5x max magnification has been plenty for woodland... It's usually at 3 or 4x tbh. Good sight, would happily buy again.
  2. The 26mm objective allows slightly more magnification for maximum low light gathering i.e. 7mm exit pupil at approx 3.7 x mag. The optical quality would dictate if this meant anything though. Have you looked through either though? I've a simple fixed 4x40 US made Weaver that outperforms any cheap Chinese scope of whatever make or spec. Personally I can snap shoot both eyes open with a crystal clear 4x as easily as 1x. I've a period correct fixed Nikko Sterling Gold Crown on my 'Nam M14. If you want multiple aimpoints I'd try and find a Hawke Panorama in 2-7x 32 1/2 mildot. I don't know what model replaced it, but when I shot the HFT world championship in 2014, the top three placed shooters were equipped with larger Panoramas. I have a 3-9x40 on my Steve Pope tuned HW97K HFT rifle. It's an amazing scope for the money. Another option is Minox BDC. Not sure these are cheap anymore. I use one of these on my SVD. https://www.uttings.co.uk/p122015-nikko-stirling-30mm-diamond-1-4x24-ir-rifle-scope-ndsi1424/
  3. No hi-capa is worth £700, no matter how much the seller has been silly enough to throw at it, especially as the original straight out of the box TM variants are superb on almost every level, anything added is usually just prettying them up, bit like a girl with her favourite dolly 😜
  4. Well, Worthing went through with the new limitations to ghillies. Nothing below a viper hood (shoulders) with 1.14j full auto. DMR and bolt actions only for anything longer or a full ghillie. However they have upped their DMR limits to 1.88j so we're in line with most other sites now, which is nice. At least I now have an excuse to finish my viper hood and buy some better combats.
  5. With the 2024 'Namsoft season coming up, I'm going to spend a few skirmish games using my 'Nam kit to see what I can get away with and get comfortable with the kit, as health problems prevented me from playing at any games last year so it's been a while... This means no ghillie, but doesn't mean no concealment tactics whatsoever, so £4 slightly coloured Aliexpress scrim net is great for covering up the m700. Will also have another scrim net in my kit to drape over myself and will attach some elastic bands for natural vegetation to further blend in. Might also swap this scrim net for a different coloured one as the other one I have to drape over myself is better colour shades for summer time. Along with my M56 belt kit set up for .308 mags, and TM 1911 or classical Ruger .22 converted AAP, we'll see what I can get away with against all those modern kits, ghillie suits and high cap magazines at skirmish days; if it works then, it'll work at the 'Nam games! I would run the mac11 as a sidearm (looks close enough to a mac10 with the chonk suppressor), but the filmsim rules means no full-auto for anything outside an LMG, so the 1911 or AAP work better as secondaries as they're easier to carry and the mac11's main strength is that brrrrrrrrrrrt fun switch. And no, I'm not a stitch counter and will never be one; I'm all about the BB wars itself. If it's mostly fine and passes the 10m "does it look period accurate" sight test, then it's fine for me. Not that people usually see me in game anyway, since my entire game plan is to remain hidden; last Vietnam game I played at I hit about half a dozen GIs with a 1911 from a bush and they still couldn't find me, despite the GBB action
  6. Definitely WE. Their glocks are rather good nowadays and they’re TM spec so there’re tons of aftermarket parts. Stay well clear of anything Raven or Vorsk. It will break sooner than later. If you want the best glock that will hold up for ages and shoots great, have a look at TM. Although they have a plastic slide.
  7. Agreed that his prices are bonkers at times (that said, I put an order in a year or so back for a few non overpriced items, and the service/comms were very good). I don't particularly have a moral judgment on his pricing though - people don't need to buy anything from him - we just live in a capitalist world!
  8. The other thing to be mindful of is of course the condition of your battery. An old, or poorly made battery that has been left to drain below it's lowest recommended voltage previously will not be holding the capacity it says on the sticker..... I have bought a few aliexpress batteries as I'm a sucker for such things, and had very mixed results. But if the battery gives you good performance in other guns, or swapping in a similar capacity battery into the mp5 gives the same results, then might be the gun. I tend to swap my 1300mah batteries out after each 1hr game in most of my guns that use them, whether they run down or not - that's probably anything from 300 to 700 shots for me.
  9. Hiya. Does it not have any mags? You don't say anything about the condition or whether it is working as it should. Is it wired for deans or mini tamyia Is postage and fees included? Thanks 👍
  10. I mostly make wraps or covers for my guns. I did take the plunge recently and covered my tac41 in tough tape. But my new VSS is gonna stay using a cover for as long as I can get away with. I'd hate to cover up its beauty. But I mostly will use tough tape if I want anything to be stealthy. It blends most of the year round, or at least acts as an excellent base for adding some green. Kills any reflections too, and it can be removed fairly easily in the future.
  11. …. Did it look anything like this? When we ran events there, circa 2010, they had a faded whiteboard up with a rough sketch. I can’t remember if we put together the map or they gave us an existing source to overlay ours onto. We produced a giant ‘bare’ poster board edition to overlay event specifics in the safe zone briefs. It should still be in my garage, hung from the ceiling acting as a shelf for tents - but the prints probably disintegrated/rubbed off over the years I like site maps, as a descendant of a dodgy ‘ship wrecked’ Norwegian I have no sense of direction and rely on map/site feature recognition ….. and at Camouflage Bournemouth during pre event setup I lost half the objective props for a while - I had stacked them on top of a hill whilst taking them a couple at a time to set up, and couldn’t find my way back to the hill. So I geotagged every location at Ambush.
  12. I swear I started a similar thread a while ago with the intent to post all maps I find..... But yeah, it doesn't need to be a work of art or even anything beyond simple line drawing with basic features and names. First time (awhile ago now) at a new site (ambush Botley) and they start talking about locations "yeah, but where is it?" - oh just follow someone.... By lunch we had a conversation with owner about it, we had done a very rough sketch of the rest of the afternoon by the end of the day, someone had found a dnd map maker and boom, a usable map was born. The Gaol do theirs very well, with the "long game" locations, timings and scoring options all listed. Shout out to Justin as it hits 10Years in May. CS used to hand a copy to all site first timers. Many smaller sites might not need to bother, Red1 chiselhurst for example is compact enough to have have its areas clear and easy to navigate. As is mentioned already, it doesn't need much. For me, the effort of getting a map either on website or handed on game day speaks volumes about the sites level of welcome to new to site visitors. Excluding of course the smaller sites that don't need to...
  13. I was getting average (but reliable) performance stock so decided to try the ZCI plastic rotary unit alongside a ML Macaron + gearworks omega nub, and while the performance was much better it just really struggled to feed for whatever reason. I was assuming that other people had modified their units to fit hence the request. I did change the barrel over to a longer 6.03 (320mm) brass barrel out of a fucked second hand LT-52 I had lying around instead of using the standard 230mm 6.10 that comes as standard when I changed the hop and bucking, however - although since I put the old hop unit back in it's started feeding flawlessly again even with said barrel and rubber (the nub is internally fixed with the standard unit so I couldn't try the gearworks nub in there unfortunately) So yeah, not really sure. Airsoft will be airsoft. If you ever end up taking yours apart for a clean or something similar I'd be interested to see what yours looks like to see if there's anything glaring that I could've missed

Hi all. Due to health reasons, and lack of time, I am having to sell on kit. Couple bits already gone to friends, so this is what I have left. I'm selling a minimally used (has been 8 times on site all day) G&G Armament Knights Armament SR15 E3 MOD2 Carbine M-LOK with 6 additional midcap mags. It also comes fitted with a Perun ETU++ MOSFET. I was eyeing up a different CYMA when a friend stepped in and provided the extra cash to get this for me. So accurate out the box, I would not want to do anything with it. This is an absolutely brilliant gun, and I will gutted not to use it anymore. Hopefully health will mean can play again in the next year or two, but for now, it is gathering dust and has not been used in over a year. Wife told me to get rid, so I'm doing what I'm told. Brand new, these were going for £370-400, so with mags and Perun, figured asking £275 was fair. Buyer will need to cover postage, and I will request photo ID, and proof of ukara

    £275

  15. Re walking nonchalantly, I would say depends on how nonchalantly you are walking you are effectively "pretending to be not in-game" therefore cheating. That is similar to sparring in any sort of fights, you drop your stance, make your mate think you are not playing, and then making a cheap shot, surely this "false signalling" is a form of cheating. Marshal discretion should apply here, if you see a wandering seemingly dead guy walking towards the wrong spawn, you might want to at least turn him around? Re @Tommikka ok I guess if it is part of the "map" so it is effectively environmental damage it would be fair I suppose. Also poor lad falling into the water, there are rat's trap with the same design designed for killing rats, surely it doesn't add anything to the tactical gameplay more than a level and normal bridge, and surely it should have been removed during risk assessment? Re Taylor Swift lol, you know when prototype cars goes to road testing and they have these blank and white camo patterns to hide their shape... this is it, this is what we need! Re AI I fear it is only a matter of time we have effective airsoft bots, I mean they are developing exponentially fast, I suspect we are less than a decade away from effective biped robots in military with an AI comparable to Forrest Gump, and then civilian markets less than a decade from that
  16. it is very unlikely that the piston is catching on the spring and spring guide, although this is airsoft so anything is probably possible. The usual cause of this is that the battery or motor lacks the muscles to push the piston all the way back against the heavily compressed spring. What battery, motor and spring are you using?
  17. This has got to be a trolling post. It has to be... it can't be anything else... *looks at kicking mustang's insta* It has to be... right?
  18. I am fully aware of whom you speak of. This particular player often uses his disabilities to try to win arguements and get his own way. Has been banned from multiple sights for safety issues and uses legal action threats constantly. It's not discrimination as this individual has literally been given chance after chance before being banned. And other player would have been automatically removed and banned without hesitation. If anything they were given more leeway due to their existing conditions. My brother has similar disabilities and I won't bring him along to matches due to his lack of control if he becomes triggered. Safety is priority especially when you can lose an eye and those Airsoft weapons are often heavy enough to knock someone out with.

  20. Same as me, except I also use it when DMRing, though I play that the same as my bolt action and is why I would ideally still like to be able to ghillie with a DMR. I actually prefer the head, shoulders and cape over the full 360 suit including trousers, because a full 360 suit gets caught on absolutely everything and drags half the forest floor with me when I crawl around. As you say, head, shoulders and cape with a rifle wrap covers basically everything that needs covering. Cobra hood (which is still uncrafted...) and rifle wrap is for anything else, and I've pulled off some stupid sneaky spots in that setup, even in a plain black t-shirt and plain OD trousers...
  21. I've crafted my own "ghillie". I put it in inverted commas because it's not a full suit with the trousers and all that malarkey, it's just a viper mesh jacket that covers head, shoulders and down my back. I made a rifle wrap to match and realistically that's all I really need to cover up if I pick my spot to hide properly. I only wear it when I've got my BASR in my mitts. I take it off to run anything else because, well, its just not sporting. As others have said, rentals won't get what us happening to them or appreciate the skill that a good sniper has employed to brass them up without being seen.....then again, the majority of ghillie wearers I have met on a casual skirmish day are utterly clueless about actual stealth and think they are fucking Batfink, "your plastic balls cannot harm me, my leaves are like a shield of steel!" kind of thing. I think ghillie is for BASR only, just my twopenneth. Thinking about an alternative that let's anyone use a ghillie. A ghillie wearer, not using a BASR is required to shout "Nee" once every 30 seconds.....and if there are two of them working as a team, one has to be slightly higher than the other to create a nice little two level effect to the shrubbery.
  22. Sunday at Special Ops "The Fireplace" My second trip to Carlos's new CQB site, and this one went better - I didn't get lost on the way, I didn't forget anything, I took less stuff (maybe connected to the previous point), and I had some better idea what to expect Considering my knee is knackered at the moment, I went a bit brave and booked in for the full day - £35 for 9:30 - 18:00 I'm a bit crap at remembering and describing actual gameplay so I'll just throw some thoughts at ya... Carlos has put together a decent playbook of games already He's put together a mildly amusing briefing video that gets all his usual info across in a nippy 10 minutes The helicopter helps block some of the line of sight to the first spawn, but it's still eminently 'trappable' by a good team 'Chopper' jokes might get old when everyone is doing them Grenades are fun Except when it doesn't go off, and you have to make The Walk Of Shame to retrieve it! A full day is a long time if you forget to take a packed lunch (only 'food' available: crisps, choccies and Pot Noodles) The 4-a-side mini tournament at the end of the day was great fun whilst you're playing, but the winner-stays-on style means there's a fair bit of waiting around. Some people bailed out, I was tempted myself as I could barely get up off the floor where I'd been resting. There were some long delays - Jet (for it that is his appellation) got his miniature scales out and checked everyone's BB's to make sure no-one was exceeding the 0.25 limit. The lunchtime changeover dragged on a bit due to stragglers, as did some end-of-game bomb-ups. Still, by lunchtime I was already grateful for the breathers, but others might have been annoyed. Hit-taking was mostly good, but a couple of annoying instances of having to pump multiple shots at people to make them "admit to the hit". This 'ere fat bloke running with a brick of Colombia's Finest Marching Powder, retrieved from that there heli-chopper https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/7277546335698561 This chap sitting In Da Chopppppppaaa pinned us down for a while. I made a run and chucked my grenade perfectly in and got him https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/435840382287286 "Consult the Book Of Armaments" The main thing is I went with the strongest possible intention to run my Tippmann for it's first proper game (I've had it 2 years already) - and it worked (in every sense!) Yay! This was my first experience of running an HPA system, and the tank and line weren't nearly as troubling as I suspected they might be - once I'd fed the line through my shoulder straps to keep it closer to my body. And swapped the tank from a belt pouch that wasn't designed for such a bulky / heavy item to a lightweight rucksack. The Tippmann was great - plenty of 'bang' with every shot, it really is the next best thing to a proper GBBR. It was also my first game with a tracer unit. Carlos is selling 2000x0.25g Bio tracers for £13 which seemed a pretty decent price, considering. I did get through ~3000 during the day (I took some Vorsk ones I'd already bought from Amazon, they were fine). Tracers proved damned useful in the dim lighting for getting the hop and sights sorted out (or allowing you to still hit stuff even when they're not!), and when Carlos dimmed the lights further in the late afternoon, those green streaks of light sure looked purdy I also took along my proven faves - the VFC HK416 GBBR (every shot remains a joyful experience), which I used until I exhausted my gas can. And of course the DE M906C Old Faithful (which in comparison to the other gats really showed it shoots like a frickin' laser beam - especially impressive with the tracers). Shame the thing currently screeches like a cat being run over by a steamroller, even after my attempts at adjusting the motor height. No wonder the motor got a little toasty again. I need Luke to fix it up for me. The HPA experience means I'm really quite likely to buy an Airtac adapter for my '416 now... the realistic gas mag changes are fun, but my 'speedloader' didn't exactly live up to its name (it's getting very graunchy), and with only 3 working mags I wasn't quite on it. I think the adapter plus a bunch of (relatively dirt-cheap) mid-caps instead will be a decent compromise. All in all a very good day
  23. Anything and everything. Gearbox’s for aegs, mosfets, externals ie polymer or a metal, trade marks etc etc them you may want lots of different types of rifs some are rarer than other. You could prefer gbb. Thing is it’s a wallet issue, a personal preference issue and performance issue. The more you spend the better you would expect to get in terms of quality but that’s not always the case. As @gavinkempsell and @Dan Robinson have said. Start a decent cheap brand when you decide you want to upgrade it makes a decent spare for you or a mate. And if in doubt ask most here will help steer you in the right direction with good rifs and what to absolutely avoid.
  24. I agree with @GenuineGerman, spend a few sheckles more and get the Specna. Those included chargers are only worth using a few times until a better one arrives. I would seriously hold off buying anything until you have had a few game days - even if only to give you time to get a list of bits that will last you and you've had a chance to try a few other player's guns. You might decide you prefer an MP5 instead of an M4. A proper charger is a must, and eventually you'll be changing battery connectors to better ones. Spend wisely. Ask nicely at chrono/the site's range and people will let you have a few rounds down course. A lot of us will let you have a game with a back up gun or one of our less expensive babies.... I let a lad have a couple of magazines and a pistol last time out because I could see he was envious on us running around popping caps in people's asses, and he was a rental on his first time out. Two-tone can be undone, but it does reduce the resale value of the pew. Those few weeks waiting for UKARA will fly by and you'll be in a better position as a result with better targeted purchases.
  25. Has anything been done to it or are the internals stock? Cheers
