  1. I've crafted my own "ghillie". I put it in inverted commas because it's not a full suit with the trousers and all that malarkey, it's just a viper mesh jacket that covers head, shoulders and down my back. I made a rifle wrap to match and realistically that's all I really need to cover up if I pick my spot to hide properly. I only wear it when I've got my BASR in my mitts. I take it off to run anything else because, well, its just not sporting. As others have said, rentals won't get what us happening to them or appreciate the skill that a good sniper has employed to brass them up without being seen.....then again, the majority of ghillie wearers I have met on a casual skirmish day are utterly clueless about actual stealth and think they are fucking Batfink, "your plastic balls cannot harm me, my leaves are like a shield of steel!" kind of thing. I think ghillie is for BASR only, just my twopenneth. Thinking about an alternative that let's anyone use a ghillie. A ghillie wearer, not using a BASR is required to shout "Nee" once every 30 seconds.....and if there are two of them working as a team, one has to be slightly higher than the other to create a nice little two level effect to the shrubbery.
  2. Sunday at Special Ops "The Fireplace" My second trip to Carlos's new CQB site, and this one went better - I didn't get lost on the way, I didn't forget anything, I took less stuff (maybe connected to the previous point), and I had some better idea what to expect Considering my knee is knackered at the moment, I went a bit brave and booked in for the full day - £35 for 9:30 - 18:00 I'm a bit crap at remembering and describing actual gameplay so I'll just throw some thoughts at ya... Carlos has put together a decent playbook of games already He's put together a mildly amusing briefing video that gets all his usual info across in a nippy 10 minutes The helicopter helps block some of the line of sight to the first spawn, but it's still eminently 'trappable' by a good team 'Chopper' jokes might get old when everyone is doing them Grenades are fun Except when it doesn't go off, and you have to make The Walk Of Shame to retrieve it! A full day is a long time if you forget to take a packed lunch (only 'food' available: crisps, choccies and Pot Noodles) The 4-a-side mini tournament at the end of the day was great fun whilst you're playing, but the winner-stays-on style means there's a fair bit of waiting around. Some people bailed out, I was tempted myself as I could barely get up off the floor where I'd been resting. There were some long delays - Jet (for it that is his appellation) got his miniature scales out and checked everyone's BB's to make sure no-one was exceeding the 0.25 limit. The lunchtime changeover dragged on a bit due to stragglers, as did some end-of-game bomb-ups. Still, by lunchtime I was already grateful for the breathers, but others might have been annoyed. Hit-taking was mostly good, but a couple of annoying instances of having to pump multiple shots at people to make them "admit to the hit". This 'ere fat bloke running with a brick of Colombia's Finest Marching Powder, retrieved from that there heli-chopper https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/7277546335698561 This chap sitting In Da Chopppppppaaa pinned us down for a while. I made a run and chucked my grenade perfectly in and got him https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/435840382287286 "Consult the Book Of Armaments" The main thing is I went with the strongest possible intention to run my Tippmann for it's first proper game (I've had it 2 years already) - and it worked (in every sense!) Yay! This was my first experience of running an HPA system, and the tank and line weren't nearly as troubling as I suspected they might be - once I'd fed the line through my shoulder straps to keep it closer to my body. And swapped the tank from a belt pouch that wasn't designed for such a bulky / heavy item to a lightweight rucksack. The Tippmann was great - plenty of 'bang' with every shot, it really is the next best thing to a proper GBBR. It was also my first game with a tracer unit. Carlos is selling 2000x0.25g Bio tracers for £13 which seemed a pretty decent price, considering. I did get through ~3000 during the day (I took some Vorsk ones I'd already bought from Amazon, they were fine). Tracers proved damned useful in the dim lighting for getting the hop and sights sorted out (or allowing you to still hit stuff even when they're not!), and when Carlos dimmed the lights further in the late afternoon, those green streaks of light sure looked purdy I also took along my proven faves - the VFC HK416 GBBR (every shot remains a joyful experience), which I used until I exhausted my gas can. And of course the DE M906C Old Faithful (which in comparison to the other gats really showed it shoots like a frickin' laser beam - especially impressive with the tracers). Shame the thing currently screeches like a cat being run over by a steamroller, even after my attempts at adjusting the motor height. No wonder the motor got a little toasty again. I need Luke to fix it up for me. The HPA experience means I'm really quite likely to buy an Airtac adapter for my '416 now... the realistic gas mag changes are fun, but my 'speedloader' didn't exactly live up to its name (it's getting very graunchy), and with only 3 working mags I wasn't quite on it. I think the adapter plus a bunch of (relatively dirt-cheap) mid-caps instead will be a decent compromise. All in all a very good day
  3. Anything and everything. Gearbox’s for aegs, mosfets, externals ie polymer or a metal, trade marks etc etc them you may want lots of different types of rifs some are rarer than other. You could prefer gbb. Thing is it’s a wallet issue, a personal preference issue and performance issue. The more you spend the better you would expect to get in terms of quality but that’s not always the case. As @gavinkempsell and @Dan Robinson have said. Start a decent cheap brand when you decide you want to upgrade it makes a decent spare for you or a mate. And if in doubt ask most here will help steer you in the right direction with good rifs and what to absolutely avoid.
  4. I agree with @GenuineGerman, spend a few sheckles more and get the Specna. Those included chargers are only worth using a few times until a better one arrives. I would seriously hold off buying anything until you have had a few game days - even if only to give you time to get a list of bits that will last you and you've had a chance to try a few other player's guns. You might decide you prefer an MP5 instead of an M4. A proper charger is a must, and eventually you'll be changing battery connectors to better ones. Spend wisely. Ask nicely at chrono/the site's range and people will let you have a few rounds down course. A lot of us will let you have a game with a back up gun or one of our less expensive babies.... I let a lad have a couple of magazines and a pistol last time out because I could see he was envious on us running around popping caps in people's asses, and he was a rental on his first time out. Two-tone can be undone, but it does reduce the resale value of the pew. Those few weeks waiting for UKARA will fly by and you'll be in a better position as a result with better targeted purchases.
  5. Has anything been done to it or are the internals stock? Cheers
  6. Yes - the weight is more down to the hop in the gun and the environment you're pewing in.... outdoors you want a .25 or .28 really otherwise leaves become a deflector screen, and Bush wookies might not feel the impacts. If you're indoors, then I see no need to use anything more than .2s. With increased weight comes increased cost too. There's a thread with a spreadsheet somewhere on the forum with links and prices - I'll see if I can find it. Here we are:

I purchased this brand new and before I'd even pulled the trigger once, sent it off to Luke at Negative Airsoft for him to turn into the best lightweight DMR it can be. Because I don't know about you but personally I think it makes more sense to have a gun you can actually shoulder repeatedly and carry around all-day. This has all of the reach but far less heft than some of its counterparts, such as the SR25. It's had helical gears, bushings, piston, piston head, nozzle and tappet plate spring, in order to optimise its performance. However, the most significant (and expensive) internal upgrades come in the way of the Perun AB++ MOSFET and Warhead Brushless motor. However to further increase the always sought after range and accuracy, I installed a ZCl inner barrel and Maple Leaf Macron+Omega combo. The Airtech Studios barrel stabiliser is the the icing on the cake in that regard. I tested it yesterday and set the hop so it was so it was starting to lift 0.36's at the end of my 30M garden (it definitely wanted to stretch it's legs way beyond). It was giving me a consistent 313/1.64J - which is perfect for my regular site. I've found you can affect this number by using a different weight of BB, so you need to apply more or less hop. For example it was giving me 1.88J when set for a 0.32. Alternatively you could just change the spring, as this does have a quick change spring. Albeit the type where you need to remove the gearbox first. It's only been skirmished about three times and then stored in a high quality rifle bag (not included). In fact it hasn't actually been skirmished since Luke last opened it up. So it's in excellent condition both internally and externally (although yes, some minor marks may still be present). It will come in its original box with an extra G2 90 round mag, which has the follower that activates the stop on empty feature. Honestly I haven't decided yet whether to include the V7 stock (which was nearly £60 by itself) or the original. Link to Negs video where he's doing the bulk of the work: (it's been back to him between then for further improvements and health check). Stated price includes PayPal fees and Parcelforce 48 courier. Please PM me any questions, as I don't get notified of anything asked on the listing.

  8. Yup, we do that, and they HAVE to go on the upper arm. No plate carriers or ankles or anything like that. One rule for everyone.
  9. Your options are: -Pay more for the LPC with ROC buckles (quick release cummerbund), placard front and built-in admin pouch -Pay less for the DCS but no quick swapping of front pouches and you've got to do the big velcro ritual for the cummerbund every time UK-T's pouches names are way overly-specific tbh. Double pouches with flaps for AR mags will hold at least one of every other common type of mag. If you're on a budget I'd go for this and you're literally set for anything you'll likely to ever actually use in one fell swoop. https://www.uktactical.com/product/warrior-dcs-m4-plate-carrier-combo-with-5x-556-m4-covered-mag-pouches-2x-utility-pouches-18873#?variant=209 I think WAS may be moving all (or at least a portion) of their production over to laser cut stuff since they setup in the UK, so it may be worth grabbing the non LC line stuff if that's what you fancy sooner rather than later. Just a guesstimate though.
  10. Some video/pictures of the inside (doesn't seem very big) https://www.lcpproperties.co.uk/unit-details/3368/upper-floor https://www.novaloca.com/retail-premises/to-let/walsall/park-place-shopping-centre/72544 https://www.primelocation.com/to-rent/commercial/details/65779732/ Re how economical, since the place is already vacant, I guess for the owner (LCP) anything is better than nothing, on LCP's page it says flexible terms / short term let available so I guess First & Only (seems they run a lot of sites) managed to negotiate something Not sure how much they are even allowed to knock down, judging by the tone of the planning statement it seems they don't intent to alter anything "There would be no alterations either internally or externally to the premise as it is an ideal layout for the proposed use" I wonder with all those glass facade facing the high street (and skylights), how are they going to protect all the glass and how are they going to cover up all the RIFs from being seen, it seems it is a town centre location so there will be lots of random people walking about

  13. Thanks, I told him to just use the terrain or branches to hold the gun up. Anything that makes it notably heavier I think is bad news, one of its key things is it’s so light. I’ll get him to try again and see what he says. Great idea on the pouch, I’ve used something similar for camera lenses in the past.

This was only briefly fitted, but never skirmished with it on. Unfortunately one of the rear sight Allen screws rounded, so there are some marks on and around the rear sight block, from where I had to remove this. However I tested it after and everything worked as it should. I've tried to capture overall condition accurately, by taking photos in natural light. This is a very high quality one piece CNC upgrade for the AAP-01. Not only does it look and feel great, but it gives you a top and bottom rail for lights and optics etc. Stated price includes PayPal fees and tracked courier. Please PM me any questions, as I don't get notifications for anything asked on the listing.

  16. Friend picked up the Perun equipped AK-12 a good few months ago and he's ran it through the ringer and it hasn't missed a beat if that's anything to go by. I've heard the zenit styled PE PP-19s are awesome too, so I can't see them the PPK-20 being any different. Their PP-19 has a 250mm barrel and the PPK looks similar in size so I'm assuming it's the same? Not quite sure on that one honestly
  17. i am in West Drayton (close to heathrow) are you in london as well? . . , . Amazing tips, guys! Thank you! is that one in cobham, surrey still open? Ive messaged them but no reply so far… anything in particular that I should look for when buying my first pistol/rifle?
  18. So I've got my belt rig all set up nicely for M4 mags for my 3 STANAG guns. They're only cheap Chinese plastic pouches, a fiver each I think but they work ok. I do prefer the solid-shelled pouches for my tactical reloads. And then I go and do something silly and buy an AUG. And the mags don't quite fit in the pouches I know I can remove / loosen those elastic bands, the problem is in the other direction, if you get my drift. I've got a couple of SA80 mag pouches that will stretch and accommodate any of my mags, and with the bungee cord over the top even my AK mags won't fall out. They're also dirt cheap. So they're actually very good in many ways - but they're not quite 'it' for speed reloads. I could therefore swap out two of the plastic pouches with those and I'm sort-of 'good to go' - I'm most realistically going to be carrying 3 hi-caps for the AUG, so one in the pocket / gun, and a couple on the belt would be ok. But never miss a good (or even bad) excuse to buy more / better gear. Soooooooo....... Are there any good mag pouches that will hold just about anything, allow for fast reloads, won't have me losing mags every time I fall over a log, AND DON'T COST A BLEEDIN' FORTUNE. Cos I'll buy four of the buggers if I'm going to do a proper job. Shockingly enough, the Novritsch ones are pretty damned close to what I'm looking for, but maybe there's something better out there? https://eu.novritsch.com/product/assault-rifle-magazine-pouch-gen2/
  19. I apologise for the terrible photo but anything I took with the rear camera was too big a file to upload. Considering I didn't use an undercoat (the grey just peeled straight off) and it was cheap matt black wheel paint from poundland, this hasn't turned out too badly.
  20. Ahoy and welcome. No need to over-think it. Find a site near to you, and book a rental package. If you enjoy it and reckon that you'll stick with it, then you think about purchasing options. Renting isn't as expensive as it looks though. A rental package is typically £20 more than a walk on, but you'll get through £10 or so worth of BBs anyway, so it's really only £10 a day to rent a gun and support for it without investing anything yourself. Waiting the 8 weeks / 3 games before getting a site membership / UKARA number will give you time to cadge a go on some guns and figure out what you want to buy. There's no need to go as a team or with anyone else. There will be a brief for rentals covering the basics, and airsofters tend to be a friendly bunch. You'll easily enough get talking to folk on site. Just ask someone about their guns and gear and see if you can get them to shut up.
  21. The fake bolt lugs? Yeah they don’t do anything but you can transfer them from the old one if you are really fussed. The GM nozzles are good and the three pack of rocket valves for modding are cool too.
  22. Upgrades, eh? Same as with anything else in airsoft, it's best to change one part at a time and then test objectively. Same as with anything else in airsoft, ain't nobody got time fo' that. What I would suggest is ensuring that the o-ring is loose, and I mean looser than you'd think is necessary. You can stretch it over the cylinder to slacken it up, or replace with something that might be a bit more generous than stock. I use BS910 19.18mm x 2.46mm rings. Nitrile, but I'm sure someone will demand Viton® is the One True Material. Keep at it, I've seen a shocking 1.3J on 0.28g from an M100 spring, 228mm 6.01mm barrel, rotary hop, Maple leaf bucking, and stock CYMA gearbox components just with extra holes drilled in the head, a replaced o-ring, and a little silicone grease.
  23. Hello there, I just posted a list of local Surrey and Birmingham sites along with key info in the 'Skirmish Sites' section. As mentioned in that post, I have also compiled a retailer list, broken down by region. It's always helped me tick off all the the places i want to search for a particular item. As mentioned in the other post, if you are a shop/site owner who doesn't appear in those lists, feel free to post anything missed out below. At the bottom, there is also a list of shops relatively local to people in Surrey/SW London and Birmingham. Hope this helps!
