  1. I saw someone else do the same thing as ian gere (might even have been him) and I now do the same, I've noticed it helps the spring and the bb's, I put a couple of drops in the mag and use the cleaning rod to push the spring down That's why larger springs are qeunched in oil, the metal soaks up the oil and the surface becomes more rust resistant and the surface is more flexible
  2. I've got 2 battery chargers Imax b6 (highly recommend) & GT power 606D (highly recommend) Both are the only chargers I bought since getting into rc models and that was 8 years ago I've also made up new charge leads because of the battery connectors I use (I use 4 different types)
  3. I think airsoft is a lot like the England squad They play for various teams and only train together when theres an international tournament going on Us ex military personnel have the training but the non military wouldn't like us treating them like soldiers etc and dont want to do the training Yes we have the die hards who are fanatical about milsim (I personally want to do it aswell) but for me personally, its fun running around but also its to put the army skills I learned back into practice knowing I'll get a 2nd chance I think its brilliant and so do my teenage boys, like any sport its all about the fun side of it In the US, you have a lot of old military bases where ours are still in use so have to use other facility's to the best we can
  4. Very cool chock What's your prices for that sort of thing ??
  5. I'll expand on what I was saying and make it more clear My rifle has the G&G logo on the body and that's what I wanted to paint over I'm not trying to rip of trade logos and break any laws I apologise most sincerely for the confusion
  6. Thanks chock that would be appreciated for future endeavours
  7. Thanks mate, that's what I wanted to know It'll cost a fortune to have it engraved
  8. Is it a requirement that AEG's have the manufacture logo/mark on it or can they be painted over ?? Nick
  9. I've made a battery box that sits just forward of the mag well, i used some box trunking lightly modified, sanded rough sprayed mat black and then rewired to be a 'front wired' rifle I can use both lipo and nimh on it so I can switch between them during a game day

    slings

I've used my old neck strap from one of my rc model transmitter I can have it as a 1 or 2 point sling just by adjusting it
  11. The bf888 comes with covert earpiece and mobile phone type PTT I've just bought a throat mic set up for my bf888, the PTT clips to your sleeve or collar, the mic has a choice of PTT or VOX
  12. I'm assuming that airsoft gearing are all standard 'tooth pitch' or are they like rc car makers where they have there own gears that won't work in other cars ?? I do the same as Loader but with rc boats aswell, I've stripped many gears in my cars due to incorrect gear mesh or tooth pitch on the gears not matching
  13. I was thinking of uv-5r because of the programming, I can have all the uk legal frequencys and program the others
  14. Chocolate bars and water, I'm used to running/working on next to nothing I drink decaff tea so plenty of water to keep me hydrated and a 58 pattern water bottle in my chest rig to drink outside
  15. I've looked at the baofeng UV-5R and thinking of getting it cause you can program all sorts of frequencies on the screen directly I have the UK 466 freq's written down so would I program the 1st three numbers and the last 3 numbers on the keypad ???
  16. The radios I have are 16 channel, 400-470mhz Blacks ops Bristol use the very same radios I have so they must be ok Like all airsoft stuff I have, its all for the sport
  17. I'm always thinking if things can be converted or modified but simple answer is If i make any mods then there's more to go wrong
  18. Well that's no good then I've got 2 of the baofeng 888s with throat mic setup Didn't realise you needed a licence to operate a radio, all I need it for is to talk with my kids and team mates when skirmishing
  19. Are those standard patterns ?? Can you do custom patterns ?? I'd like to design my own pattern and have printed it printed on the body of my M4 stocking airsoft parts is a great idea and you could sell some preprinted by yourselfs
  20. Top gear Burma special while painting an rc rescue boat with a modified tower crane and installing all electronic setup
  21. Its a tooth pick for...... Janet Street Porter Or Esther Ranson :)
  22. All down to health and safety these days mate I loved camping in the rain and going on stag for 2 hours in the dark, great memories eating out of your mess tons, getting wet and filthy, the horror boxes (packed lunch for on the way home) are still the same
  23. Kitchen tissue makes good canvas when sprayed, wooden tea stirrers from McDonalds will make good duck boards (the planks they walked on) ladders can be made from cocktail sticks, sewing thread bobins can be used for barbed wire or cables wrapped around
  24. My 1st time firing of an A1 resulted in a JAM, I had no training on it Yeah there using the A2, have been for a few years now, so now they clean as much as the army does no selective firing and SUSATS, they've been wearing MTP clothes for about 5 years aswell, no more light weights, shirts, jumpers etc etc Before my boys did any 'live firing' they start on air rifles, then train with the A2's and get tested on them, now they start with a basic blue star to say they passed everything then work up to there 1 star Its changed so much since I was a cadet, they Can't sleep out in the rain anymore, they dont do P.T and can't ride in any sort of military vehicles anymore (great times p*****g out the back of a 4 tonner) all transport is white vans and coaches I had a crack on the LSW, SA80 and the GPMG (gympie) when in the cadets on exercise on Salisbury plain with the local T.A Funny enough, I have 3 springer sa80's to train my boys with, just to give them extra help, its amazing what memories and skills come back when you have an sa80 in your hands
  25. Fair enough, wonder if it can be converted for a blow back system
