    TM gearboxes

I'll give them a try and see what happens but as I said above, its purely experimental and I'd have a gearbox of spares I always take photos as I disassemble so I know how it goes back together
  2. Another point to remember as sabre pointed out Skirmish are for unlimited ammo which noob's do a lot of Milsim is more for experienced guys who have trigger discipline Trigger discipline is something you learn over time as you learn to control your emotions whereas for people like me who started with cadet forces then into the armed forces, we've learnt trigger discipline and to conserve ammo, 3 burst rounds on auto

    TM gearboxes

The box says its Tokyo marui for M4's but wasn't sure if it was compatible with other brand M4's Flex - nothings wrong with either gearboxes, the TM box is front wired as that's where I have battery's so I didn't need to buy anymore, I'm fitting a MOSFET (when it arrives) I can disassemble the TM box, see how its all done and solder in the MOSFET, put in my rifle and keep the other as a spare Simple fact is, its an experiment, for £50 I think its good as most are £60+
  4. Thanks monkey nuts, my son just wants it a bit shorter, pretty much the same as mine, he likes mine and wants to achieve a similar look, I'll stick a suppressor on for him to keep the inner barrel RR01 - I'd have thought a shorter barrel requires no new piston etc so I think some people are repeating what they've heard elsewhere, I understand if putting in a longer barrel, its like putting larger carberetuers on an engine for a bigger bang
  5. I'm keeping the inner barrel the same length and just reducing the outer barrel

    TM gearboxes

Thanks guys now I'm at an impass lol It seems I would be better just getting a whole new trigger setup (eBay for £17) and doing the soldering I need on that Either way, I'll still need to take A gearbox apart to do what I need so I'll go with the trigger as that's the bit I'll be working on really

    TM gearboxes

Cheese - its because its front wired as that's how I've made my existing gearbox plus I can use it practice installing the MOSFET without damaging my G&G gearbox, I know it won't be any better, on the plus side though, if anything breaks or I mess up, I have a gearbox for spares Monty - that's all I needed to know thankyou Flex - yes that's correct, just wanted to know if it'll drop straight in without modding it
  8. Think I found a cracking deal BUT the gearbox is for a Tokyo marui M4 (it says in the write up but not other info) I'd love to buy it as its front wired (I rewired mine to front wire) and it also means I can wire in my MOSFET without busting my other gearbox I've got the G&G cm16 CQB M4 but will the TM gearbox fit in place of my exsisting gearbox Nick
  9. If there made in 3 sections like you say monkey (after looking at the ebay link) then its a possibility of just unscrewing the muzzle section
  10. He's got the standard length inner barrel with the standard length outer barrel but I'm lucky as I know someone very well who has a lathe, turned down a barrel for me when I replaced my inner barrel I'll look more into it as I've seen a site with a few outer barrel's, I'm even thinking of just shortening his outer barrel as he doesn't want a silencer suppressor
  11. Sooooo, my son wants to modify his M4 G&G raider (long barrel version) He wants a shorter outer barrel and wants it like mine (I've got the CQB version, so I can use it in different environments) My outer barrel is 10.5" long but I dont know if I could use a different manufacturers barrel (someone like ARES or G&P)

    M203

A normal peq box is 2mm to small but I am in the middle of making a peq box Plus, as I build rc boats, I always look for ways to make things rather than buy them

    M203

A broken M203 is a back up idea if my primary idea dont work out I've got a M4 front hand guard coming, its the type you find on the cm16 long barrel raider and I'm getting some 50mm inner diameter PVC pipe and the ideas to modify the hand guard to fit around the pipe, the bottom hand guard will slide forwards somehow so I can slide the battery in

    M203

Cheers chock In the words of my kids "that's epic" it looks quite cool but easily modified and its a bargain price I'll get onto it straight away

    M203

That's the one I'm looking for but I can't find them anywhere I'm not buying the blue dboys M4 just for the M203 unless I can pick one up cheap 2nd hand
  16. They still did it though russe11, think they needed to fill there quota or the block didn't get his willy wet the previous night

    M203

Hi guys & gals I'm looking for a SHORT DUMMY M203 in the UK to replace my homemade battery box I've mounted on the RAS rail It needs to accept a standard sized 7.2v NiMH & a long but thin 7.4v lipo I've got no problem modifying the inside to accommodate the battery's Nick
  18. Thanks ian I always use heat shrink on soldered wire joints Glad I'm not the only one who still messes up every now and then lol
  19. I think at this rate ian, I'll just buy what I need and send it to you for it to be upgraded lol I was watching YouTube videos about the mosfets and have decided I'll get one My M4 is the test platform before I upgrade my boys M4's
  20. Oh I certainly let them know how pissed I was but I understand what your saying Ian, I admit I'm guilty of it but most of the time its because they dont take there hits I've been looking at those types but was thinking of getting the nano (I think that's there name) plug n play MOSFET
  21. This was my 2nd skirmish, most of the time i was using semi and using full auto for supressive fire so my team mates could tab (Tactical Advance to Battle) closer to the enemy Yes Ian, I have rewired with 16awg and used my nimhs and lipos from the start and using deans for my nimhs and gold bullet connectors for my lipos, a faster trigger response would be great aswell Funny enough, I had 7 blokes go full auto on me within 20ft of my position and I was screaming "hit" with both hands in the air
  22. Tbh duck, I dont want to go mental The real M4's dont have a huge ROF even on full auto I'll be happy to get an increase of about 15% On the chrono today, I think i was putting out about 16 rounds per second (I could be wrong if that's not RPS of a standard M4) I'm happy to stick with the batterys I have (so I don't need to buy more) so a slight increase on the motor would be a place to start GB is already re-shimmed Jimmies, I took it apart (after watching videos) and regreaed aswell, that did help a bit My lipos are all minimum of 35C, I dont use low MAH batts in any of my cars or boats
  23. As I come from racing rc cars and boats background I understand about the needs of upgrading, I've been looking at an M120 motor, start low and see how that goes ATM I'm using 7.2v, 4600mah nimhs and 7.4v 5000 lipos
  24. Ok, so the other choice I have is to go with a different battery Either lipos or 8.4 - 9.6v nimhs Its just today I was able to hold my own but want to increase ROF on full auto
  25. Cheers duck, I'll check ebay
