gbbparts.com have the CL custom adjustable valve for them for those that don't fancy making something themselves . I use one in my G3 and it's super stable

That's the thing though, they were probably weird conspiracy theorist nutjobs WITHOUT the weed. It doesn't magically make you into one, the same way that coke doesn't automatically make you Tony Montana. Equally alcohol doesn't make you a violent knuckle dragger, but it does lower the inhibitions of the average knuckle dragger to the point that they are happy to get violent. Of course, booze is socially acceptable but recreational pharmaceuticals aren't so we have to demonise them and the ones that partake. Personally, I'd far rather be camped next to a bunch of stoners than a group of piss heads.

Those who have ordered from UK shops should hopefully have them towards the end of next week as long as UPS customs team remember how to do their job

I was under the impression it had snapped something and wasnt sure what. I checked after your suggestion of a new hopup unit and seems relatively simple, so thanks for the direction. I'll try it as is and get the hop unit if it feels janky. Cheers.

Another one for the baofeng, really good and the earpiece it comes with is great. Have really only scratched the surface with its capabilities so far as still figuring it out but have used it on hikes & airsoft and would definitely recommend.

For radios themselves lots of people will recommend baofengs uv5r which can be good and can be good for starter or Airsoft radios.

However, to use them you should have a license and when people get the licenses they tend to go for the small business licence (£75 for 5 years) and covers a group of people. Some sites (gunman Airsoft for example) and allow customers to use their licence/channels. Lots of people don't bother to get a license and I have never heard of anyone being caught, but that's the law bit covered.

You shouldn't use them on pmr channels (too powerful) but you'll have channels you can use them on

They take the standard Motorola or kenwood (can't remember)fittings, so you could get a standard speaker mic for them and a covert ear piece. Or you could go to someone like JCI Comms and get a military style ptt which would mean you can plug them into your military style headset. Going this way is expensive, but good Comms are expensive. There are issues mixing and matching repro comm stuff with real stuff, JCI can recommend.

You could also go for standard pmr radios from Argos, but most won't be powerful enough for some sites (especially with buildings). And headsets etc will be more limited.

Next up you could go for Motorola, kenwood or yaesu. They're the next level and most will need licenses. Similar issues as with baofengs on the accessories department but the QC on the handsets it better. Baofengs have a habit of failing when they are exposed to damp, I used then for weekend events and after binning off my 4th or 5th one I got a Kenwood and have used it since, £25 per baofeng or £175 for a Kenwood. I was using it for a lot of weekend events, in the rain, cold, snow, hot etc.

If you really want to pay out but have what should be amazing comms, you could get a TCA or Tri 148/152, basically repros of real radios, £250+ for the radio + only works with legit ptts and headsets. JCI Comms (Facebook and instagram) will be your friend here. From what I've seen they're amazing when they work but often have issues or niggles.

For you, my recommendation would be a baofeng uv5r, a baofeng speaker mic and a covert ear piece from eBay, roughly £45 all in, plus your license if you need one (depending on your site). It works for most airsofters needs 95% of the time. If you really enjoy them etc, then upgrading when you're more knowledgeable is sensible.

I don't know about blue tooth for the foregrip based ptts, sounds good but risky Vs hardwired

I'd second the baofeng. I've been using them for years and they are still going. I run a fist mic attached to my rig then plug in my earpro when I wearing them. The only mod I did to the fist mic was to add a mute switch so I could sneak up to folk and not have the radio give me away.

Well I wanted to see if the LCT AK19 grip would fit on an Acrturus AK12. The good news is that it does but the bad news is that it's a pig of a job quite frankly. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else to try.

G&G CM16 raider (not the 2.0) in 2018, still have it and still use it as the 'main' RIF, still really need to get a better hop up, spring and barrel for it as in outdoor skirmishes it really is outranged very easily

Thanks chaps. Put the sten kit up  at 275.00
The AEG IS 220 new  mags 15.00 each bag 50 and sling 20.00 & suppressor  £60.00 I guess its idown to if anyone wants the lot or not.  I'll put an ad on here too. They're  surprisingly good to shoot. Rof about right for a real STEN and accurate. 370fps too. I've also got a NOS pistol grip made for operation  Market Garden, designed literally on a fag packet days before and rapidly produced.  Turned sten into a great cqb weapon. So simple a design  too. The original STENS designed to be produced by the likes of Raleigh bikes as just bent steel tubes. The bolt and barrel the only high precision  parts. Plus they were designed to use the  MP40 mags so ammo could be taken off of the enemy.

The finish on mk1&2's was pot black. The paint used to paint motorbike  engines and cylinder heads at the time. Cheap and simple to produce was the spec and they certainly were. British ingenuity at its finest.

    Thanks for your input all.

If anyone is interested please message me. I'll get an ad up.

70% of the cheapest new was thrown around on another thread I think? So could do that for each thing and see what it comes up to.

Really good CQB site with well thought out man made cover and barricades. The site owner and marshal team set a tone of professionalism and are efficient.

As a team we had a reasonable day, only really hampered by the high temperatures. I think it’ll definitely be one to revisit later on in the year when things are a bit cooler and perhaps players are a bit more engaging with the objectives.

All that aside, we did have some really good moments clearing buildings, getting the drop on people and just general airsoft banter! I personally didn’t see or hear or a single instance of non-hit taking either!

If you’re in the Midlands and fancy some great CQB.. give it a go!

some appraisal  advice really. I bought the AGS STEN  & MP40 as wall hangers. Always wanted one since playing war as a kid. So when I saw them it made sense. I bought the replica bags with pouches for mags, then 4x  50rnd mags each, repro slings Even invested in the Vintage Arms(?) STEN suppressor kit and uprated rear QR bolt and fixed the wobbling butt plate the AGS STEN's seem to have so the the stock is solidly attached. Big plans....18 months on they're  not up on the wall but gathering dust. I have Shot them both once  and great fun.
As much as I (thought) i wanted them they're not used and put away.  I use more 'modern' AEG's when my back allows. MP5-SD, G36c G18c G19  & UMP are more my cuppa tea.

I'm considering selling the STEN and MP40 with all their accessories  to somone who will hopefully  get some use and pleasure out of them.
Given the accessories and AEG's they are literally like new condition  wise and selling each with all the bits a rough guide on prices would much be appreciated.

    Pic of mp40 below.

It's really not a veiled ad.  I cannot find similar for sale with all the bits and pieces. Not sure  if It's best to sell the AEG's with mag, batt and charger and the repro bag, slings 3x mags, etc separately.  To me it seems sensible to sell as one lot but new to this and bout to display more than use.

    I'd appreciate  any advice

    Paul

Blue two-tone WE P226 from JustBBGuns in December 2015!

I then just plinked in my garden until the second half of 2016, when I thought it'd be fun to be able to use it against other people (in an insured and consenting game format of course). Booked my first skirmish at my local site and loved the concept but hated the rental guns, so sorted UKARA ASAP and bought a G&G Predator.

Oh and have long since sold both, spending waayyyy too much money to achieve very little difference in performance.

OP Paramount at Ultimate Wargames Kent.  Basic theme was UN Inspectors/arms dealers/FSB/US TF/Aid Groups/hapless civvies/crazed jihadis, somewhere in the middle-east.

As one can imagine, the field was confused and confusing.  Alliances were formed, broken and formed with suspicion again.   Foes became friends and deals with opposing sides were done.   The fluidity of play was amazing.

Day one, we awoke covered in dust having dossed down in the village.  Sleeping bags were rolled up and rifs hidden as the US TF entered and searched the compound in two jeeps.  Various villagers and sleeper jihadis crowded around and played havoc with the operation as the aid workers played nursemaid and intermediary.  With instructions to delay the TF, the keys to their Landy were nicked, as was a dopey players rif.  When they went to pull out (spare keys were found), some silly sod played wounded in the road and delayed them some more.

Really the whole thing was hilarious.  Great airsoft vibe without a shot fired.  The immersion was fantastic.  As we had arrived and been assigned straight to our quarters, no one knew who was playing other than our own team members.  Meeting up in game mode really worked.  Playing terror faction was great as the village construction meant free fruit and coffee, chilling with friends and a few halal beers.

The game developed with each faction having its own agenda and pursuing it with vigour.  Objectives were found and searched for and various items assembled.  By the late afternoon , shots were fired and the arms dealers (I think) and TF were actively at each other.  The confusion was palpable and info was eagerly devoured.

Various tasks were assigned and attempted.  Missile systems were traded, stolen and hidden.  Teams set up meetings, ambushed each other and worked together.   Ad hoc fire teams were formed among the locals and the village defended.  Vehicles probed the perimeter as did drones and spies.  Updates became essential.

By nightfall everyone was confused and tired, happy and ready for a ceasefire.  Drinks were drunk and food cooked.  By midnight most were in bedrolls and snoring.

Sunday was started with absolute wonder at who had achieved what, who had reached their objectives and who had not.  The game became 100% hot with each faction fighting the next.  We probed the woods and structures for objectives, fought and made shaky alliances anew.  At one point, we ambushed the arms dealers, nicked the FSB's missiles and launched a false attack on the TF.   I don't know or care who won, but it was immense fun.

At close of play there were conspicuously fewer players and a sense of complete confusion as to who had won.

Personally I enjoyed myself immensely.  It is somewhat liberating to throw oneself about in fancy dress with a toy gun.  In conclusion, the roleplay based roles were done to perfection, the TF/FSB players were superb, they really did have some skills.  The terror cell were a blast to play with.  The UN/Aid roles were played with much patience and skill.

In conclusion, it was well worth the three hour drive and cost.

Moans: I experienced one incident of bad hit taking in 20+ hours.  I realised that I had been hit as I pulled out of an ambush.  I absent-mindedly rubbed a sore forearm as I pulled out from my position only to realise too late that I had been hit.  TBF with my nerve damage and the insect bites from the previous weeks camping, the odd strange pain is hardly unknown.  I gave myself a 15 min KIA as penance and comforted myself that I must have traded with the last chap that I shot before disappearing.

Some of the ambushes could have been better coordinated.  If important to the story/plotline these could have been better timed, but so could about 98% of life, so no biggy.  Given the complexity of things, bringing them off at all was a minor miracle.

Each side lacked snipers.  Not really noticed in game but realised later.  Given the layout, only one half of the game map would have had limited benefit anyhow.

That really is it for negatives.

I did spot a women player.  She was well geared up and well into the scenario, thwacking various foes from advantageous points and having a ball.   If we got a better gender balance at this type of event, we'd all benefit.

The immersion, gameplay and fun were outstanding.  Good use of technology and vehicles. sides were well balanced and arranged, objectives were well planned and coordinated due to the way the game was planned to unfold.

In all I had a great weekend, played myself ragged, had a catch up with mates and drove home knackered.  I'll do next year for sure.  I am certainly up for the next @SierraBravo event.

First game in 2 years last weekend at Spartan airsoft CQB, went with a group of 6 friends from school, one of which was his first time. Overall good day, as always the stairs acted as massive chokepoints in games where there was a lack luster objective but other than that the marshalls & games were good.

    [rant ahead]
One massive peev I have though is the fat fuckers who love to mouth off at the back ranting and raving to rentals, kids etc that they need to f'ing push up more and stop pussying around, while they sit at the back catching their breath from walking 2 feet. I can understand a bit of encouragement, most people usually give some and it is helpful for pushing out a choke point but when its the same tards with about 3 teeth and as many braincells all day, arguing with marshalls and saying they'll wrap their 'rifle' around someones head, throat punch this that and the other it gets annoying as fuck. Hit taking was alright, apart from one classic SAS patched black multicam warrior who obviously thought his plates were real as it took about 5 bursts for him to stop shooting other people (If you're going to wear a bulky set up and can't feel hits, for the love of god take it off). The whole thing seemed to have way more agro people than I remembered with a couple of out bursts through out the day from people who forgot we are running around with toy guns for a bit of fun.

Other than the aforementioned rant, a good day and everyone came away happy in my group and wanting to go even further with upgrades and such, especially the new guy who's first time it was and is now saving to buy his own kit. He did mention a couple of times he people weren't taking hits but that was part and parcel sadly. Was also really fun to put the radios to use within the group. Now to get me ukara back in time for that fal
