JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to NickM in Airsoft related jobs for 14 year old
Kitchen porters and pot washer is often one for a younger person. Speak to your local pubs and restaurants, tends to be evening work, so Friday, Saturday and Sunday lunch will be the busiest times you may find vacancies. Although I think if they take on someone under 16 you need to have a form filled in by school to make sure they are covered.

I was (for a short time) the voice of Oswald the train at the Midland railway museum. basically I was in a small office near the train with a microphone connected to a speaker on the train. Fun job for a couple of weeks.

At 14 I worked as a talking train in a museum. Not many of those jobs around though!

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to n1ckh in death threats to the guy who created ceramic poppys
I agree, its not just common wealth forces who died in all conflicts around the globe, but remembrance is for every person who has died military and civilian
I live in hope that one day all conflict will cease (and I'm not a bible bashing god botherer) but it will take many years to get there
I've also known families who have lost relatives, friends etc (some I've known aswell) but these people dont hold a grudge to what there relatives did, they take great pride in this and that's why these ignorant scum bags will never break our spirits
Many have tried and failed

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to n1ckh in death threats to the guy who created ceramic poppys
Can you believe the guys receiving death threats ??
Its a disgrace, I know its not just from extremists but even the British public, I've seen kids and adults taking the absolute piss on remembrance day and its taken all my strength not to kick the f*****g sh1t out of them
Its not wonder there's so much hatred in the country when "civilised" people do this
Hate mongering scum bags, try being in our service personnel's shoes or even there families when they've lost a son or daughter etc but I know it won't change anything
Yes we occupied various country's through out our history but we're also usually the 1st ones there to sort it out

Here are my 2 so far:
First up is a bog standard L85A2 with Susat:
Before anyone picks me up on it I know the front sight pillar needs to come of
Second Rifle is an F88 Austeyr:
Note i've only created the Original or A1 version of the rifle Thale produced by using a TM body and a Beta Project F88 Flash hider.
Here is a good comparison picture which shows the difference between a Thale AUG and the original Austrian version:
They are both carbine versions hence why the barrels a bit different. Unfortunetly I lost the Gas Block on my rifle falling down a hill which is why you cant see it in the pictures of mine :/
What I would really like to create one of Thale's A2 variants:
Converting an airsoft A2 receiver should be possible, however no one sells the dam things separate so I have a hunt on my hands.
The A1 works nicely for me though as the NZ armed forces used DPM's, MK6 helmets and various forms of british webbing but, ironically enough due to the uselessness of the L85A1, they still use the F88A1s still to this day.

They're not the best it has to be said, however, they are correct in stating that they do need sufficient evidence that you are from a post production company or similar in order for the sale to be legal (typically a letter on the company stationery detailing the production the thing is for) and it does say that on their checkout page as far as I'm aware.
I work for a post production company too, and even though that means I could certainly use that status to purchase realistic imitation firearms for the special effects I produce, I know that it is a pain in the ass to provide that info, so I instead use my UKARA registration number. Frankly however, I would have just bought an orange BB gun, sprayed it matt black and then done all the other necessary visuals in After Effects if I were you.

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to ahotcosmonaut in justbbguns / Justbbguns.co.uk / Just bbguns
Hi all - I wanted to make you all aware of the trouble I have had in my dealings with Justbbguns.co.uk.
I am from a Film Production company and we had been trying to create a specific shot for a client. We had tried to create it using post production techniques but in the end we decided it would be easier to use a real looking gun.
So I had a look online and found this 'company'. I ordered a bb pistol and ticked the box saying I was from a production company. They took my money, confirmed my order and that was it. Or so I thought.
A few days later I received an email advising me my order was now on hold and to contact them immediately. So I did. But they didn't answer. For 3 days I tried to contact them until finally they responded to one of my emails and told me I had to provide a whole load of documents before I could complete my order. All this despite the fact they had already had my money for 5 days. Anyway by this time it was going to be to too late for the shoot anyway so I said forget it just refund my money. At which point they then said I would have to pay a 20% handling charge to cancel my order. At no point was this pointed out to me and nowhere does it say this on their website. So now I have to wait for the outcome of a claim made through Paypal against these thieves.
My advice - DO NOT DEAL WITH THESE CROOKS.

Update 2: I've came up with a new design. The stock for the other gun is too hard to find.
However I'll use this crane stock:

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to Berto in What are you listening to?
Was allowed to listen to acdc in the car today by the wife. Not been allowed to do that since I put "highway to hell" on as we drove to the hospital as she was in labour with our 2nd child, for some reason that was "insensative". Today was a good day

Today at lwa there a small kid, maybe aged 12, he talked about cod with the older people... Turns out those older people play cod too... So happy days.
Just depends on the people at the site i guess

I agree with what people said above
Chat with them, have fun and poke fun at yourself. Gives them no where to go, ask some of your mates to go along aswell
Both my boys do airsoft aswell, some of the people took the mickey out of them, when they said 'dad' to me, for some reason they stopped taking the mickey and treated them a bit more seriously and even asked them to be decoys or up front with them

I think people take this sport to seriously at times. It's just a game and it's meant to be fun. We all started out as noob rental players at some stage. I personally like it that we have a mix of ages and experience at my regular sites and haven't noticed to many problems. The main non hit takers are usually the experienced guys that take it a bit to seriously.

JamesAirsofterAgent reacted to cavninja in Uncomfortable Youth player
I agree with pretty much all of this, age is no indicator of being a good bloke or a sports man, I'm an old crusty in my mid 40s, I play with my teenage son, were lucky enough to have a fair amount of gear and after 23 years in the army, I don't mind chatting with anyone, young , old, new or vet.
I'm just happy to play, enjoy the sport and meet like minded people.
Stick with it buddy.

When people make insulting comments about me to my face I just nod my head and agree with them so they have nothing to push against and it just shows the other players how immature this person is.

This will just be my diary of how it goes. So here's the gun I'm trying to replicate:
1) Buy this:
http://www.airsoftdeals.co.uk/vltor-imod-style-stock/
2) Find an RAS that will fit.
3) Use my ACOG for ascetics.
4) Buy a cheap grip from Crawley Surplus Store.
5) Test it out.
If anyone can help me with the RAS then pls post.
Update 1:
I've taken the stock off. Now time to find a buffer tube.
Found a RAS unit. I'll install that first as it;s easier.
http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=8744
Luckily this will be quite a cheap build since I already have the base gun.
Update 1 edit: Here's a picture. Coming together nicely.

man up?
people are twats, they will be twats when you are young; they will be twats when you are old, no matter what you do in life you will be surrounded by twats. The trick it to rise above it, move on and ensure you don't become the twat yourself.
