  1. Yeh - I miss that site, it was only 7min drive from my front door. I only ever played it when under GZ management though - but I had many good times there.
  2. Meh. It's just another 'sportline' M4. It's made for ASG by Classic Army, known outside of Europe as the EC2. This review should cover it:
  3. I've been tempted DE M904 for some time, especially since the re-stock. The only thing that puts me off is the FCU - not heard anything (good or bad) about the reliability. If you want a reasonably cheap from a UK retailer, I would get the cheapest Specna Core (C01 or C02) and a cheapo chinese keymod rail from Aliexpress. You will probably need a new motor and hop bucking too. I have one of these as a backup blaster: https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/ics-cxppeleador-sportline-airsoft-rifle-aegblack-sale-save-36 Pretty decent for the money - shoots well out of the box. But it's ICS, so not everyone's cup of tea.
  4. There's still a couple about if you know where to look.....😜
  5. It's because it uses compressed gas to propel the projectile - in this case the forward movement of a piston in a cylinder. They've even banned certain Nerf guns due to this. I'm sure the 'look' of them doesn't help though, they probably have laws for that too.
  6. Didn't ICS use a different (i.e. not 'TM' Compatible) engagement angle on the bevel and pinion gears for their older models? I seem to remember stories of mulched gears if both were not replaced at the same time. Personally, I'd put the whole ICS set back in, and return it to 'stock' (spring included). If your FPS is low, check things such as air seal, hop up unit (the ICS plastic ones are brittle and can crack), and consider replacing your hop up bucking and nub. The stock motor in both my ICS guns are pretty decent on a 7.4v LiPo. I was a naughty boy and removed the fuses when rewiring them to Deans. Gained 1-2 RPS doing that alone.
  7. Didn't he drop off the radar during the last lockdown as well?
  8. Yeh, it's a Crosman Co2. I wanted reasonably accurate chrono readings so I can keep it within legal limits. TBH, looking into it, it's a bit of a faff though just to gain a couple extra ft/lb. He's only had the thing for a week. A classic case of upgrade-itus. He would probably be a TM NGRS owner if he was 30 years younger... Yeh, I had one of those Combros many, many moons ago. This was before the likes of UFpro, Xcortech or even Madbull making reasonably cheap airsoft Chronos. The Combro Works okay-ish for airsoft assuming that you could fit it onto the flashhider. Nowhere near as convenient to use though as you have to reset between shots, and no ROF readings. But at a basic level, it gets the job done.
  9. My father has an airgun (Crosman 2250XL Rat Catcher) and wants to do some upgrades to bump the power up slightly. I have an Xcortech X3200 Mk3 airsoft chronograph. Question is: can an airsoft Chronograph be used to measure an airgun pellet's velocity reasonably accurately? Has anyone tried it and ran comparisons against airgun-specific models? Ta Muchly
  10. Personally i think it's pretty despicable of Gate to limit the functionality of the hardware to force you to buy firmware.
  11. Here you go...again: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/Search?*inst=y&q=11.1v+crane Failing that: https://www.vapextech.co.uk/batteries/airsoft-batteries/li-po-packs/airsoft-11-1v-1300mah-30c-lipo-battery-with-case-lp304-vapextech/ Or (use code AAPOST in the order comments for free postage): https://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/strike-systems-111v-1300mah-20c-lipo-for-scorpion-evo-3-a1-split-packmini-tamiya Or even (never used the company so use at your own risk but appears to Patrolbase's recommended LiPo for the G&G Predator) : https://www.tangodown.co.uk/111v-lipo-batteries/228-giant-power-111v-1300mah-15c30c-lipo-crane-stock-airsoft-battery.html
  12. It should be great for nearly £70. Would a £9 CTR clone and a Dremel not achieve the same thing?
  13. It's my local site but I can't say that I'm a big fan of it. Too many hills and rhododendron bushes for my liking. Knackers my legs and you find some bugger camping in a bush locking a path down and it's damn near impossible to see them. It's good for beginners and kids, staff are friendly enough and facilities are good, the shooting range is a two-storey wild west saloon, which is quite cool. There are some interesting area on the site (i.e. The fort and village etc.) I find the Sunday game play a bit boring - it's a single game that lasts all day with objectives that have to be hit at set times throughout. You spend ages moving from objective to objective (the site is massive) but on quieter days you can go for quite some time without seeing the enemy team. Even if you do, the firefights a bit pointless unless you are on top of an objective. Saturday games are better - individual attack/defend games at certain (smaller) locations throughout the site. It's probably a good place to start back, but I would be looking slightly further afield in future, there some great sites within an hour or so drive of Bournemouth (e.g. UCAP Bunker/Dorchester Prison, Ironsight in Andover etc) Have fun.
  14. Most smart/intelligent chargers require you to plug in both the balance connector and the mini-tamiya connector. If you look at the picture I posted earlier in the thread, you'll see the batteries are connected via the main power connector to the charger (I use deans connectors which are red as opposed the white/translucent mini-tamiya connectors) and the balance plug is connected to a break-out balance board that's also connected to the charger. Check out this video (7:30 onwards shows the balance charging of a LiPo)
  15. Yeh, good point. Something like this off can be had off eBay for less than £3 posted: You would need to swap the pins over though to change the polarity. Stupid Airsoft standards. Only takes a minute to do with a Bic Biro:
  16. I covered that in my last post: https://www.hobbyrc.co.uk/skyrc-s65-65w-6a-ac-balance-charger
  17. Here you go: https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-nano-tech-1400mah-3s-15-25c-lipo-airsoft-pack-1.html?queryID=e73d148b7cf99f064f8a620a7f81de38&objectID=31051&indexName=hbk_live_magento_en_us_products
  18. Have we done this one yet?: You won't find this gun in the UK! You will find it in Poland though.... TaiwanGun: Base gun £153 'A5' Stock £16 Knockoff CTR Stock £10 Kublai PMags £8 each Vert Grip £7 Total: £202 This guy wants £240 (No Offers! Collection only) - So those H&K stickers must be totally worth the extra £38...
  19. Good reviews on YouTube. I've not heard anything bad about them in the RC community. I've got one on order, so will be able to give a better review when it arrives. Mine is actually intended to be used a field charger for when I go RC flying, using a 12v Leisure battery as a power source. They are available from UK retailers too, but they never stay in stock for very long. Hopefully that's a positive indication. I know a few guys with SkyRC S65s, less flashy (monochrome screen) but apparently solid performers. AC powered so no external supply needed, just plug into the wall socket and go. £32 on www.HobbyRc.co.uk (excellent UK company). I'm using some old CoreRC chargers that I picked up second hand for a tenner each as my 'home' chargers. They are old and slow, the balance logic is crap compared to newer designs, they've got the job done for the last couple of years but I will be replacing them soon. I always run at least two chargers for redundancy, if one breaks I can still go flying or play Airsoft (guess how I learnt that particular lesson). *Edit* invest in some LiPo charging bags, I normally use them but have left them out of the photo. LiPo fires, whilst very rare, can be devastating. I store my LiPos in a Bat-Safe LiPo box in a shed down the end of the garden, well away from any property of significant value.
  20. I would ordinarily recommend Turnigy NanoTech from Hobbyking, but the UK warehouse is low on stock at the moment. The biggest thin nunchuck they have is 1400mah but with a 15C rating. They have 1300mah with a 25C rating. Both are 2s (don't run 3s in a Nuprol). But they are super cheap, less than £7, so buying 2 or 3 won't break the bank. I've been using NanoTechs for years in airsoft and RC.
  21. Yeh, mines on a slow boat from China at the moment along with some other RC gear I ordered. The unit only costs £21 and has got a colour IPS display and more functions than than the average Airsoft player will ever need. I've just received a ToolkitRC ADP100 power supply for £15 that plugs straight into the Q6 Nano. The whole setup is about a 8-9 quid more expensive than a basic (genuine) Imax B6 WITHOUT a power supply, but can supply double the wattage if needs be. Only limiting factor is that the Q6 Nano can only handle up to 4S LiPo's instead of the B6s 6S, but it's not an issue for my usage.
  22. Your point hasn't been lost on me. My point is that there are dozens, if not hundreds of ex-forces dudes worldwide that are posting this kind of stuff on social media day in, day out. Times have moved on, even if you have not. You don't know the background of this particular guy either, he could be ex-Slovakian 5th Special Forces regiment for all we know. Your point about taking pictures is an odd one. Take the photo yourself then you are a knob for posting it? But if the camera is in someone else's hands, and you post the pics (like the SAS dude) it's ok? Or are they all walting bellends? Anyway, I think I've said enough, consider the above rhetorical - I don't think we'll ever agree on the subject. TTFN
