  1. That's hardly 'weaning' though - they are just heavier M4s.
  2. I have 6 M4s. In my defence, I have two sons that play as well, so that's a main gun and a spare each. Three of the M4s are ICS guns in various configurations. I have the flexibility to mix and match parts should one go down, or I want a different setup for Woodland or CQB etc. Every time I deviate from the M4 platform with another gun type, I find myself wishing it was an M4. Unlike what some heathens on this thread tell you (looking at you @rocketdogbert 😜) , the correct formula for owning M4s is: N = N+1. N representing the number of M4s you currently own. So carry on. 😁
  3. G&G SCARs are decent guns. I would pump some cash into upgrading that in the first instance (something like a Perun ETU would be a good start). I know it doesn't do the cool stuff you are after, but it'll send BB's downrange as efficiently as any other AEG.
  4. Hey, if it makes your bollocks tingle and you can square it with the missus, then go for it…😜 A well looked after TM NGRS will hold value fairly well too, should you wish to part company with it at a later date.
  5. But that’s the point, it IS an error by DE, the pic I posted was of the REAL ACP556 taken directly from the B&T website. The markings on the Airsoft version are wrong. You tried to be the smart arse adding incorrect context to a spelling mistake made in the DE factory for internet cool points.
  6. Well, things haven't really changed - expect sub-300fps out of the box and meh ROF, but you get the recoil and bolt stop. You do get metal bodies (with the exception of guns like the G36) on the NGRS line. The TM fans will be along shortly, but essentially some will tell you that it'll be the best gun ever - once you pay a gun tech a fuck-tonne of cash so they can gut the pretty much the entire gearbox and replace with aftermarket parts. Allegedly these techs have secret stocks of the patented 'TM Fairy Dust' that they pour into the newly 'upgraded' gearboxes to make them even more amazeballs. You'll also be told by others fans that the low stock FPS is not an issue - you just have to be more patient as the BB slowly ambles over to your target. I mean, the person you will be shooting at will be so impressed by the TM shooting at them, they'll stand completely still and wait for you. Perk of TM NGRS ownership apparently. Recoil and bolt stop is cool though.
  7. Good info. I take it they feed fine? Oh, and welcome to the forums. 🙂
  8. Well, you wanted your Ackchyually moment.... I was going to argue that I've not seen a modern firearm stamped with 'COL' and COAL is the acronym used when it comes to cartridge length in any other context, but couldn't be bothered at the time. But carry on and keep trying to win the internet.
  9. Yeah. If it ain't broke, leave the fucking thing alone. 🙄 You're welcome.
  10. I would need an MWS trigger guard to take measurements - I'm assuming they are not the same as AEGs (narrower?) Knocked up a version that's closer in appearance to the HK A5 Type, but using ICS hole spacing/vertical thickness for now.
  11. Nope - I don't have an MWS - I only own budget blasters. 😉 Looks like a 'proper' HK416A5 style guard would be a fairly easy design/print though.
  12. Gotta love ICS and their 'not-quite-TM' standards. Not even a 'normal' AEG trigger guard will fit an ICS CS4-spec gun. Oh well, I'll design my own - kinda HK416A5 style. It also fills that pesky gap between the grip and receiver so it's much more comfortable,
  13. Firstly, welcome to the forums. You could buy some ali tube in the correct diameter and cut the notches into it with a hacksaw to DIY a tool if you want a non-damaging/marring method of removal. Apparently, according to this thread, you can wedge a couple of allen keys in there and bodge it out though if you are not too bothered about the condition that the nut comes out. I have designed and 3d printed tools for other proprietary G&G barrel nuts in the past, they are not massively torqued-down by the factory so the plastic is strong enough. Indeed, there is a file on thingiverse (not my design) if you or a mate has a 3D printer. Happy to print you a couple for a few quid (to cover postage) if you get stuck.
  14. Out of interest - how would you know that the owner hasn't followed the instructions? What's to say that he didn't just put the mag in the gun for the Sales photos? Genuine question - not picking holes.
  15. Fuck it - this is Macks. Name and shame n'all that.
  16. This one? The pic of the Gearbox alone would have put me off. I wonder if @andrey has the balls to comment on this. What a shit. Taking a look at his other listings, this picture stands out: A zip tie around the front sight post, and some other gunk probably to hold it all together. Quality gunsmithing right there.
  17. If the motor is the same as the one that came in my Cyma AKS-74U (blue internals) , it's as slow as molasses - i think around 10RPS IIRC. Replace it with a 16TPA SHS or similar. A 7.4v LiPo will then run the gun quite happily at around 15RPS.
  18. Just noticed - they haven't even fitted a new gear set, they kept the Krytac OEM and replace the self-shimming spring on the spur gear with a spacer. I guess they are relying on the Warhead motor to 'upgrade' the RPS. I would also guess that it's using the OEM GB shell if using the stock gears. And they have a £6 SHS piston in a £1.4k gun and touting it as a big deal. Nothing wrong with SHS, but it doesn't fit the absurd price tag. The spec of this gun is, well, 'off' in my opinion. A real CTR stock....why? it just costs more and there plenty of decent clones - many would never know the difference. A mock silencer...why not a tracer unit? A set of BUIS that no one will use...why not a Vortex Crossfire? I think Patrolbase is trying to create their own version of Umbrella Armory. I get that Hi-capas can be ludicrously expensive things, but at this price point, I would want a full custom build where I get to specify every part, colour and finish. For the money, I would want something 100% unique to me, with a low likelihood of ever seeing another the same...anywhere. Here, they are just 'production' guns churned out en masse.
  19. The Kriss stock looks much cleaner on there. The hinge on the AA stock looks a bit clunky in comparison. New budget backup blaster:
  20. Looks like Patrolbase is taking a leaf from Dave at DCA's book on how to con *ahem* make money out of Airsofters... £1.4K for this: A suped-up Krytac. Doesn't even have the TM appeal. You could build/buy a very nice HPA setup for waaay less money. Then there's this - £1.2K for a Hi-Capa: I would expect either gun to be able a gnat's bollock at 100 paces for that kind of money.
  21. It looks like it's got a Specna holographic sticker above the trigger and a missing faux selector cap. Also got the shit Specna stock irons. Biggest giveaway is the mock bolt - it doesn't have the proper indentations like a RS gun - a limitation of having a gearbox in the upper receiver. Then's there's the complete lack of carbon buildup around the muzzle end of the gun So yeh, it's an Airsoft gun. Even in war, never pass up an opportunity for Insta-likes eh?
