  1. ak2m4 to the rescue once more - should get that guy a cape i reckon
  2. you can try/buy a pack at halftime just don't switch midgame - I tried a bag of .28's and spent too much time pi$$balling about adjusting my hop and was taken out very very quickly so lesson learnt - don't try and switch thinking it will only take a sec soz to my team - I was exceptionally crap that afternoon
  3. http://www.airsoftworld.net/elite-forces-sl14-speed-loader.html now that's a loader - 40bb's per pump but only for w@nkers, posers, and people with little else to buy (yeah we bought one - way ott but looks more manacing than most of my guns)
  4. yup may need bedding in a bit to build up to full capacity.... don't add anything to them but bb's..... some say drop of oil or silicone - nope you really don't wanna contaminate the mags some pushed through some old used bb's with a hint of silicone from yonks back but you really don't wanna chuck in anything yet........ it is like a car running in some mags - usually after about 4 fills they should get near their capacity and feed sweet suppose you can fill up a speedloader with a few hundred bb's run them into mag, pop mag patially full in a carrier bag and flick the bb retainer catch a few times more, refill speedloader with bb's in bag - repeat etc...... should see some improvement but hopefully without need to add oil as there is always a danger of overdoing a faintest of spray oily bb's won't go well through hop them ones - think many have got them run quite well very quickly - well seem to for me one of a handful of mags that feed great in a picky 416
  5. I'd stick with .20's and see how you go..... your gun is at 330 not 350 for Mall if shooting mainly in woods the wind won't be as bad unless you have more open battles (wood/trees will shelter some of the breeze factors unless you play in stronger breezes) my own site has an area which is completely open field on about 40% of "village" area so long shots may suffer a bit more deviation from wind etc..... learn ya gun's range and wisely choose when to open fire see how you go with .20's first, but if not then try .25's if your losing range perhaps I have used some .25's but jnr still sticks on .20's I need as much help as I can get but that sod was still kicking my ar$e from afar on .20's
  6. G18 has full auto option I think
  7. damn vouchers - ooh I got £10 off says the fool who spends £100 coz it was a bargain honest dear - I know I said that was it - 2 orders ago but this was a must have at a discounted price yeah - mrs duck has heard them all - now I tend to just pick my moments to inform her whats - or some of whats turning up next atm - I'm still cheap over last 2 weeks or so, the kids expenditure has been a drain with little left for my more serious toy gun crap
  8. nice work as the crack is underneath at front of receiver - you can still make up & fit a small external U or n shaped support as well that shouldn't foul any of the front end fitting into receiver painted black - nobody will ever know at first glance - bit like some scope mounts little block made up fixed with some slightly longer M3 bolts will keep her together with a U or n clip/support and will only help in to make the repair last perhaps oohh be really clever - make up the support as a underside AK scope mount SORT OF LIKE THIS NB - note sure 101% if all AK mounts will fit your exact model as there is some slight variations between make/models but you kinda get the idea of what I was saying to add extra support if it has a full U clip than the L shape clip in pic welcome to forum - your skills & equipment and approach in general are very impressive btw slicone oil is also good for polishing barrel & cylinder - not quite machine polished I know but that stuff is mega slippery - keep it well away from hop bucking - but 80 to 90% of barrel polished works very well as long as barrel/cylinder isn't scratched up the silicone works very well hopefully in use they get polished up a bit but like most stuff - tiny bit of crap and it gets scratched very easily
  9. indeed m8, but though I'm guilty of over-indulging myself the biggest kid in our family I draw the line at mega spoiling & totally ruining kids saw somebody at Mall's showcase walk out with P* M4 plus 2 x tanks etc..... carried by a youngster with his dad yeah ok I got tons of crap so kinda same difference could be said but my son's dream of a tippman/polarstar can wait a long long time (sod it he can get a job is my view if he wants the higher end stuff) But I guess to each their own views or preferences It is more important to remind us all how fortunate we all are being grateful for what we have got - not what we ain't got if people/kids lose sight of that then parents have truely failed imho yeah I bet he would love a tippman/p* etc.... but my 3-way wife's fit m8 thing is very unlikely to happen too so keep dreaming - keep dreaming very soz to OP to totally derail thread - AGAIN mods perhaps limit my replies to say something smaller like 2,000 words
  10. yeah that is what I keep telling him - that mofo will shake itself to bits (does hose some bb's out though - but yeah on full auto with kick it's a bit all over the place) cqb & backup he was grinning like a cheshire cat getting quite a few kills on its first outing more mags proper holster & probably propane kit will be required at this rate (he did well in gcse's so I guess mum can stump up the other bits - I'm skint now)
  11. he has a number of names I use depending on situation but he like numerous kids knows what is good and what isn't (I'm not having that - its crap) - blame the parents I know pistol wise - rapid shooting on full auto, looks & feels the part too, parts available etc.... I probably won't get/use one but can fully understand why they are so popular
  12. Duck jnr just got a WE G18 gen 4 and is over the moon with it (roughly put - must be good if he likes it)
  13. the self adhesive neoprene is a strong tacky adhesive and works well for a very quick fixing it is a sticky bastid to remove - fairy liquid & alcohol required to remove that crap for sandwich (did look for plain washers but I have those and know the size/hole is just right) the sorbothane - don't wast time/money on buying the self adhesive for a couple of quid extra it is $hit adhesive hence I listed the plain sorbo make sure you do a "peel" test on cylinder head's stock sorbo - one of them came apart on me and the whole block of rubber was flapping/locking up gearbox - it was stock pad that came away the neoprene was still stuck like $hit to blanket - them neoprene's on there own are fine as is for mild builds so just before fitting - I now do a peel test and if in doubt remove old stock neo pad and reglue it all with proper superglue that fuses these rubber bits together. Clean up cylinder head then key or scratch to ensure it all stays put when fixing it all to the cylinder head - sorted Sorbo is a bit crappy to cut as it squishes - did look into cutting tips.... some freeze it to harden it a little, others use a craft hole punch to get clean neat hole just make hole a smidge bigger as it reduces when it squishes down, top off with neoprene on top sorted - take ya time and it will be a straight forward piece of cake/sandwich etc....
  14. bits n bobs this week included some clone B6 chargers (must get these clones calibrated - genuine ones are fine out of box) nearly bought a couple of cheap of old laptop psu's which should of worked @ £4:50 del http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-IBM-Lenovo-Thinkpad-08K8203-72W-16V-4-5A-Power-AC-Adapter-Laptop-Charger-/400423702601?hash=item5d3b1cd049 with lead and 2.5/5.5mm plug - sounds a bargain for £4:50 16v 4.5amp (yeah it should be 5amp but I don't wish to boost charge at 5c) anyway - ended up buying a lot of universal laptop chargers at about half that price so 4 clone B6's and 8 uni psu's - £57 delivered But HobbyKing (EU store - UK is more expensive btw) have genuine B6's at about £18 + shipping (psu still required) so that is a lot cheaper than many other places - alas saw that after I bought clones (4 for £40) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4pcs-IMax-B6-Digital-LCD-LiIon-LiPo-LiFe-NiMh-battery-Balance-Charger-UK-/200976394796?hash=item2ecb206a2c NOTE - these are clones, so read up about recalibrating them to maintain accuracy to prevent under/over charging next up - a few fire extinguishers for when I start using them
  15. make up a sobo/neoprene sandwich....... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SRM-TECH-SORBOTHANE-ISOLATING-DISCS-PACK-8-GREAT-VALUE-/331627752762?hash=item4d368ded3a http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neoprene-Rubber-Penny-Washers-Adhesive-Backed-M4-M5-M6-M8-M10-M12-SN0001-/250981193606?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item801394491d on moderate builds a couple of neoprenes will suffice to simply correct AoE, will stick to stock cylinder head well (M4 - 20mm is the size you seek btw) BUT for higher 25rps or higher springs a proper sorbo sandwich is perhaps best to adsorb shock better you will have to make up the sandwich but have a top level of hard wearing neoprene as sorbo will break down you will also have to make a hole in the sorboathene disc - maybe a little larger than M4 - say 5mm hole (hole reduces in size as sorbo squishes under pressure/impact) if making up sorbo sandwich - clean off all self adhesive on neo pads with alcohol, remove stock neo maybe on cylinder head fuse the stuff together with proper super glue and it should all affix well to the head, slight cushion and AoE sorted (with sorbo - ensure you check AoE with spring in there as sorbo will compress from 3mm to 1.5mm under load) pretty sure it is 70d - heck ring/email them to confirm if you wish or there is some sorbo 70d sheets on fleabay but the sorbo discs are cut to about the right size already sorbathene isn't cheap but the above is what I recently started to use myself though tbh I ain't too bothered about re-doing the guns with just neoprene in there (a 5mm wall of neo is still better than a stock 2mm wall of neo imho) though just recently I started to use the sorbo sandwich (Subway is still way better and tastier but makes a mess in ya gun)
  16. I think we would like to blame rental noobs and yup seen crazy crap like lifting masks in middle of game I could say a fair percentage are the younger players - perhaps young rental noobs But there is also some veterans or older players taking it way too seriously no way did that little 12yr old JBBG $hit take out me & my TM mofo gun little $hit was camping I'm not having that so close to objective..... But non-hit takers are not the biggest ar$eholes..... I think the gobby players abusing other younger team members, screaming & bitching then doing the same mouthing off to marshals when they pull them up looks a lot worse Seriously - You look real bell-ends, despite that some players/marshals may not be perfect either but causing a scene only makes it worse and in then end it is just a game with toy guns - nowt to stress out over that said - if I got a bit pumped up or had an internal hissy fit myself I'm sorry to anybody seeing me throw my dummy I think I've tried to mellow out a bit and see it as a "fun" sport rather than a "win" sport
  17. Yup I'll admit to delayed reaction when pumped up Group of people screaming at me OK ffs I didn't recognise it in that split second coz I couldn't work out where it came from. A fortnight ago one bb must have grazed my top arm so much I called it but asked a marshal if he had hit tested me but said no, like I said I called it already and was obviously enemy just just grazed me to think it came from marshal on my left side. End of the day, don't take it too seriously or get too worked up about it all. Then you just call it even if unsure Which is the exactly what airsoft relies upon Don't get too stressed if you see a bb bounce of an enemy, just tell yourself they need a two hit handicap and go for the second shot, followed by the rest of you mag until the bastid calls it. Seriously, all sites the odd incident or dubious player(s) Kids rental or noobs usually but you do get the odd veteran from time to time. If it bothers you or gets too much and marshals do little then try another site coz numerous non-hit takers can really ruin game/fun or even a site's reputation I hopefully play as fair as possible hopefully just calling it at times that it might be rebound If I feel 2 shots that were most likely to be rebounds I call it just in case it was a direct hit I haven't seen Well that the way I think/play with my hand on heart
  18. my mate Dave after he's eaten a green thai curry man that has some real punch - even he nearly vomits (soz ignore me but couldn't resist stupid silly comment)
  19. that is one expensive bad ass - but hopefully a purchase that will hold its value better than any toy gun (just as well coz your toy gun budget is history - next loadout - overalls/bib & brace ???)
  20. first read up on this: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/17294-ians-guide-to-noobism-on-a-tight-budget/ in fact read up a bit on some the excellent guides in new players section - many answers & info pop along to a local site - they can test the gun's performance and you can get a chance to try it all out if you like see if you shed some light on make or even take a pic for us to guess the make/model (if its a PolarStar I'll give you £50 or swap you a proper B500A1 - just kidding) welcome sir - UK's best place for toy gun shooters peew peew peew
  21. Akimbo ak74 dsg's Both with 1k mags screw ultra long range, wait a bit to get into range then unleash bb hell on earth.... Seriously nigh on any AEG could qualify for that if tweaked enough.
  22. Guns come with fuses by default and they should perhaps continue with fuses or themal fuses especially for general/first builds On higher speed/load guns the old fashioned fuses act as a point of resistance on higher stress builds so a number of people do away with them - BUT it is not advised unless you know your gun and prepared for the risk I can't tell you or anybody else for that matter - the fuse is there as a safety/overload feature doing away with it is not highly recomended Some mosfets like the Firestorm is supposed to have a thermal fuse installed and should be fine to remove fuse if you wish Other fet's do not have thermal fuse The old fuse is on the positive wire anyway if it was on the negative wire - then it might be ideal to replace fuse with mosfet but fet runs on negative line plus a normal mosfet doesn't offer any protection against overload/short circuit etc.... so you may as well leave fuse as it is, splice into main negative line for mosfet and wire in a fet signal line from trigger to fet Hope this answers your question - ignore what some others do (I make a regular habit of busting stuff and can afford to replace broken cheap stuff)
  23. on V3's fitting a fet doesn't require opening up box as wiring is external the negative wire that ran from battery to motor is cut and fet is wired into it (fet switches negative supply to complete the switching circuit) on the switch itself - 2 red leads one from battery and one to motor these two wires are joined BUT on 1 terminal of switch the spare unused terminal has a thinner wire running back to fet - the mosfet's signal wire In effect instead of switch positive and had a permanent negative supply like old stock setup you now have a permanent posi supply a switched posi signal wire to fet which will trigger the fet and turn on/switch the negative supply to complete circuit/run the motor NB - this is a very basic setup using existing wire with addition of just 1 thinner wire to signal to fet to switch on/off
  24. Only my own personal opinion.... Rifle scope - nope it ain't a dmr TBB - sod madbull a zci one I'd rather buy if your fps is a little down - say 330 & site is 350 plus you aren't 101% with current performance then go for a modest tbb like zci - aprox £20-ish, fps should creep up a little say 15fps-ish different buckings can make a big difference especially if fitted good or badly fitted look to reduce any barrel wobble & that is all you can do unless you go to next stage of r-hop (which I haven't got into yet so can't advise) anything left over - get decent .25's one other thing you could consider is another hop and getting a longer tbb with a 4" barrel extension son's 416 has a 407 zci in it with a barrel extension the hop is optional but you "could" keep old 300mm barrel n hop then swap longer barrel/hop over in a minute with the outer extension for woodland swap back to shorter 300mm for indoor/cqb stuff ooh now you are confused what to consider
  25. yeah I suppose - think it has about a 400-ish barrel but tbh a dmr would need a bit more work to hop & perhaps barrel 425-450fps is fine but need to make sure its flight is as true as possible (more than normal aeg as you can't shoot below 25 or 30m MED - which is gonna be crap if bb's are all over the place/dropping short from not so good hop) give it a go on dmr maybe but sooner or later you may have to investigate the main problem or improve upon stock hop for dmr etc....
