  1. Why? what advantage does that offer? Every time you adjust your hop up you lose your zero, the Allen key is designed to be as solid and consistent as possible
  2. The MB06 (same as ASG Urban Sniper)b is the same internals as the l96 acording to ASPUK (original maruzen clones iirc), for £110 its a good choice. A TBB will cost £30, a bag of BBs £20. all in £160 with some change, strip it clean it and your good to go. It just doesn't look very pretty. Alternatively I like the JG BAR 10, but not shot one, so cant comment on anything other than feel and finish. If you are spending £130 on a cyma, personally I would find the extra £35 for a TM
  3. Airsoft is full of myths that are never well founded let alone proven. Bolt action rifles are no exception to this, I sometimes wander whether those spouting the "needz moar upgradez" line are those who have bought into the upgrade route and are simply trying to justify their own expense, and I know for a fact some are trying to put off new players from sniper roles in order to make themselves appear more l33t. With sniping there are lots of things that will cause you to have a bad day and bad accuracy, more so that with an AEG 1) if you cant shoot you cant snipe and if you have never shot accurately before you will not be a good sniper on day one. they are a different game to assault weapons, they are their own discipline and take a degree of marksmanship, patience and field craft. Stuff you don't learn on day 1 of skirmishing, (1a) it takes time and practice. 2) They are cheap and they are Chinese, they are not built pristinely, by those who love to build precision guns. They will be full of gunky grease, screws will not be tight and bits will be in wrong, Any new gun (even aegs) should be stripped cleaned re greased and tightened up again, clean and de grease the barrell, fix any air leaks with PTFE tape and give it a good once over. Again this level of tech experience doesn't come on day 1. See 1a 3) Your scope is more important than your gun, buy a cheap chinese one and its going to be poor, don't zero it properly at the range you want to be most effective at and its going to be poor. Most scopes sub £50 are going to be bad out of the box. look for branded scopes. Hawke would be my budget recommendation, SMK if you really are on a tight budget. AND FOR GOD SAKE CLAMP IT DOWN! 4) You need heavy BBs, .2 wont cut it, no one can tell you what is the best weight as its purely personal, but any lower than .3 is useless for ranged accuracy. see 1a Heavier bbs are more expensive but you wont eat through them anywhere near as fast as you do in an aeg. 5) Don't expect the world, you cant hit that 200m man hiding behind the log, its a BB gun, realise its limits. Learn to calculate range, I bet your perception of 60 meters is a lot different to my perception of 60 meters, amd we are probably both still way out. see 1a The majority of Snipers who give up fall foul to the majority of these rules, if you correct them all I can guarantee any cheap bolt action rifle will at least match an AEG in terms of accuracy and range, The hardest one to get right is Number 1, and the most important is 1a. I have used an MB06, (ASG Urban Sniper to be precise) and I was very impressed, they lad bought it new and it was his first day skirmishing it, the scope was the wrong way round, not clamped down and he was using bulldog .2 bbs. he hit nothing in the first 2 hours before having a hissy fit. We swapped guns, after I cleaned grease out of the barrel with bog roll, put the scope on properly and zerod it, and loaded up with .28 bastards, I was able to get some nice kills with it out to 50 (ish) meters on a small site. Its a good gun if you put in the effort. imho you cant spend £110 on an aeg and get the same performance.
  4. Can't decide between spending £90 on an elcan spectre or put towards a dedicated BAR?

get all my optics from them, delivery is usually cheap and they allow you to put down your own customs declaration.

  5. Its very difficult to advise somebody where and when to use walkie-talkies, its comes down to how you play and who you play with. One day you may be mid game and think "I need a radio yo" then you may not need to use it again for months. others may use it every time, its an entirely personal thing. I rarely use mine as I usually play fairly small sites, where a small team can communicate effectively without them, however when I played Free Fire Zone in Peterborough, that place is huge and being able to communicate with my own team (or the other team) would have been beneficial. its also worth noting that walkie-talkies don't create good communication, walkie-talkies are simply an extension tool. If you can't effectively communicate with a team in close ranges a walkie-talkie will just exaggerate that mis-communication. It sound obvious and a little patronising (not aimed at anyone personally) but as we have discussed elsewhere there is a lot of bad transitions and its very tedious to those who want to use a radio effectively to enhance the game. [Edit] It is all sounding a bit too serious and "train spotting" so from now I think we should refer to all comms as "walkie-talkies".
  6. Coffee and the tears of defeated noobs. So just Coffee really.
  7. CTCSS is overrated, unless you are playing in your own big team and want to keep your coms isolated to just you. And if you are in that scenario then it could be beneficial buying a licence for your own frequency. For normal skirmishes most people can't even land on the same simple channels. KISS principle.
  8. Starting to get a bit fed up of flipping gas mags now!

I have 4 GHK mags, each one has popped a leak at different times, in different places, they have mostly been solved by just tightening the cylinder heads down, but one stays airtight, but starts leaking after a few days.Tonight it has had all new o rings ptfe and a bloody good lube so should hold up for a while now.

myTM mag had a leak too, it dumped all the gas, filled it up to see where its coming from and its was perfect grr!

if you need to do a quick and dirty fix on a slow leaking mag, fill it up and chuck it in a bowl of hot (not boiling!) water.

  9. If you already have the 888s, I would stick to them, the uv5r is a good bit of kit but if you only want the PMR channels then you can simply pre program them into the memory. No hassle, no messing just 8 simple channels. It is too easy to inadvertently change the channel on the UV5r while its in your pocket, there is also a lot to break including the screen and button surrounds. The 888s is a bit more reliable and robust personally.
  10. You can't do that economically with hydro dipping, however you could approach a screen printer / vinyl maker to make a custom sticker sheet on "wrapping" vinyl ....... but it will probably look pants.
  11. Considering casualty has been running since 1863 on "prime time telly", they still manage to consistently muck up the most basic of factual references and continuity issues.
  12. Google "Science", once you can solve that, you will get glasses that never fog up. Until then, I have had satisfactory results with Cat Crap
  13. Anyone ever used or seen one? they have been out a while, yet there doesn't seem many reviews, especially on the longevity of the molle system, which frankly looks like it will fall to bits in a week. I like the look and the idea, and would go nicely with my De-militarised loadout style. Anyone any experience? Also anyone know where I can get plain black HSGI TACO pouches? Preferably repro?
  14. If its any consolation. I have a 50 round in my TM and its unbelievable horrible to shoot with, it throws the balance of the gun off and makes it incredibly unwieldy, it spends most of its life at home.
  15. Like this .... Nice simple design, has its flaws but is ultimately reliable ... I like it! I was expecting it to be like the GHK system where it sits under the feed lip and is a permanent fixture of the magazine. Thanks for that guys.
  16. Ah ok, so it just sits ontop of the follower? The picture make more sense now. Do I leave it in or do I have to take it out each time I don't want to dry fire?
  17. Whats this for? Two came in my TM Glock and I can't figure out why? My Kenji is a ltlle rusty but so far I can make out is: "you sirry engrishman I know your looking at this wandering why i do this and you no know! this just spare plastic to make you feel dumb! haha and you guys eat sushi! its raw fish! we play prank on you! no one here stupid enough to eat it! haha sirry engrishman!"
  18. does this make you sploosh? http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140707104507/callofduty/ru/images/a/a8/Ss_880a4ba931d69f1b7e260f0f923af2ec3504b919.1920x1080.jpg
  19. It's easier and neater to just buy a new outer barrel and sight post, should only be less than £30. Or Google Co-witnessing.
  20. Am I right in assuming that with an active braking mosfet the anti reversal lever could be removed altogether?
  21. Is anyone placing an order to Taiwangun? Fancy adding a few BBs and splitting the postage?

  22. Does a GAT gun count? You known the one with corks and the little darts, you had to mash it into the floor to cock it then load it ..... I loved that thing! Then dunblane happened and my mother removed all weapons but my action man guns.
  23. I think we need to look at this in a similar way to driving, in the way we have a reaction time or more accurately a reaction delay. The motor industry standard is 1.5 seconds to see an incident, process it and be physically ready to carry out an action, that's a conservative judgement, for some experienced players that will be significantly quicker. During the initial 1.5s reaction phase or "thinking time" you need to process that first off it's a person, establish their team or if they are a viable target and If you think you can hit them. Only once that is completed can you then raise the gun, take aim and shoot. Conservatively from hight ready it takes about 0.4 seconds to engage. So we are closing on 2 seconds from your first sight to the bb hitting the target. Now if you see them first, and they see you even 1 second after, you have the advantage, because they mentally and physically can't react quickly enough, yet you are both in the reaction time and neither of you have made the shot yet. In theory .... reaction times and action times are individual to you and can be improved with practice, although this is all done subconsciously. In my book It's not cheating, it's just basic human reactions. So long as both of you own up and admit the hits like adults.
  24. What did you find awful about the raider?
