  1. Looks a great site and £35 isn't that much to pay for a place like this. Need more sites like this in the UK.
  2. Almost half the price is eaten up by the CPU alone, personally unless I was doing a lot of number crunching I would opt for a cheaper CPU and go for a SSD main drive with a 2TB secondary. 16GB again is only needed if doing large workloads. No mention of motherboard or HD brand, guessing lower end (not a massive problem) but good to know what you're buying. Windows 8, less said about that the better :-)
  3. Yeah mate, generally the same grease works well. As with the Gears any good performing grease for mechanical parts is fine. Not quite sure what products like B&Q sell these days but I remember years ago buying a huge can of white lithium grease - was expensive but lasted ages. Some others may have a different idea as to what brand/product works best.
  4. Teeth generally are either steel/metal or nylon/plastic. You'll find the first tooth generally always metal since this tooth takes most of the strain when pulling back a piston. Full metal are generally a little more expensive but it all comes down to what type of gearbox your going for. Generally for a standard replacement a 1 tooth piston is fine like this one: http://www.ak2m4.co.uk/internal-parts/pistons-heads/shs-piston-1-tooth You'll definitely need some grease, you can pick up some from general DIY shops or I do sell some in small tubes http://www.ak2m4.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=grease Hope that helps a little....
  5. It will do mate, as long as you fit them properly of course. Plenty of videos out there to help along the way :-)
  6. Hey mate, Dover area here... Looks interesting, lot of competition in Kent at the moment but that's a good thing. Kent could do with an indoor CQB site for the winter :-) Have you got a Facebook page setup?
  7. It's not just UK youth :-) another story cropped up about 2 kids walking around HK with their Airsoft toys, chuckle.... http://www.popularairsoft.com/news/2-boys-airsoft-guns-public-area
  8. "It's going well so far! It amazes me so simple a gun is made up!" The calm before the storm :-)
  9. Got into it for a while - good game but you can end up sending a lot!. Just started watching another Airsoft player on youtube, his name is Plumb Tanker
  10. Del did you get something sorted? If not give me a bell have my old PC just sitting here looking for a good home.

    Any Help??

Lots of good motors out there, the SHS standard motors are pretty good and cheap, same with the ZCI motors (these are slightly cheaper). If you want to go for something a little more upmarket then Lonex do a good range. But before you start shelling out definately worth trying to find out what the actual problem is first. What spring is this pulling? Also have you tried inserting a long screwdriver into the nozzle and pushing to see if the actual piston goes all the way back? Just another thing you can do before you crack it open...

    Any Help??

What battery are you using Moose? Is it fully charged etc. I know sounds like a stupid question but it's the first thing to rule out. If there's not enough power the gears won't be able to pull the spring back.
  13. Nice one snake - if i was in your boat I'd do the same. Please make sure you let us know how it goes with the import, costs / times etc.
  14. Good summation by Longshot. I've had a lot of parts sent over from the US and some GBB Mac-10's (2 in one shipment) - no UKARA number, nothing and everything sailed through customs. Everyone has a different story though. How much is it to send a receiver from the US to UK these days? - I'm guessing around $20, is the courier USPS? After you've added up the cost of postage maybe you're only saving a few quid???
  15. if UKARA is difficult to obtain then perhaps look into what sites offer their own membership scheme..
  16. Blimey not been to Shadow Opz since the heady days of Richborough power station and then their old place in Sturry, are they still up at the old paintball venue up Elms Vale Dover?
  17. Dover / Folkestone chap here. Lots of airsoft sites in Kent at the moment - bit different from the old days of CAGE in Chatham :-) however needs a decent CQB venue for the Winter. I did recently try contacting a potential venue but phone was disconnected.....
  18. May pop in on the way home from work tomorrow afternoon - but not till 3/4pm. Does anyone know if they do half day tickets? I don't remember seeing them last year..
  19. Definitely takes 4 batteries, 2 on each side - they are a pain to put in. I ended up taping two together to make it easier. All the one's I've had or sold have been very bright...
  20. Heard this on Radio 2 last week whilst driving home..made me want to book a fortnight 'vacation' in Florida, drive around in a convertible whilst wearing a suit without a shirt and shoes without socks. Instead I just dug out my old Jan Hammer CD...
  21. Sorry i stand corrected by the chap above...purchasing.
  22. Remember UKARA is just one of many different forms of defense. It's not the holy grail of RIF ownership!
  23. I remember around 1984 Thatcher decided every school should have a computer so our primary school got a Links Machine??? I think it was called..... No one actually used it for programming apart from one of the teachers who made a pirate game that everyone in the whole school would queue up in line to play haha
  24. I've had a few of the ACOG fibre's in stock in the past, they are really neat in regards to not needing any batteries, there's nothing to maintain, just work out of the box. I used a 4x for a while but found it a pain, would rather have a 1x but it's all down to the type of style you play. Build quality is pretty decent for a clone (well the ones I've had in), some come with trades some don't, made by loads of difference factories all over the place I would guess. £99 is a tad high yes. Hope that helps a little.
  25. Anyone ever play that FPS shooter Call of Juarez? The game where two teams tried to plant and defuse dynamite. Was full of bugs and oddities but on a LAN this was one of the best multiplayer games around.
