  1. I forgot all about BAC - really good idea shame it never gained much traction (or did it?).
  2. Springs are either regular (consistent coil spacing) or irregular (coil space varies). There's often some debate on which design is better. The Duck will have some scientific data on this :-) Then you've got material - generally the higher end springs (the ones I sell anyway) are made from Japanese steel coated with a black anti-rust / hardening compound. Again so many different manufacturers out there. Some clever chap did a really good spring comparison chart - I won't bore you with it though, if interested you'll find it :-) Hope that helps a little
  3. Ahh player self-check http://www.loissoftware.co.uk/ukara/selfcheck/index.asp didn't notice that before...
  4. Wow 385 I just got in a large shipment springs so If you want a couple for £10 or single for £6 let me know and I'll get one out to you.
  5. Yeah I've done this in the past and it's been fine. Would be nice to have a system where you as a registered user can send out authorised details, https URL or something, proving you have a valid defence.
  6. Hi Tom. FPS is always a tricky beast as it depends on the general gearbox compression. Does the Sterling use a V3 gearbox? What's it currently shooting at? Do you know what rating the spring is in currently? As a starter a M100 or M110 should get you to around that mark. You can also cut off a coil off the existing spring although does deform the end slightly
  7. mmmmmm lime green - back in the 70's my nan had a bathroom that colour Here's the metal receiver with all the bits added. Seller is based in HK http://www.amazon.co.uk/Marking-wargame-airsoft-hunting-shooting/dp/B01CTW7VTE/ref=sr_1_5?s=sports&ie=UTF8&qid=1458925560&sr=1-5&keywords=aegcartasiacom Still not sure where the stock tube mount went :-) Think the photoshop dude got a little excited and chopped it.
  8. Bush Valley looks pretty neat, will definitely try and get there this year. I see they have invested in an Objective Box, do they use it much? I'm a big fan of Rush myself (not the 70's progressive rock band)
  9. Hope to get to the Sandpit myself later this year. The number of active sites seems to grow each year, bit different to when I first started playing in 2004, there was just Fort Amhurst, anyone remember this chokepoint? Always some bastard with a M249 at one end...
  10. I always wondered why the rest of the Bluewater site was never fully developed commercially - maybe the god of airsoft looking down :-)
  11. List best to my knowledge... Darkwater - Ashford Battle Lakes - Tunbridge Wells BIA - Eastry ShadowOpz - Dover Cool Under Fire - Faversham Quex Park - Ramsgate Apocalypse - Maidstone UCAP - Dartford Bush Valley Airsoft - Maidstone Ace Combat - Tonbridge
  12. Welcome to the forums Sam, it's a friendly place :-)
  13. FPS depends not just on your spring but also on how good your level of compression is. If you want to save some money you can try cutting a couple of the coils off or just buy a M90 or M100.
  14. @two_zero - Good grief comrade :-)

    Motors....

I'm out of these at the moment. There's lots of motor information on the web, I've not tested these myself personally but from what I've been told SHS HT are 16TPA whilst the ZCI HT are 22TPA and the ZCI High Speed is 16TPA. You'll find various manufacturers use different names to rate their motors - Ultra Torque, Balanced, High Speed etc. I've got a SHS motor order on the way, I'll be selling the SHS motors at the same prices as the ZCI's, with P+P they will work out around £2 more than what you can buy them on Ebay from HK.
  16. Hey Darren, I'm just outside Dover, where did you play 10 years ago? Firefight / Cage ? There's a site over at Quex, not been myself but close to you. I like the look of the improvements they've made at Apoc, will try to get myself there this year. Pete
  17. Guessing this is on eBay. They use the term m-series instead of m4 / m16 as eBay has a policy against using firearm names in listings. Crazy huh...
  18. "Enter UKARA Licence Number" ............. Genius :-)
  19. USD? Are you in the US? Or will you need to get it shipped to the UK?
  20. Excellent point MMN. So many rumours and misinformation were spread during 2007 / 2008 that it just caused confusion - e.g. "UKARA license", even now almost 10 years on! Personally I would have preferred a system where if you wanted to play airsoft you joined a local site, gained membership etc. Easy in hindsight and all in the past now...... sigh
  21. I have a sample of this rail sent to me a while back, although it comes without the barrel nut and front plate if I remember rightly. I'll dig it out and let you know a price if you're interested? It's a 7 inch btw. Generally though these 2-piece rails can be a pain which is why a lot of people go for free-float rails.
  22. Hey Simon, the gearboxes are pretty nice however they are not for every build because they won't fit in standard upper receivers without some modding unfortunately. They are around 5mm longer than standard V2 gearbox shells, similar to what ARES use. Personally I prefer the old style trigger system but with the quick release spring guide that are the same dimensions of the standard V2 shell - I'm starting to see more and more of these hit the market. (similar to the one in the pic below).
