  1. Been around for a few years, supposed to represent it's members legally etc, push for reform I think. Facebook site has recent news. They are asking to be funded by membership fees it seems which is always going to be a stumbling block for any alternative system. Personally I would want to see any future system controlled by an independent body, not for profit, run by players / sites. Free membership. Not quite sure how feasible this would be (that's just my own view)...
  2. Sounds about right, any further then you move into lob shot territory and then may as well be playing a game of Worms :-)
  3. Ranges vary, sure someone will have some proper stats to give you. You're still limited to in-game FPS of 350 for AEG's and 500 for bolt snipers. There's been some some small developments in hop design over the years and you can now buy excellent quality steel tight bore barrels for peanuts.
  4. That's the one. Nice alternative solution on the face of it, I like the fact that it's player driven but may be difficult to gain real traction due to the £6.99 a year fee for players. Also missing a few of the "other" retailers due to their vested interest in the UKARA. Maybe a tiered pricing model would be better, basic membership free.
  5. Sorry to drag this up but wasn't there a push last year by another group similar to UKARA but player focused who were developing a system whereby player details / number of skirmishes could be registered by different sites, held on a central database - can't remember their name now.
  6. Jon who runs Darkwater airsoft is a top bloke, check out his Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/DarkwaterairsoftHythe/
  7. As duck says use it and enjoy it for now. When you feel like dipping your toe get yourself some second-hand parts and build yourself a custom "backup" M4 that you can tweak to your hearts content.
  8. UKARA isn't a requirement for customs. I've received dozens of AEG's since 2007 without UKARA, you do need a valid defense though.
  9. As with most ARES AEG's they use the Quick-change spring system so really easy to change the spring yourself if needed.
  10. haha. I was in the same boat, I've got an old X3200 clone in fact that has done me proud for 3 years now. As soon as the X3500 came out I knew I had to have one :-) The larger firing tube is worth it alone for all those people out there who can't shoot straight haha.
  11. PM me skippy and I'll sort you out with some parts and a forum discount :-)
  12. Hi Andy, no experience myself but there's a Facebook group dedicated to Bolt users I believe.

    UAR

Sorry to say a normal QD spring guide won't work without a bit of modification as it's lugs are too big for the APS shell. I tested it on my version V2 shell, imagine a V3 is the same. The APS is a far better design but parts seem limited here in the UK. You can order the part from APS directly pretty cheaply but imagine it will take more than a few days to arrive. :-(

    UAR

Very surprised to see that UAR in that condition as spoke to the APS rep the other day and he was saying how much they improved the internals. How many BB's had been through it? Really like them myself. I should have a replacement spring guide in stock, pretty sure it's the same as most of the other QD gearboxes on the market. I can even check for you as I've got a whole bunch of samples in from APS, no V3 gearboxes but their V2 gearboxes uses the same system. On the whole I'm pretty impressed with APS - hopefully going to be stocking their M4 parts soon
  15. Ask the shop if you can use another form of defense such as getting the owner of the site where you now play to email the store owner.
  16. Personally it's something else I'd rather not have hanging off my AEG, the best thing I've seen a PEQ used for is a case for a gun camera.
  17. Really like the look of these, only 76g in weight and each bang only 8.5p.
  18. Not tried this but its new,has a LCD timer and looks pretty cool... https://www.facebook.com/molyneux.systems

    Bolt

I've heard mostly good things from Bolt, I remember seeing there's a dedicated Facebook group
  20. Thanks for the link, some nice MDF work going on, looks like they are putting in a lot of effort.
  21. I believe....don't quote me on this, that the gearbox is designed for quick spring change, however the trigger switch is the standard V2 and not the micro switch version. I haven't seen any other design that mixes the two so far. Quite a nice use of both mechanisms.
  22. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Krytac owned and produced by the real steal Swiss company Kriss Arms? Parts produced out in TW but put together in the US, sure I read that somewhere... Really like what they've done.
  23. I think you've been watching a little too much Airplane...... What a pisser! Ahh who am I kidding you can never have too much Airplane :-)
  24. I did send a message to the policy guys this morning stating that a Hop Up Chamber does not constitute a BB / Airsoft gun or frame or receiver. We'll see what they come back with if anything at all. I've been down this road before, spent 2 hours on the phone - it's just gets tedious.
