I think I am destined to burn in hell. I just committed the ultimate sin. MY SMLE scope mount arrived and to test it I attached my ACOG to my SMLE! I feel dirty.

managed to find a suitable washer and add extra tension to Matildas firing pin spring. No more misfires and significant improvement in power

Seen those already. They're on about the Lee Enfield No. 4, I have the No.1 mk3. There is a hopeful looking groove and screw on the left hand side. I do wonder if I could get some metal bar the right size and screw it into the groove, then bolt the bar to an M14 type mount with some countersunk machine screws. Matilda's first test outdoors and she let me down I think in the heat the gas pressure was higher and the hammer was unable to depress the gas release reliably. It looks possible to increase the spring tension on the firing pin though, which should solve this and make her more powerful.
