  1. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00DIXI2AG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have one of these, very good for the money. Only gripe is the webbing strap belt is a bit short. Do not fear webbing. Webbing is your friend Tacticool vests, plate carriers etc. are more customisable but webbing can be customised a fair bit too. The difference is that webbing doesn't get as hot when you run around. I have a molle tactical vest, I much prefer webbing. Once you have it adjusted to fit you, it's much more comfortable. That said, a battle belt and Yoke is webbing, you have been tricked! Muahaha etc.
  2. The absolute cheapest option is P58 webbing (think Falklands era) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Full-set-British-Army-issue-58-pattern-webbing-/251613814679?pt=UK_Collectables_Militaria_LE&hash=item3a955a1f97 usually a tenner will get you a full set and you can then customise to your needs. I presume that if you wanted to change the colour then Blanco would work? http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/SearchResults.aspx?s=blanco&cat=0
  3. Bristol, so almost Originally from N Somerset though.
  4. Pocket. Only officers and machine gun crews are supposed to have pistols so it stays hidden, unless I need it. Fortunately I have massive pockets on all my uniforms
  5. Preparing to meet up with some WW2 re-enactors tomorrow. Webbing all blanco'd and Brasso'd, boots all polished (as much as they can be). I managed to find Tan Parade gloss polish, the boots look battered but shiney.

  6. If customs decides to charge you tax and/or duty the courier will pay it and charge you a fee for doing it. They will then send you a bill for this amount and deliver it when the bill is paid.
  7. Who cares whether he made it himself? If he has lots of questions then this is a good idea. Customs wise, it can be as little as a few hours, or it could be a long wait. You then have to wait for the courier to send you a bill for any fees, duty and tax. Then they will deliver once that is paid.
  8. Collapsible stock works very well for CQB as you can shorten the stock and pull everything in close to the body. The Wide forearm is very easy to fit batteries into. If you switch to the lighted forearm (built in torch) you are restricted to an 8.4V NiMh but you could switch to a LiPo. Saw a guy the other day with a Franken-MP5 with collapsible stock and railed forearm. He had a PEQ box for his battery and a torch attached to the rails. His face when I pointed out that for £19 you can get the lighted forearm and not have all the junk attached to the gun...
  9. From Spartan Airsoft's rules: Any player under the age of 16 MUST wear a full face mask. Minimum age is 12 but must be accompanied by parent or guardian if under 16. From Black ops cribbs and Portishead Rules: Any player under the age of 18 MUST wear a full face mask. Minimum age is 12 but must be accompanied by parent or guardian if under 18. The problem is that the site owners want under 16's supervised. Do you have an Uncle? Uncles are great for things like this that your Mum disapproves of I should know, I have Nieces and a Nephew and would happily help them do anything their Mum disapproves of
  10. Soldier of Fortune order arrived, spent the evening re-blancoing my webbing in Aussie Khaki instead of Late war Green. I also promoted myself to Corporal as I also ordered some stripes :)

Might get pictures on Sunday, I'm going to meet up with some re-enactors at Lacock at War. Annoyingly you can only buy stripes in pairs and the Aussies only wore them on the right arm.

  11. Okay, first thing, you do not want any gun that costs under £80, it will break and will not be capable of hitting anyone at a decent range. Secondly, as you are under 16, most sites will require an adult to play with you. This means you pretty much have to persuade a parent or other family member to take up airsoft. You may as well therefore wait for that adult to get UKARA registered (2 months from the 1st game with 3 games played at the same site) and then get them to buy you a non 2 toned gun. Ignore the sidearm, no-one needs a sidearm and put all the money into a decent main weapon. If you really want a ww2 weapon, then when a parent has sorted out UKARA it will be possible to import one from Poland without any issues. http://www.taiwangun.com/en/agm-058?from=listing&campaign-id=19 Otherwise look at something like a G&G combat machine. The difference between the 2 is vast. The G&G combat machines are very good beginners guns, they are well made and shoot well. They are made of good quality plastic that can take a lot of punishment and the internals are good quality. They are modern guns so you can add sights and other accessories easily. The ASG sten (AGM if bought outside the UK) is not really a beginners gun, it has no fire selector or safety, so you have to not pull the trigger by accident. It is made of steel so if you drop it, it will break your toes not the gun and it shoots really well (they are so good the German players complain about them being too good). You are stuck with just ironsights and because they are full auto only you cannot use them indoors (there is a way around this by using a burstwizard mosfet, which is a tiny circuit board you plug in between the battery and the gun).
  12. It's a tough and expensive look to achieve. smock: http://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/belgian-m56-congo-smock-used/3339 Battledress: http://www.whatpriceglory.com/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=172&cat=UNIFORMS Other bits: http://www.epicmilitaria.com/section.php/27/1/wwii-british-equipment-kit http://www.sofmilitary.co.uk/shop-re-enactment-british-ww2-british-airborne-category,979 and ebay of course.
  13. Something about your Avatar and the PM about WW2 guns told me that the WW2 para loadout might interest you
  14. Judging by your posts, avatar and PM's I think this is what you're after: ASG Sten Mk2, Belgian Denison smock, Denim battledress, P37 webbing and anklets... My Favourite though is my Aussie gear, similar but with this jacket and hat plus a gas mask bag, tan boots and using my SMLE OR The hat with green shirt, US HBT trousers, M1938 lace up gaiters, P37 webbing, SMLE or Sten for a late war jungle look.
  15. Best bet is to get your Dad interested (although you might manage your mum too). Try a few games with hire guns. Your parents can buy the guns and as you are under 16 a lot of sites will require them to be with you anyway. To get non-2toned guns one of your parents will need to sort out UKARA registration, which you may as well do if they have to play with you anyway.
  16. Most sites are happy if you have an accompanying adult. I have seen some young players at Spartan airsoft, which is up near Bristol Airport. Bristol Airsoft does under 18's games on a Friday evening.
  17. Evike are good. Only worth the hassle buying from them if you can't get something from anywhere outside the US. It's just so much hassle with customs charges etc.
  18. In CQB, its a really good way to get shot in the hand a lot.
  19. It may well be that they put that rule in there just to help the marshalls out when dealing with guys moaning about someone not taking hits. It allows then to use discretion to decide that person is dead or not, without having to accuse anyone of failing to take hits. It may actually be a sensible rule if the marshalls use it the right way. It also allows them to deal with those fat blokes who always stay out of range and shout at everyone to move up
  20. Well then they need to add cover to the doorway. If that's how they enforce the rule, they need to design the site in such a way that it is workable.
  21. went for this: http://www.taiwangun.com/en/scope-3-9x32e-with-high-mounting-rings-acm?from=listing&campaign-id=19 With a pair of low mounts.
  22. "Always wear a helmet when shooting Black Death in a location with low ceilings" "Black Death auditions for The Lion King"
  23. No shooting on stairs is sensible. getting shot on the top of the head is unpleasant and there's the risk of trips and falls to consider. The Courthouse in Bristol has something similar but it's 'try to avoid shooting down at people on the stairs'.
  24. There could easily be a whole series of Black Death memes based on this
  25. You tend to meet the best sort of players in WW2 games. Last game I went to, our squad was trying to keep the right flank of the other British squad safe and they were taking fire from their left flank (where the Americans should have been). We therefore swung round to outflank the Germans on the right. A head pops out of a bush right by us and asks us very politely if we wouldn't mind not trying to outflank them as the German side had a few people drop out due to illness and gun malfunctions. a ). He could have taken us all out as we hadn't seen him. b ). In what other type of airsoft game would such a request be considered c ). Why can't the Americans stick to the plan?
