  1. Sorry, just did a bit of research, seems it should be fine! I'm an Nvidia man so I'm not terribly up to date on Radeon GPU specs. Give it a go and see how it does. There's a lot of fancy visual effects in ArmA if I remember correctly (it's been a while since I played it) that can be turned off to help out the GPU (things like motion blur and bloom which don't actually look very realistic anyway).
  2. It should work but the graphics card might be a bit low spec. If you don't try and run it on the ultra high settings it should be do-able though. ArmA was developed by the guys that wrote Flashpoint originally as part of Bohemia Interactive. When the developers and the publishers split a few years back the publishers continued to make games under "Operation Flashpoint" (Dragon Rising and Red River to be precise) and the developers went on to do ArmA. To use an appropriate set of comparisons ArmA is Milsim, OpFlash is an objective based skirmish, Battlefield would be your average Sunday skirmish and CoD is paintball. If you've played the ORIGINAL Flashpoint games then the almost vertical learning curve for ArmA will be somewhat familiar!
  3. Operation Flashpoint (and all it's offspring of which ArmA is but one).
  4. It's in the name of the thread, dude....
  5. ABS pistols will suffer less from cooldown than a metal pistol plus being lighter it should have better gas efficiency in general. That's pretty much why people like Tokyo Marui pistols (even though they are about 50% more expensive to buy). As for the drop leg holster it sounds like you don't have it adjusted properly. Do you have any pictures of you wearing it? Glad you had a good time though!
  6. I think the point he was making is that most airsoft sites limit the FPS of AEGs to around 350. Unless you plan on locking it to semi-auto only and using it as a DMR.
  7. I think we ought to be questioning whether or not we need to "hate" anything like this. I for one am not going to be one of those sad gits sat in the corner with my arms folded and a face like a bulldog licking piss off a nettle complaining about how "CoD kids are ruining it for everyone". Get a grip FFS, we're running about playing at being soldiers. Have a bit of perspective.
  8. There's this: http://www.socomtactical.net/airsoft-accessories/rails-and-mounts/dboys-td-battle-grip-3pc-set.html which is MUCH cheaper if you import it. I have one on my SCAR and it works well. My M4 has a CAA style mag grip and the flashlight switch is taped to it with black electrical tape. The problem I find with velcro is that the bit that attaches to the rubber switch doesn't stay put for long.
  9. Pretty much ANYTHING by Amon Amarth makes me want to damage things. Neon Knights or Mob Rules by Black Sabbath For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica Slayer.....pretty much any of it but Reign in Blood nicely fits the length of time it takes to drive from my house to The Malls, so...
  10. Any chance of being a bit more specific?
  11. One thing to add, if you decide to buy Sorbo sheet and do it yourself you should look for 70D hardness. There's lots of 40D or 50D out there designed for vibration damping but it's too soft for our needs. Also worth mentioning is that many aftermarket cylinder heads come with a rubber pad attached. The cheaper OEM heads can have nothing at all which is where the cheap and cheerful solutions are definitely literally better than nothing!
  12. Yes, there is a way. If I can find it I'll link you the place I got mine but basically the bit that surrounds the very end of the barrel unscrews (you may well need some pliers to get it out) usually on a 14mm CW thread. Then youneed a +14mm to -14mm threaded adaptor that screws in and then leaves the -14mm threaded bit sticking out for you to attach suppressors/tracers etc. One of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SD-14mm-Barrel-Adapter-for-Marui-MP5K-PDW-CW-to-CCW-14mm-to-14mm-/271669997316 also available from Redwolf, Patrolbase and many others.
  13. Aaaaanyway, all this pedantry is getting in the way of actually answering the OPs question now. Shall we call it quits?
  14. Your qualifications are only ever going to get you your first job. After that it's all about what experience you've gained.
  15. A lot of people see SMG and PDW as pretty much interchangeable though...
  16. Thing is that there's a lot of people that DO need to have the whole thing explained properly. A little learning never hurts does it? Prime example is that most of the PDWs available as airsoft replicas have already been mentioned here (MP7, MP9, P90 etc).
  17. I direct you, sir to my current status.
  18. Technically, no pdw fires pistol ammo. Except in cases like the FN5-7 where a pistol has been designed specifically to fire the same ammo as its pdw relation (in this case of course the P90). The whole point of the pdw was to make a weapon with more stopping power than an smg but smaller than an assault rifle.
  19. But several of the guns mentioned already ARE classed as PDWs...
  20. I'm going to go ahead and apologise in advance, I'm feeling particularly pedantic tonight. Don't take it personally. Any of you. :)

What is the most really annoying thing about you is the fact that very often you are right though

  21. I assume you mean a KAC PDW? Not just any old PDW? PDW being a class of weapon not a specific gun of course....
  22. Lots of people make the mistake of thinking their gun needs upgrades when actually they need to learn how to shoot.
  23. That "clicky adjuster" makes it far more comfortable. Sometimes it really is worth paying a bit extra. FMA for my money.
