  1. Pyros are illegal for use on Most Irish airsoft sites are they not? Sites can get permits and the marshals need some sort of small handling/safety course thing but these permits are hard to get, especially in the North and the North-South Border. Do Lisburn have a permit for pyrotechnics to be used?
  2. JG Blues are epic motors. absolute torque monsters. If you are running 13:1 or 12:1 gears, a mosfet and a high discharge lipo(30c or more) you are going to have a PTW killer right there.
  3. The problem with the shoot and scoot enfield is that It,for some stupid reason is based on the JG/ASG Zastava M70 which is an off spec VSR hybrid thing. Of all the base rifles to choose...If they could not have access to a JG BAR 10 fair enough, the TM Pro would be too expensive too. But at least maybe a WELL MB03? It's a POS but It's more or less VSR compatible.
  4. You can Fashion a BAR-10 Chassis into an old no.4 stock. Requires a fair amount of woodwork but nothing too daunting, and the outer barre for the Visser needs to be cut. There's a nice build thread on this blog http://crapworks.blogspot.ie/2013/04/converting-airsoft-vsr-to-lee-enfield.html

I don't like how they have the same weapon artwork no matter which model you choose.

  6. silhouetted a G36C and a Lasrifle- It's far from it but pretty close. What I've added is essentially a big chunk of plastic that covers the magwell and the handuard,It can be pinned via the handguard pin and the pin for the magwell. The barrel can be easily milled out of aluminium or cut out of PVC with a dremel. Personally I think Jcheese's suggestion of simply building a new body and just recycling G36 parts is the best option. The G36 does not look grimdark enough to be a lasrifle.
  7. Without permanent modification or a whole new body It's impossible. You can however recycle as many G36 parts as possible. I'd go for a simpler Kantrael MG Short,Since It's a very simple shape. Use the G36 mag as a 'long type' battery in it or something. Parts from the G36 I'd use-the stock, magazine, mag well and internals. Otherwise I'd make a body mold out of wood and send it to a company which does consumer plastic casting. The G36 is simply too different to any Lasgun patterns to be used and look accurate

  9. Speaking of that Ian I should have that translation finished tomorrow. it's actually more grammar correction since most technical words have been translated correctly,I'm just making it readable. Anyhoo, another loadout I'm planning and saving for is Ukrainian Recon,as is my current one but in some juicy flecktarn-I'm also wanting to get a SRC or JG G36C and tune it up to go with this, however all the funds I save keep ending up in the form of VSR 10 parts It's the bloke on the left-The one on the right is roughly my current inspiration but instead of what looks like a recolored CIRAS I'm running ALICE gear
  10. Blaster .30gs. Very consistant BBs. I am a bit concerned for some visible mold lines but according to a micrometer they are very consistant,Most around 5.95-5.98mm range, which, although not as good as Devil .28s which I've averaged at round 5.95-5.96 is decent enough. Not a single air bubble to be seen and the casting looks very good. I'm making very tight groupings at 35m,about 14x15cm,hitting a man size target easily at 50m and able to git a cherry tomato at 15m. Note, this is after washing them thoroughly. When comparing washed to unwashed they feel noticeably more greasy, and reek of mold release agent. Recommend washing them. Blaster Devil .28s are not as greasy and do not reek as badly. Pretty okay price at 17 euro a bottle.
  11. Take out the hop up chamber and look down the barrel- If there is a Hop up mound protruding then there might be something wrong with the adjustment mechanism- some G&G CMs did have problems with the hop up just jamming on certain levels though I've only seen it in a few friend's guns.
  12. Stitch me up makes some great quality patches-Not a team patch but some more of her great work,It's a patch given to attendees of BPA's OP Falcon Fury 27hr milsim. Very nice craftsmanship and quality.
  13. It's a slippery enough slope XD Mosfet protects the trigger contacts and basically makes electricity flow more efficient. It's crucial to running higher power batteries. Low resistance wiring helps current and voltage travel around better, meaning all the power gets to the motor quickly and efficiently, which improves ROF and trigger response. Deans connectors are again, more efficient type of connection compared to the tamiya type. gearbox tuning-A lot of chinese AEGs come with very strong and good quality internals but are not very well assembled, most notably using snot and dried strawberry jam as grease. Shimming is placing precision cut washers(AKA shims) on gear axles to make sure they mesh perfectly. AOE(Angle of engagement) is the angle at which the gear that pulls back the piston(Sector gear) engages the sector. AOE correction involves placing shock absorption pads on the cylinder head to move the piston back so it is engaged at 90 degrees by the sector gear so It won't be at so much stress. A plus of AOE correction is that it also makes your gun quieter as you have shock absorption pads about which will also reduce stress on the shell. Since Patrol base is your local I'd speak to RockClimbeyDave more about this. All this stuff is fairly low cost(Mosfet and the wiring being more expensive,Deans,Shim packets, and sorbopads cost around a fiver each or so depending where you buy) Modern airsoft guns, especially chinese ones and JG in particular rarely need anything replaced. Only thing I'd really replace on your gearbox is the plastic gear bushings with nice quality metal ones(Again,a very cheap upgrade)
  14. Stupid High torque motor, like a Chaoli 22TPA or a JG blue motor. Some JG g36s already have the neodymium stupid torque motors which are really efficient and give great response, but it's a rarity. If you can,try find a Chaoli 22TPA motor or something like that. If you do get(Or already have) the super high torque motor,I'd rewire to low resistance wiring,Deans connectors,Wire a mosfet and then run powerful high discharge batteries, but first you might need some Gearbox tuning.Did you have any gearbox work done to it,like Pinion-Bevel reshiom,AOE correction, regrease and all that stuff?
  15. From what I've read on the interwebs and Red Alliance-Looks and feels nice, performance is not bad, accuracy is skirmishable however gas efficiency is very bad, more a show piece or plinker according to some people However I guess it's better to have firsthand info instead of regurgitating it from other sources I would not have high hopes for good gas efficiency.Heavy zamak slide+ tiny mag reservoir does not an efficient gun make. You can always hope it can make up for it purely by presence and good accuracy.
  16. Easter free shipping on Xfire? Nice nice nice. Cheers for the heads up. Defiantly going to stock up some W holds and other VSR parts, I might actually have some money left over from a gun job and the remains of the hicapa fund to pay the stuff. Free shipping is always nice. I like Xfire's ordering system, makes sure everything is double double checked so you can get it. Their customer service is pretty good too. They just need to hire a proper English speaker though, however the Nipponish is readable enough albeit hilarious.
  17. That's kind of the reason I'm giving up on 'top money' guns, you're paying for a brand name and externals essentially. Internal wise most 'top tier' guns are pretty poor compared to some 'cheap' brands, the only difference is that the high end guns are assembled well internally, while materials and part quality are often shit compared to the cheap ones. I'd prefer just to get a cheap gun and give it a light tune up,or buy a cheap ACM gearbox, tune that up,buy a used higher end gun body that's been beat to shit and drop the tuned GB in. Airsoft guns are like the Japanese tuner cars-Yes,some work well with no mods at all,but most need some work to be reliable.
  18. This bloke in Hong Kong made an interesting GBB-HPA conversion to a WE SCAR:

Tbh I wish he'd release a kit for gas sniper rifles so I won't have to fiddle around with my only long mag...of which cost £40-£60 new...

Maybe in the near future he might release some sort of rough guide on how to make it. It does not look to complicated, however routing the air like past the trigger mech is tricky and getting the chopped up gas release assy to feed BBs from midcaps properly is tricky too. There are a fair few videos on how to convert your GBBR to use AEG mags by chopping up the gas release assembly and using brass tubing as a feed tube and adapter if you will.

  19. Replace Rye Bread with Lavash, and the sausages should better be beef or something. Good luck getting Lavash in the UK though. I've yet to see it anywhere outside of east europe personally.. The other stuff,That's just my usual 'ration' I bring along camping or to 27hr games.

  21. G&G rifles did used to have a problem with the cutoff lever sticking and leaving the gun firing, but that was apparently 'solved'-Maybe through some sort of manufacturing defect,it reared it's ugly head again? G&G mosfets, according to some people are made to only 'work' on 25c lipos max and apparently burn out at anything larger(Which means it's a joke of a mosfet then) Maybe if shat itself after higher discharge was used?
  22. For food on 27hr games I prefer an old fashioned Ukrainian method- Get some thin Myslivska sausages, throw them on a plate, douse them lightly with horilka(aka vodka to you western pigs) and spark it up with either some flint or a lighter-wait a few minutes and you have some nice fried sausages. If you have a metal tripod or something you can keep the fire going and maybe heat up something else you like. I use an old steel plate so after I take the sausages I quickly throw in some dried wood and brew up some tea. Serve with Rye bread, butter and Preserved vegetable salad from a can or some saurkraut even. I sometimes bring along some premade buckwheat porridge that I fire in a can before the game too. I might heat it up like the tea. For sweets, nature valley bars, some fruit and those Ukrainian made 'Milk chews' you find in a lot of newsagents-Addictive as fuck they are. feast of champions there m8.
  23. CBA really-too expensive,My average income is pocket money and the occasional tenner for tuning a mate's gun from time to time,I also ran out of things to sell. Takes me ages to save up for small things now. I spent the money I got from selling an old Honda 50cc motorbike+some engine parts on the CYMA AK project which I then sold via my brother at a minor profit. The TM stock on the Gspec is nice enough quality and I don't care that much about looks when I actually think about usage. Besides,in Ireland, there are no real manufacturing companies for things like ABS casting,'ts all moved to China now.
  24. SV98 style Stock for my VSR 10 Gspec, based on the lighter early version stock, slightly slimmed down at the front too to save weight. I Was going to made it out of 3 glued planks of White Deal,I even planned to cut up a G3 steel hicap to either use as a dummy or some sneaky ammo storage, but I decided against the ammo store idea. Could have used the CNC wood router we have in school but unfortunately I had a Junior cert exam project to make. Had the drawing, measurements and all that craic done on some A2 paper which I promptly forgot about and lost. After using my VSR for some more games, and using the stock as a walking stick and a handlebar to stop me falling into a lake,I decided to stock was strong enough already and I did not need extra weight to lug about.
  25. Looks like an old custom CounterStrike map to me Looks cool though, must be fun for a little closer combat.
