The barrel nut just unscrews. It's only difficult if it's on there really tight! You might need to use a rubber boa wrench or an armourers tool to get it off.

As long as you buy a G&P barrel nut as Mack says, or a free float rail that will fit a G&P M4 then you're pretty much good to go. The only other thing you'll find is that a non-ICS barrel nut will not fit over the tabs on the ICS outer barrel. You will need to remove them - you'll see why when you try and slide the nut over them ;-) It takes about 30 seconds with a hack saw to cut them off. I've uploaded a pic below. Bear in mind that once you've done this, your old handguards won't fit as securely anymore as those tabs are used to help steady it.

ICS M4 hop ups are proprietry so unless your capable of modding another hop up to fit then I wouldnt bother, on the plus side ICS M4 hops a generally very good. Give the barrel a good clean and perhaps change the hop up rubber. You can use non ICS Rails if you change the barrel nut to a G&P.

Personally, to try and reply as directly as possible to the OP, yeah I'm more interested in gear. Overall, I'd rather own firearms and maybe 1-2 airsoft replicas just to play the game occasionally, but I can't have the guns I want in this country so I just stick to BBs and what I get to play with in work.

However even if I can't personally own the guns I want, I can own gear that's 'on a par' as it were with the sort of guns I'd shoot if I could. I like to collect gear, I'm interested in the way it's made, the work that goes in to designing and manufacturing it, the whole industry that surrounds it, the similarities and differences between various sporting/defence applications for civilians, general outdoor use and military applications of all kinds of different apparel, load-bearing rigs, pouches etc. So I buy a fair bit of kit in order to actually look at it closely, then every now and then play airsoft in it in order to see how it performs on a very basic level (wicking sweat, friction points, retaining mags, pistol draw etc etc).

I've long been aware that playing in a half-arsed fashion would be detrimental to the other folks on my team, but personally I can't do things by halves anyway so it's never a problem. I either go to a skirmish or milsim and go for it with 100% effort, or I just stay at home. I'm not a good player, I always get hit more than I score hits, but I do enjoy the sounds of GBBs shooting, pyro going off and the like and it's a great social activity all around. Myself, I can't say I've ever seen bunches of guys dressed to the 9s in kit stood around the regen point mouthing off instead of getting stuck in; the people I've seen doing that have covered every 'type' of player there is. Fact is, unless you're a lottery winner/retired on a massive pension and all you do is travel up and down the entire UK playing game after game multiple times per week on a constant basis, you simply can't claim there to be any set trends amongst what certain 'types' of players do (or don't do as the case may be).

Alas, I'm a Small in every other brand of combat shirt, just not Crye. So I'll have to sell the buggers right off the bat, which is a PITA frankly after waiting bloody ages for them to get here. #firstworldairsoftproblems

No doubt KOA are good but I had mine done by Aod over on Arnies forum. Fitted specter fet, SHS High torque motor, Tempered pinion gear, fitted SHS gearset, reshimmed, corrected AOE and wired to deans for £41 posted to N.Ireland, and an excellent job he made of it too.

A simple search is found in the top right of the page, below your user control panel. An advanced search function is found by clicking the gear button next to (far right side) it. Alternatively, click on ANY of this text, I've helpfully made it all a nice hyperlink to the advanced function page.

Guys, I suggest we let this troll and his stupid uniform alone. He's probably loving all this attention, which is why he's chosen this uniform. Let's not feed his ego and just ignore him.

I could argue that he's glorifying race hate, which while not a crime per se is cutting pretty close.

As for not having the right to be offended, of course I do, I find the wearing of that particular uniform hugely offensive and I have the RIGHT to feel anything I want. Do I have the right to force him to change his behaviour, no of course I don't. Do I have the right to think he's a massive bell-end for wearing it, and to tell him so, yes I do, especially since it's clearly a statement piece. He's not wearing it for historical accuracy (because it's not, unless he's re-enacting herding innocent people into gas chambers in auscwitz!), he's not wearing it for practicality, it's a statement; "look how edgy I am, I'm wearing the uniform of the most despicable aspect of one of the most despicable regimes ever to have existed". It's not a massive jump away from turning up to an airsoft game dressed as the Grand Dragon of the KKK, which I'm pretty sure no one would advocate.
