On the subject at hand, if the Scots who voted SNP had voted Labour, in Westminster Labour would have 295 seats which still would not be enough to beat the Tory 331 seat total. It would have meant that, in the media, the Tories would not be able to claim they had managed a resounding victory, which is important because they can and will point to the result as 'proof' that the English have given them a mandate to continue with or even extend their austerity policies, ignoring Scotland as is their usual modus operandi.

Personally I believe that this is the very reason why the SNP did so well. After the referendum the Tories in particular, but also the Labour Party if to a lesser extent, responded with "OK, carry on as normal", ignoring the fact that the "No Vote" got a huge boost by the promises made by Cameron, et al., regarding further devolution of power from Westminster to Holyrood. It's all very well people in England going "You've got a separate parliament, what more do you want?" but the truth is that Holyrood does not have fiscal independence and let's have it right, money is power.

To be fair it winds me up aswell, I just don't bite. It's like calling a Protestant an Orange man or a Catholic a Fenian. It's not the word that's always offensive, its the intent behind it and the context it's usually used in. Whenver I've been called a Fenian it's never been in the context of "Oh, what a wonderful Fenian man you are, be safe on your travels and I hope you don't burn in hell at any point" .

Nor is Jock usually used in a complimentary context. It's used to be demeaning for the most part. It's the same amount of letters and syllables as Scot, why use it? And Jockistan is just going out of your way, Scotland is shorter - so why bother?

In the grand scheme of things "Jock" is not as offensive as some racial epithets, but it has been used elsewhere in contentious negative contexts, so let's just leave it out, lads, OK?

Not as far as I have seen. BBs seem to do three types of damage to guns:
    1) They leave residue in the barrel that needs to be cleaned off, this is true of all BBs and its to do with the waxy coating they have.
    2) They splinter or break and leave pieces about. Very rare, normally only an issue with using 0.12g BBs but it can happen.
    3) The BB repeatedly getting spun back by the bucking rubber will wear the rubber down.

I don't see why a heavier BB would do anything other than increase the wear and tear on the bucking, and even then I suspect the difference would be marginal.

I very much doubt that weight would have any effect on an airsoft gun in the manner you enquired about. There are far greater forces present in all types of airsoft weapons, be they spring, aeg or gbb, in the mechanisms that create the blast of air or gas to propel the BB and a difference of 0.2 of a gram between the standard and the heaviest BB isn't going to add any significant amount to those forces already in play. You "might" get additional wear on the hop rubber, but those are service items anyway and would expect to be changed at intervals.

I've wondered before too, though I've only ever noticed it on Combat Machines.

I thought it might be some sort of QD thing for suppressors or something, to lock them and stop them rotating. Though I'm probably wrong.

lol, if there's one thing that the military hierarchy likes to facilitate, it's warfighters getting drunk on the battlefield..

It's a good question to be honest I've never really considered it; the muzzle device on the L85 is a very similar 'bird cage' but it doesn't have the same cut. Without googling it I'd say it's to index some sort of common attachment but I'm not sure what as I've never seen a suppressor that uses it and I'm pretty sure the US issue BFA and Bayonet don't use it either (could be wrong on one of those though).

Played a game two weeks ago. Hit someone from inside a room out of the doorway, and saw two more guys behind him in the distance. The first guy walked right in front of my line of fire, so I tried to shoot around him. He then proceeded to have a go at me but I apologised anyway. Soon afterwards I realised my attack was a failure so I decided to leave the room via the back door. A minute later the marshalls announced "Weapons down! Weapons down!" through the PA. Turns out the guy I first shot came back with a solid-state grenade and attempted to throw it into the room, as he thought I was still there (I presume). He threw it at the glass door instead and shattered it everywhere.

So remember kids, don't stay in the same area for too long or you'll get impaled by shards of glass.

(It was actually safety glass so it shattered into billions of harmless pieces)
