I bought some from Skirmish Airsoft Mansfield, but they only got the 1 batch - the verdict: 8 out of 10 cats preferred Banshee.

I suspect the French Commandos who faced one at the casino in Ouistreham on D-Day would probably have agreed with you. If that poxy thing had been less accurate their job would have been a lot easier!

Yeah, I'll be there, one way or another. I expect I'll be sniping, but I'll take an AEG as well - not sure which yet / may have a new one / who knows? I'll probably be wearing DPM unless I manage to find the money for Partisan before then. "Others" all the way! How much money to take depends on how much food, drinks, ammo,* etc. you're going to take and what else you think you may buy kit wise. If you're there mainly for the skirmishing, you wont spend much unless you buy new kit. The site is plenty big enough to get lost in and has a lot of different areas, but not many of them would count as CQB. Even the village, which would be a CQB arena ordinarily, becomes a pitched battle. Not sure that an MP9 is really the thing, unless as sniper backup. *You'll probably use less ammo over the whole weekend than during a usual day skirmishing, because the site is so big. You spend a lot of time patrolling / looking for trouble.

Xplode MK5's are a fucking menace - the fuse time can be literally as little as 2s. Don't use unless wearing thick leather gloves, and DO NOT, under any circumstances, light one and pull your hand back over your shoulder to throw it overarm, because that puts it right next to your ear...

taiwangun.com Bullseye Country Sport fire-support (they don't deserve a red but 1 dodgy MOSFET & several dodgy prices gets them 1/2 way)
-
Why do you want a 2 tone? I ask because there are many misconceptions about the law floating around.

Not really over-engineered, just a different beast. The British one has a carriage that just about sits on the ground; the recoil would be transmitted pretty much straight down so the flexing of the base is supported. The German gun is more versatile; it was used as an anti-materiel weapon as well as anti-aircraft so the additional weight would allow greater accuracy.

zombie apocalypse.....would your gun do the job!?
Ian_Gere replied to Pointman PUG's topic in General Discussion
My g/f lives a long way from me and, TBF, when it comes to things like suffering and violence, she's fucking useless... have to hook up with someone else for a shag. I mean, 'ksake, in a zombie apocalypse you'd really need a reason to crack on and no shagging would really put a dent in that! -
^^Needs an AK, methinks...

"Flat" means very non-reflective, more so than standard matte.

AKS-74U all the way. If you're looking for light, you don't want the ICS one - it's about the same as the real steel. The CYMA is probably not much lighter, but has the benefit of being on sale from gunfire.pl for £130 - for a light one you'd be best off with the D-Boys from taiwangun.com / get them to downgrade the spring to a Guarder SP100 and then use it until it breaks = after that just drop in a whole replacement CYMA gearbox for <£50 (although I wouldn't be surprised if it lasts a couple of years, you just can't tell with D-Boys stuff / some of it is made of dog hair matted with chewing gum, some of it is pre-formed popadoms, some is good). You can get plastic or aluminium RIS handguards for them, but you'd have to check exact compatibility (actually if u r interested say so b/c it's info i wouldn't mind having myself but i cba to go looking right now) - ehobbyasia.com have them iirc.

Good lard, i'm getting bored of people telling this lad he's too young... Clearly his parents give him plenty of latitude and that is their prerogative. Oh if only mine had felt similarly... I would have been able to stay on good terms with them, instead of taking the latitude I required, falling out with them, and in my youthful folly throwing the baby out with the bathwater, rejecting anything they had to say. The laws in France regarding fire crackers are much more lax. I remember a dual French-British citizen mate of mine during my young teens used to bring back handfuls of them and tiny rockets also - they only contain about 1g of powder or something equally poxy, but they are a laugh. Obviously, since he is a minor, his parents actually own the the fire crackers, in a legal sense, just as they own his clothes, etc. Whether he will be able to use them at an airsoft site is another story. Prima facie it would appear not, however adult supervision may be sufficient. Teo, you may find that adults whom you know will give you the benefit of the doubt if you are obviously sensible and able to be trusted not to wig out and stuff lit bangers in someone's molle (just as a tempting eg), but if that turns out to be the case, you would do well to take note of how people have reacted to hearing about you just having them and let what happens in Lisburn stay in Lisburn... -

zombie apocalypse.....would your gun do the job!?

Hmmmmm... I suppose the more unsavoury of my life experiences combined with my interest in military matters in general might give me an edge against Joe Public, but my health isn't good and my stamina is pathetic. I think I'd grab my various canteens and water bladders, polythene sheet (yes, I do have one, which was originally 1/2 of a king size mattress wrapping, as part of my camping gear), tent, bed roll, ghillie suit makings, sword, binoculars, folding shovel, bill hook, wire saw, multitool, survival rations, hexi, and meds (inc vitamins) and head for the hills in my DPM's and para boots... try to knock over a chemist or 3 and some newsagents for baccy and skins on the way, but generally staying out of everyone's way would be my priority. Better to rely on biology, that we can survive months with little to no food, but only days without water, however, especially for those who have never felt it, hunger hurts; physics, in that it not only rains often in the UK but that the water table is never that far from the surface; and psychology, in that the most salient fact in any situation involving public disorder is... the stupidity of one person is an unpredictable thing, however when 2 idiots join forces their stupidity is squared, not doubled, three cubed, and exponentially onwards until the actions it dictates become a matter of certainty, despite whatever efforts those few non-idiots amongst them may attempt, and therefore avoiding them would become a doddle. -

It's probably prejudice on my part, but I just don't imagine that many airsofters are also twits... -
I can't get there early enough unless there's anyone with space in their vehicle going from or via Nottingham, but I'd love to go if there is.

I've carried an AEG (AKS-74U w/ stock folded) on a 1pt bungee sling (over left shoulder so it hung forward of under right shoulder, not quite on front of chest) as a sniper secondary - what a massive pain in the hole! Yeah, heavier than what you're talking about, but it wasn't the weight that was the issue, it was the way it found a way to get in the way of pretty much anything. If you're not holding it, a gun needs either a 2 / 3 point sling or a holster of some sort, even if that is just a loop that the muzzle goes through and the weight is on a bungee sling. You should talk to geoffreym about making an M4 into a sidearm though.
-
From what I've seen, genuine dickheads* don't last long in airsoft - they either sort themselves out or don't come back - something to do with what an AEG can do on full auto, regardless of the rules or the recommendations regarding overkill, probably. *As opposed to the dickheadery of which we are all capable on an off day

^^Find him on fleabay.

There's also Chesterfield Imperial Airsoft although their webby is saying Closed Until Further Notice... hopefully we'll see them again, but maybe they've gone down for too much competition.
