  1. I'm bored of music festivals. It's been literally decades since one felt like something extraordinary might happen. They're just gigs with more dirt.
  2. I was hoping for a bigger event. 36 players doesn't seem to justify the amount of back story to me. It's too soon for me to think of paying for stuff after NAE when I haven't even paid for that yet!
  3. I do want to. I just rang them up for a beat around the haggle bush. It's the mags. £30. Thirty fucking quid. For 11 rounds. They're not having it though, so no. How much did you pay for your holster? Just coughed up £88-odd for my PDI barrel. Heads up people: x-fire.org are having an easter free shipping sale woohoo! Soviet Russian Army VDV Plastic Flask with pouch 1.5L Afghanistan War Soviet Russian Army AK canvas mags pouch 4 mags - $47.00 posted ~ Alexcatfish on fleabay Just got another Soviet faux leather belt cheap too.
  4. I'm never going to wear any eyepro that isn't full seal ever again. I find it amazing that people shy away from mesh because tiny fragments may get through (and for the sake of discussion forget the physics involved, because many people will not understand the simplest science, purely because it is science so they just switch off) but cheerfully wear lenses with gaps around the edges that whole BB's can fit through, nevermind the size of shattered fragment which could ricochet up off a gun or mask. Literally amazing
  5. Got an interesting item off fleabay earlier: £4.99 posted / can't go wrong! Not sure I actually want a Docter sight on any of my AK's, but soonish I'll have one that is surplus to requirements, so maybe i'll stick it on there to sell. Just started the ball rolling on buying a PDI 6.01x595mm barrel from x-fire.org but they can't just sell you stuff like any normal webby; oh no, they're not content with the tortured Japanglish on their order page, they have to drag it all out by making you wait for a 2nd email with the shipping cost and their PayPal deets  I'm so tempted to buy a Tokarev too but I'll only regret it in 2 weeks when i have to choose between smoking and eating...
  6. I know - with one of those alligator compensators on it too!
  7. Yeah, if there's money to be paid the PO usually deliver a note saying so with options of website or phone number to pay it via and then they deliver once you've paid.
  8. ^^Well yeah, as far as i understand it, active breaking involves dumping current into a convenient resistor, so a higher discharge rate could burn it out, if it were made to tight tolerances.
  9. ^^and woe betide anyone standing behind, or even worse sharing a tent with, you! When meanandgreen were having a sale earlier this year i picked up some bundeswehr emergency rations which i haven't tried yet. I'm not expecting much - the ingredients make it sound like it will be sort of soft shortbread (contradiction in terms i know, but there we are ), but you never know, if anybody could come up with a lump of vegetarian stodge that contains all the food groups in the minimum possible volume and still tastes alright, i'd bet on the Germans to do it! Otherwise the vegetarian MRE's that are on offer to British squaddies aren't bad. TBF, if any of you can remember those silver brick ration packs, there's nothing at all to whinge about in the new ones... even the narsty coffee is head and shoulders above that Mellow-Birds/Humbrol-Cement blend that they used to use!
  10. If you're only getting 300-310FPS with 0.2g BB's out of an M100 spring, either the spring is knackered or your air seal is pants - possibly both. An Element M105 gets the closest to the magic 350, but that is assuming a good air seal. You can get them quickly from Bullseye Country Sports via their webby, their amazon shop, or their fleabay shop for about a tenner posted. You can get them for half that from dualdealshop on fleabay or get-reload.com but you'll have to wait for HK post. I'd start with cleaning the barrel with alcohol swabs (£1.79 /100 posted = cheapest available) and cleaning rod (i think airsoftworld have them cheapest). Then reseat your hop rubber and wrap a couple of layers of PTFE tape around the part which doesn't have the bump, grease the outside with CT-2 Teflon Silicone grease: this will allow it to slide into the hop unit with the tape in place. If you're still getting poor power, consider a new hop rubber, but also check the compression of your cylinder. First try squashing the piston into the cylinder with your thumb blocking the cylinder head tube (without the air seal nozzle). It should not leak at all. If it does, grease up the piston head O-ring with CT-2 and try again. If it still leaks you may need a new O-ring, but also check for scratches inside the cylinder and/or damage to the cylinder head. You can also stretch an old O-ring to make it seal better by forcing it over the outside of the cylinder and leaving it there for a few hours. Once you know the cylinder compression is right, try it out with the air seal nozzle on. It will leak a bit, but you should not be able to press the piston all the way down quickly. An aluminium nozzle with 1 or 2 miniature O-rings is best.
  11. It does sound like the active braking function of the MOSFET is failing, but I didn't think 7.4V was enough to make selected single shot fire as full-auto. Maybe the gearbox is designed differently to work with the FET?
  12. The original rubber/silicone-whatever-majig firing button on my model LAW has gone hard - it'll need a replacement and besides I don't want a switch that could fail - bodging one that will be completely reliable from scratch would be more hassle than just bodging a rocker switch to fit. Those mortar pyro's are strike lit afaik - that cap looks like a standard striker - my guess is that there's a fuse underneath. I expect it's pretty much the same as a firework airbomb. I plan to wrap the steel filament around the fuse, maybe put a nick in it with a scalpel to hold the filament. The bang will blow it all to the side, but there'll be a couple of mm either side anyway - not something to reload in the field though... just like the real deal.
  13. Oh no, where to start...? My LAW project^^ It's plastic so the plan is to fit stainless steel exhaust tubes, 1 inside the other, and build a bayonet fitting type breech block at the arse end and a simple steel filament ignition system with an 18650 battery and rocker switch... to fire these. Turn the camera to the right and we see evidence of... ...some of the stuff out of which I intend to make a ghillie suit and the fucked up camping mat which I intend to use to make it comfortable to lie up in (which also gets used for face mask/goggle mods); the spare tent poles which have been co-opted to make a black background against which I can zero scopes (by taking the lot to a corner of a far off field... near Jct 25, M1 out of sight/out of mind) but that needs work to make it better; the Milan rocket sock which I have converted into a rifle bag needs a better shoulder strap; the plastic machete needs a paint job to make the handle look like wood... Hiding elsewhere is my Ares L1A1 SLR which I have a vague plan to convert to wooden furniture and use a piece of shaped roof lead between the inner and outer barrels for realistic weight, although just turning the fucking thing into a working AEG would be a start There is a set of 58 Pattern webbing lurking nearby which needs a damn good soak in Dettol and multiple washes to get it completely free from stores stench. A turtle helmet with burlap camouflage cover is just visible in the very top left, but it needs work to be wearable. There are pairs of 68 Pattern DPM kecks and lightweight OD's in my wardrobe, so I'm just missing a shirt for a Falklands or BAOR loadout, but it's low on my priorities list... The ghillie suit is mainly intended to be a Russian loadout, as my sniper rifle is an SVD, so to go with it I have a modern Splav harness, but although I've managed to find the pouches for sale, as of yet I haven't managed to buy any. Svetlana my SVD is still a work in progress: she's good, but I'm getting to be so fucked up health wise that I need her to be excellent, so I can hit targets even further away; PDI barrel this month methinks. But there's the KWA TT33 going on redwolf for £80 so I'm torn... Tatiana my AKS-47 has a busted folding stock bracket, which I could have fixed with a bit from the cheap stock I bought to replace the lost boss from the opposite side bracket, but I flogged it on. Somehow I can't see an under folding stock without the lock bracket being something I can sell on, so I'll be stuck with whatever I buy this time... I have got a spare front end though, so with the right receiver that'll be a new gun with a stock which doesn't fold, but it's £50 for a decent stock and who knows for the receiver...? And that front end was earmarked for the CM.028U plastic receiver with folding stock I have spare... because I have a project AK on the go which needs the real steel stock finished by my chippy mate so it can fit on a G&P ali receiver and then join to my CM.028U tactical front end to make a major league cool post apocalyptic AK... we've done the angle cut correct, but the drilling needs some wedge bits making to hold it all in a vice and he's worse than me for reliability (which is saying something ffs!). Oh yeah, and Phatima my AKS-74U has developed a feed issue for no apparent reason: mags which worked perfectly well in her before now don't, but I haven't changed anything important since they did work. I've got 3 midcaps which will feed about half of their BB's into her because their springs are brand new and fucking fierce, but the other 3 which also have those springs don't work in her V^^VGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Anyway she needs a rebuild because I'm also part way through upgrading her to run on 11.1V with a MOSFET. Oh and the MOSFET in Morena my newly refinished CM.048 AK-74 burned out when I reassembled her t'other day with her new Falcon 6.03x455mm barrel. Fortunately the fleabay seller is sending me another for free, but right at this moment I don't have a fully working reliable AEG, just my Scorpion... ...and breath... ...which no longer selects single shot, despite having an AB MOSFET fitted (I'm pretty sure it's mechanical but so far I haven't been able to suss it out). And Jetta my G36K/EV Hybrid is also in bits because of a selector problem - only selects single shot on either setting iirc because it's been so long, I would have to search stuff I've written ages ago on this forum to jog my memory There's probably other stuff which I've forgotten too...
  14. time for a new avvy

  15. It's spelled "bergen", Richie, like the Norwegian city. Not a big deal but if you start talking to people on certain fb pages and make mistakes like that you'll find yourself on the receiving end of a lot of 'I'm so much more ally than you' bullshit. I've just bought some rechargeable AA's and some 6.5cm solder tabs for batteries because my new XTX446 radio finally arrived and, while the info I had received that they would take 3 AA's is substantially correct, the configuration is a bit funky... still, a bit of soldering is well worth it to get a boss radio brand new for £12.50, even though I have had to wait for yonks to actually receive it!
  16. I'm selling my strichtarn respirator bag if anyone's interested: here.
  17. Have you actually done that, Liam? If so, with what rubber and sandpaper?
  18. Mate, if i was getting off me 'ead I wouldn't mind. At least i'd have something to show for it, as it were... all i'm getting is very poor analgesia and a whole raft of bloody annoying side effects, the least of which is a memory like a dope fiend.
  19. You can get hop rubbers with no bump where the nub connects - as usual i'm fucked if i can remember where i saw 'em though...
  20. Ahhhh... yes, now I get it. Pain in the arse waiting to happen... What you need is one of those hop rubbers with no bump.
  21. You can fit 2 snot poodles in a crusader cup - good eatin'
  22. How much experience of airsofting do you have?
  23. Webby needs an update Looks good though: Address - Lydd Training Camp, Tourney Rd, Lydd, Kent, TN29 9JR Bit of an arse to get to if you don't drive though...
