  1. Vz61 Skorpion: the sidearm of champions (when the fucking drum mag doesn't jam because it's too full off BB's to stop it rattling)! Links?
  2. ^^That's a good idea, James. I could recycle some dirty old DPM cordura in strips like a Roman leather armour skirt, but overlapping.
  3. let us know how you get on with those after skirmishing them, please
  4. No one needs all the hassle that can arise from a GBBR either, eh James? But you no doubt enjoy the crisp trigger response. Heavy gauge wiring, Deans, and a MOSFET is how to get closer to that with an AEG. Of course seeing as how you want an M4, you could go for a BTC Chimera in place of a simple power handling MOSFET (for V2 in stock @air-lab.co.uk i believe) which allows you to not just pre-cock so shots have the same trigger response as a spring sniper, but also to programme the ROF which is then handled as a series of crisp semi-auto shots but with just a few milliseconds between them - apparently it sounds and feels quite different from ordinary full auto - £90 though and not entirely simple to fit. You would still want heavy gauge wiring and Deans to get the best out of it mind...
  5. But what you've been missing all your life is...
  6. Who wouldn't want one of these?
  7. These for the C8 and they only come in pairs this cheap @mo, but many C8's come with 3 mounts. Or for the short zoomable one you need a 30mm mount and either half an inner spacer or some tape. I use one similar to this, and on my 2x18650 long torch, one of these. You can use part of the inner plastic ring from LX tape as a spacer, or a strip of the black plastic from a microwave meal works well also.
  8. Search "CREE XML T6" on fleabay. That is the LED and is capable of 1600lm, but you'll see exaggerated-claims-a-gogo. It takes 2 x 18650 batteries to get the best out of them, but the single battery torch such as the C8 or the little zoomable ones are plenty bright enough to prevent people seeing what is behind it on full beam or strobe. I used mine at MCG The Gaol last weekend and buggered up people's night vision in the dim areas a treat
  9. Possibly being made from 7075 and CNC finished means they don't need to be specifically reinforced...?
  10. All it needs is a My Little Pony pink mane all down the top rail and it'll be just right, princess.
  11. Shotokan for offense, Jujitsu for defence. Don't let the way Steven Seagal looks like he's fighting in an imaginary doorway the whole time put you off - i think he must have a back problem or something because I was a lot more fluid in competition during my teens. Ironically enough it was an injury I picked up in competition which started the back problems I have now, although the fact that car brakes don't work when they're upside down didn't help. Don't let that put you off though - you don't have to fight competitions to get a lot out of martial arts, excellent balance for one, and for two a confidence in your body, your ability to bring a bigger opponent down, which shows unconsciously when people try to intimidate you and gets you out of fights before they start.
  12. You could dilute the dark brown with acetone maybe. I bought 500ml from here, which turned out to be twice what i needed, but its the postage which costs not the stuff itself and i also wanted some dichloromethane so i was going to have to get that from them anyway. But they are right on sending it by courier not RM. You could probably get 100ml for nail polish from someone who couldn't care less what RM say you can or can't post cheap as chips.
  13. Dylon leather dye is good stuff, Russ.
  14. Yeah Happy, I agree: it's the enemy! I don't think it would be too difficult to armour most of it, but the turret on top lifts up to change the camera angle and the armature is a much more difficult proposition...
  15. We discussed them briefly on here. You'll need to ask to join iirc. The verdict was "OK".
  16. ^^Some suppressors have a CCW thread at one end and CW at the other. Spartan Doctrine ones do iirc.
  17. How much noise does it make? Do they let ppl shoot at it?
  18. I-Spy Tank £45 posted ~ Maplin Live streaming video. Controlled by i-Pad, i-Phone, or Android. Yeah, it needs some armour against BB hits and maybe a cooler paint job, but how about it for looking round corners in CQB? Delivering pyros even...
  19. Thanks for saying so. Unfortunately the prognosis doesn't include recovery, just that we may be able to prevent it getting worse and the side effects of some combination of meds may prove more bearable in the long term. As for talk, yeah but my frustration is a pretty much bottomless pit with despair somewhere in its murky depths. There's really only so much an untrained person can hear of it without suffering some kind of existential crisis themselves...
  20. Like I said, I hate M4's so I never pay that much attention to them. Both G&P and G&G Top Tech have reputations for good externals. Internals wise I think I probably would put more trust in G&G OOTB than G&P, even with the blowback (which IMO is a problem waiting to happen), if they were my only 2 options and I wasn't prepared to do much if any modification. Having said that, I have a niggling doubt about a gun designed with a MOSFET that burns out with 11.1V LiPo's... how strong are the GB parts for eg, if they are not expected to run very fast? And is all you get for the extra wonga some fatter wire and a dodgy MOSFET? If so, you could save yourself a lot of money by buying an intermediate wombat machine and rewiring it with Maplin 16AWG 2 Core power cable and the Gate Nano or better the NanoAB (if you do plan to use a 9.9V LiFe or 11.1V LiPo). At a guess I'd say CKinnerley is our resident M4 expert though (although by his own admission he knows fuck all about MOSFETs), maybe PM him for an opinion on the quality of externals and GB parts.
  21. I have a medical condition which causes me a lot of pain, so I spend a lot of time waiting for meds to take full effect before I can do anything IRL. The meds I take and pain between them also screw up any chance of a sleeping pattern, so times when I feel ok will be as likely to be in the middle of the night as during the day, so there's only some things I can do IRL without becoming the upstairs neighbour from hell.
  22. Yeah, I think the way it must have happened is that he turned up at the college with his bags, in which were his RIF's, a kitchen knife, and his dirty washing etc. and somehow ended up speaking to the Support Worker, to whom he showed the BB guns and, like a proper penis, fired one against a wall. At which point fearing for her*/his/somebody's safety she informed the college admin staff who called the old bill (*even though she denied that, who knows?). I think we can deduce that he was upset, or he wouldn't be talking to the support worker, or firing a BB gun... probably. The old bill turned up and wanted to get him off the premises so, even though they knew full well that carrying a kitchen knife inside a bag, within a holdall type bag, is not an offence, used it as the excuse to either arrest him, or perhaps threaten to arrest him if he didn't come along with them quietly. Something about the situation, be it him, his behaviour, the old bill, or maybe the Custody Sergeant, meant they decided they wanted to actually nick him - it may have been simply to hold him overnight to keep him away from the college or somebody there until he calmed down. They settled on adding the Manufacturing an RIF to the hopeless knife charge (Carrying an Object with a Blade or Point Longer than 3 Inches which is an offence which can only be heard in Magistrate's Court [you cannot elect for jury trial] so it's a good one to get someone in front of the mages where a nod and a wink is as good as a blind bat, say no more, say no more). But that still doesn't answer my central concern... how the fuck did he get found guilty? The VCRA has holes you could drive a double decker bus full of gun toting arabs through. His solicitor ought to have told the CPS that he would indeed elect for jury trial on that offence because he was going NG all the way and would be calling several witnesses, at which point the CPS would have caved and dropped all charges. Unless there is more to the story we haven't been told. Somebody else's testimony perhaps, or the threat of dragging someone else into it...
