F&O Anzio yesterday; very boring loadout but extremely practical which turned out to be the right choice I'd have to say.

Having had a quick shoot with this back to back against the Gen 4, everything just feels a little tighter on the 5th Gen. How much of that is down to it being brand new is a fair question, but the 4th Gen has only been gamed about 5 or 6 times. Trigger feels better, racking is more positive. Blowback feels different but it's hard to put my finger on exactly how. It feels slightly stronger but like the slide doesn't travel as far (which clearly can't be the case, but...).

The grey slight two tone effect looks good as does the curvature of the front end. The mags also have a baseplate that is more rounded and have returned to having the gas nozzle covered by the baseplate rather than exposed. The inside of the front outer barrel has more visible rifling too. My Surefire x300 is a lot tighter fit so perhaps very slight dimensional changes, but it all still fits in the holster fine. Looking forward to an improvement in the weather and a chance to use it in game.

I have never been asked - and on the occasion I sold a pew - we actually met at a gameday for the handover, and considering the guy's costume, it was fair to say he was an airsofter LOL

I made the point several pages ago that I will find it difficult if not impossible to maintain a UKARA defense in the manner it was intended as the boy and i will be living abroad for most of the year.  There are many reasons the OP might not be able to get a UKARA, from being a carer to an international spy - he hasn't told us the reasons (which might assuage the negativity towards him) which is his right not to do.  3 games in three months isn't a lot if you're monied and present.  Not everybody is.

That being said...   I find the Just-Cos thing rather fishy, and feel that there should be an alternative way to provide a defense.

Because this is a knitting circle for overgrown children who like to run around with toy guns shooting each other

How the fuck is this thread 6 pages deep

From my reading it seems superwok is a quite decent person and has his head screwed on and doesn't seem the sort of person who wants a black gun to cause mischief with and the majority of his replies have been quite mature, sure he used a system no one agrees with but in the end it's the retailer who is selling guns to people under this made up system

I know we fought for the defence, being a player of 20+ years in the hobby I'm a pre vcra player and remember how our hobby was in danger of being sacked off so I understand the argument

But being someone who has bought and sold over 700 airsoft guns in my time in this hobby, I can only think of a handful of times anyone on this forum in private sales has asked me for a defence

I can guarantee I could message someone selling a gun and offer to pay up right away and won't be asked for a defence 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just seems a bit of a joke how we can be so hell bent on making sure retailers follow the rules to a T but second hand sales it's do as you like?

    Am I wrong?

I’ll be honest, that makes perfect sense to me.
If the site operator wants realism and immersion at his place, fair enough.
Especially the no m4 mags in pistols, I’ve never tried to ram a 5.56 into a 9mm but I can see the attempt being futile.

Also, I think two tone, as important as it is for the non committed player starting off is important, can understand the rule of not allowing them on the site.
It just kinda brings in the right players who are into the immersion.

I have found myself in a position of playing around different sites with no regular schedule, so keeping my ukara “live” to allow a couple of recent purchases has been impossible.
Personally I don’t see the £20 being much of a rip off to allow me my habit.
But I consider myself a reasonably long standing player, so proof of me attending sites to play isn’t difficult, who doesn’t like to pose for the photographer when you spot him!

Honestly I'm shocked this situation has happened/is happening they way it is, just fucking awful there's no other way to put it.

I presume there's some sort of explanation, that's my hope anyway really trying to be generous; but simply not giving out any info (would take 5 minutes to write a post) is absolutely diabolical.

Absolutely anyone over 18 can buy an IF (and there'll be plenty of shops which don't enforce that rule) and anyone can buy black spray paint from the Halfords round the corner, or maybe even the same shop that sold them the IF.  2 minutes later.. well sick pistol bruv.

I'd say airsoft is way more accessible than in the past and far more mainstream than ever.
With the rise of social media companies are able to reach a far greater audience including those who might not have heard of airsoft. The same applies to youtubers. Compare this to 20 years ago when the only online places for airsofters was a couple of forums similar to here.
Costs are comparably lower as there were no clone companies so your choices of manufacturers was pretty much TM, Classic Army or ICS and magazines were £25 - £30 each

I sympathise with the need for a system of defense such as UKARA, but to be fair to the OP, my son's  situation would mean that if he were 18, it would be incredibly difficult for him to maintain a UKARA defense, and once I leave the UK,  it will be the same for me.  We'll only be back for a month or two at a time with lots of family visiting responsibilities to fit into a limited budget when it comes to car hire, fees, ammo, and possibly having to rent an air BnB for the duration.

Hence, as discussed in other threads, I maintain an album of site generated pictures of me and him participating in the hobby to help us form a defence of our own should we ever be pulled over by the fuzz with a car full of RIFs.  Which I know doesn't help with retailers...  but then this is the reason for this thread I suppose.

Mind you the OP didn't do himself any favours by not at least trying to explain the situation.

    Just playing devil's advocate.

Places like this do not lend themselves well to paintball
I played the infamous paintball game at the Mall.
It should have been run as a limited numbers & limited paint game, but then the costs don’t add up - it would have needed to be well trusted and experienced organiser to be able to charge high enough entry prices for any chance of viability ( and originally it would have been with a scheduled event and aiming powder balls, but somebody else also jumped the bandwagon and secured an earlier date )

They soon discovered they had bit off more than they could chew, opened it to unlimited paint to up the income.
In minutes the whole place was soaked with clear paint.  Carpets absorbed and were full of liquid gel, marble floors were ice rinks.
Game one was ended early and then the long wait for all the sawdust in the area to be bought and thrown around the site
    It didn’t get much better

Assaults on shop doorways were no surprise - just watch the opposition pass the big window and squeeze the trigger as they get to the door
Walls didn’t need to be knocked in etc as the back service corridors could be used whilst others were stuck in stalemates at the shop fronts

Airsoft just leaves plastic balls around which can be swept up - just avoid stepping on concentrations of BBs

From what I heard for weeks later, the paint was ‘bleeding’ out of the carpets for airsofter games
Rent and rates will be the real killer.
As soon as there’s any use the rates become active, so it’s not always an existing cost for the owners - if they are stuck with rates then at least some income from game days reduces costs, or sometimes concessions can be made with councils such as for short term pop up shops etc & as you mentioned charity concessions can work

As far as I know having held a firearms license for quite a few years only pressure bearing components of a gun are controlled so bolt, barrel, receiver. Triggers and fire control mechanisms are not controlled in the uk and that isnt really relevant as making parts for toys is not making parts for guns
