Got here FIVE naff gun bags. Probably purchased from Amazon many moons ago. They do alright for organised carry with plenty of pockets, but leave something to be desired for actually protecting your guns. However, should be fine if you want to stash a loaner in it and hand it to your friend for a day. Or if you desire home storage for your pews. They have a little plastic window so you can label what's inside. Absolutely frustrating with shorter rifles. They flop about everywhere. And they can be yours for.... Cost = FREE. Just pay postage and they're yours. Better value will be had the more you buy. Postage = Royal Mail Tracked 48. Actual postage cost will be calculated when you buy, but will probably be around £3-4. If you buy all 5, I'll try my best to smash them all into the same Small Parcel, but it may cost a little more. Payment = Bank Transfer or PayPal. I have an irrational distrust of any retailer who is lazy with capitalisation. I see it in a lot of places in the airsoft world.

First game with my new DE M906C (thanks @RostokMcSpoons). First impressions are great. Chrono'd bang on 300FPS on 0.25g with remarkable consistency for "a chinese gun", and suddenly I have more range than I know what to do with. Clearly my 2010s-era common knowledge on airsoft brands and QC needs a big fat update!

Agreed. "Desperate" is the wrong word. How funny would it be that something on this very expensive replica is incorrect because he didn't wait for a few more images and angles of the thing.

I also have to laugh at how seemingly desperate DCA appears. One measly Royal Marine promo image comes out, and straight away he's making plans to build (and overcharge) airsoft replicas based on it. It's not even a very interesting rifle.

Imagine you're starting a new airsoft site. What would you get for rental rifles?
Whatever you pick, it would have to be:
- Good value.
- Sturdy enough to withstand new and inexperienced players.
- Average performance and range with great consistency.
- Extremely reliable.
-Built well enough to not require fussing over and servicing every day.
- Ideally, just works straight out of the box.
What would you pick?
(Yes, this is a roundabout way of saying I'm in the market for a new gun and I need advice lol)

I'd go with the JG G36 too, I think it would be worth trying to figure out if you can bulk buy any specific high cap mags that are cheap and fairly reliable as that was the only issue I had when renting them.

At one point Ground Zero were handing out G&G GEC36s as their site guns. Pretty expensive way of equipping your site (at current prices), but they were best buds with G&G 'back in the day' so I assume they got them cheap. Rock solid G36 variant- seemed to be tougher than the indomitable JG G36.

What amperage should I charge my lipo batteries at?
Battery = li-po, 1300mAh, 7.4v, 25C, 8Wh
Charger = Turingy Accucell 6.
I read recently the suggestion that its better to charge lipos slower, but I need to balance that against getting them charged in time for tomorrow! Any advice?

Using the method Adolf explained to find out what amp to charge the battery at is the general rule of thumb mate. If you have a battery that is 1450 Mah for example it will be 1.45 amp. However you can't usually go up in .5 so I always tend to keep mine under to be safe so I charge my 1450 Mah lipos at 1.4 amps and my 1300 at 1.3 👍🏼... Make sure you're using a decent smart charge intended for lipos and be sure to select "balance charge" and have the little white plug on your battery connected to the charger.

Talking about the Tutorial subboard specifically, but every pinned thread on the forum could probably do with some going over to see if they're really relevant, or needed, anymore. e.g. Some pinned threads in "Tutorials" are essentially just links to a long defunct website (mechbox.com - which in itself I always thought was just trying to make the word "mechbox" a thing, but that's beside the point.) Clearing out old and worth-less pinned threads can make room for our contemporaries to recreate the same content, but better and more up to date.

Apologies for the necro - I found out some relevant info after hunting for my own set of Desert Locust thermal lenses. Apparently Revision discontinued them about a year ago. Revision also thinks that they weren't that much better in terms of anti-fog compared to the standard Desert Locust lens, which was a reason why they discontinued them. Ian at https://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/ advised that the lenses were made to order, and that they and a company in France were possibly the only retailers that ever ordered them. Thermal lenses were never issued by any military, they were only sold to retailers, hence why they were rare before (and even rarer now). As for myself, Ian found me a new set of Desert Locust thermal lenses gathering dust in some box in his warehouse! So I've got 'em now. Sorry to everyone else who may have been looking for a set.

An excellent point. I ask because my last game day I overheard marshals questioning if one of their chrono units was on the fizz, and one of them insisted that he "calibrated all of them tournament standards" (or something like that - my memory is fuzzy on the exact wording).

Just got my hands on a chronograph (Acetech AC6000BT). Does it require calibration or does it just work out of the box? Is calibration even a thing? I can't see anything like that referenced in the manual.

Any recommendations for 7.4v M4 buffer tube LiPo batteries? The Perun manual says a high "C" rating is best.
