  1. Talking about the Tutorial subboard specifically, but every pinned thread on the forum could probably do with some going over to see if they're really relevant, or needed, anymore. e.g. Some pinned threads in "Tutorials" are essentially just links to a long defunct website (mechbox.com - which in itself I always thought was just trying to make the word "mechbox" a thing, but that's beside the point.) Clearing out old and worth-less pinned threads can make room for our contemporaries to recreate the same content, but better and more up to date.
  2. We've had a laugh - I think now is the time to be welcoming and accommodating. @1omegasquadron I'd consider asking admin to delete this thread and you can try again (but sounding less tryhard-ish).
  3. I foresee a "Killbox"-like situation. Good luck everybody!
  4. ChatGPT to the rescue! (Bold text added for emphasis.) I also had the AI analyse the communication quality of the original post, for the funny: Gosh. We can all learn.
  5. Should I pull out the foam from my Desert Locust goggles?

I removed the foam from my Revision Bullet Ant goggles and they never steamed up.

  6. Apologies for the necro - I found out some relevant info after hunting for my own set of Desert Locust thermal lenses. Apparently Revision discontinued them about a year ago. Revision also thinks that they weren't that much better in terms of anti-fog compared to the standard Desert Locust lens, which was a reason why they discontinued them. Ian at https://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/ advised that the lenses were made to order, and that they and a company in France were possibly the only retailers that ever ordered them. Thermal lenses were never issued by any military, they were only sold to retailers, hence why they were rare before (and even rarer now). As for myself, Ian found me a new set of Desert Locust thermal lenses gathering dust in some box in his warehouse! So I've got 'em now. Sorry to everyone else who may have been looking for a set.
  7. https://exmachina.uk/ Assuming this is the tech's website - it says "Will return Summer 2023." Hopefully it really is just a case of a tech having life issues and getting themselves sorted out before returning to work, and not a scam. Can't believe you sold a whole working gearbox for the sake of some wiring though.
  8. An excellent point. I ask because my last game day I overheard marshals questioning if one of their chrono units was on the fizz, and one of them insisted that he "calibrated all of them tournament standards" (or something like that - my memory is fuzzy on the exact wording).
  9. I need a Type 89. Is TM my only choice?
  10. Just got my hands on a chronograph (Acetech AC6000BT). Does it require calibration or does it just work out of the box? Is calibration even a thing? I can't see anything like that referenced in the manual.
  11. Any recommendations for 7.4v M4 buffer tube LiPo batteries? The Perun manual says a high "C" rating is best.

  12. Is there a best practice for handling Bio BBs? A while back I bought a bag at my local site. It was fine in the morning but started badly misfeeding in the afternoon. Someone mentioned that the breakdown process starts when bio BBs are exposed to moisture and start to swell in size. Should I avoid touching bios directly? Use a scoop? That kind of thing?
  13. Why is everyone and their dog selling AR-9s now? Seems to be the new ubiquitous "thing".

@Druid799 I haven't had any problems with supply. Bought 1000 three weeks ago - has something happened recently to supply? I'd have bought more if I was allowed, but 1200's my limit ?

  14. I've had a look and I will actually seriously consider it. Thank you!
  15. We need green guns to make a comeback and dethrone the black/tan two tone zeitgeist. Yes. Good eye, yes it did! (Here is an alternative link if the one above doesn't work for people as it didn't for me.) I purchased it originally from EHobbyAsia in June 2013. It cost me $364.80USD. I really love the look of it - the mid-length barrel combined with a full length M203 just looks really kino to me. And yes, all the tan Magpul parts were made by PTS during their official partnership, and are probably quite rare these days. I started switching over to Olive Drab furniture as I gradually stopped wearing Multicam gear. I never found any kosher Magpul PTS bits in olive drab, so mixed and matched with RS Magpul and PTS parts; The ACS stock, rifle-length handguard, and front BUIS are all RS Magpul. The rear BUIS is (I think) "old new" Magpul PTS stock from Firesupport. The motor grip and magazines are contemporary PTS-make, and luckily the Magpul design aesthetic is still very much in PTS's DNA despite the partnership with Magpul being over for a very long time. The M203 grip and ACOG are spray painted with Olive Drab Krylon, again from Firesupport. I've shifted the rear BUIS forward so the ACOG sits behind it, and it all fits quite comfortably on the top rail without interfering with the charging handle. Luke/Negative Airsoft did mention that the front BUIS atop G&G railed gas-block did cause some consternation with his viewers, but admitted that there was nowhere else to put it. I love how it looks and how I can flatten the iron sights for use with any red dot or other sight, like Old Snake's M4 Custom from MGS4. I do want to have a magnified optic though, and am willing to ditch the ACOG for anything with better eye relief as long as it's not an LVPO (cos they look too much like a sniper's scope in my opinion).
  16. Must cut the Shadowfoam...
  17. I'd really like to try an ELCAN with it, see if it meshes. But I'm looking for an optic with better eye relief in any case, cos I bought that ACOG back when Ebairsoft used to be called Ebaybanned, and I basically have to have my face shoved right into the glass to see through it. Any suggestions? Yes to the Magpul, and I'd love to find an older legit PMAG in OD but I'd probably have better chance of winning the lottery. I've got loads of the tan ones mind (which again I'll probably sell).
  18. It's finally ready (thanks to Negative Airsoft) - my Magpul M4 with olive drab furniture. Not based on any real world firearm, just a rifle completely done in Magpul's design language; a collection of bits and bobs I find aesthetically pleasing and to match up with the G&P Magpul receiver (manufactured back when Magpul and PTS had a partnership). Came with Magpul PTS tan furniture originally (which I might sell), but I much prefer the two toning here with olive drab over tan, as it seems a little bit more special, a bit more "military" and a bit more uncommon (to me) than tan and black. Very pleased with how it's come together (although Luke suggested that aesthetically it would be better with an EOTech). No doubt the M203 will come off after the first game. Looks cool though! And it's got a Perun, so it beeps confidently which makes me giggle every time I play with it.
  19. I think we should probably get back on topic. Give any AEGs you have a service before you do. No doubt someone here can recommend a good technician local to you.
  20. Doing my bit for the forum's common knowledge - Just had my gun back from Negative Airsoft and it is AMAZING. The AEG he has built for me is now in my hands and it is a completely different league compared to every other AEG I have owned (always too hot stock, spring needing clipping, never enough money for upgrades). So YES, I highly, highly recommend Luke/Negative Airsoft. Absolute gent and a real gem of the UK airsoft community. His passion is evident and it shows in the care and attention he gives to every project, which he keeps you fully informed of throughout as mentioned above. He truly knows his stuff, and I'm almost convinced he is some kind of wizard.
  21. EEEEEEE Neg Air is done with my AEG

But was it so haunted that he'll put it in a video?

God I hope so. But I doubt it. Basically chucked out every stock G&P part and had a new gearbox built from the ground up. I don't think he had to fight it too much so it probably won't get a video. :(

  22. My rare flak vest has been bid on ebay, with 1.5 days remaining, so if you're interested get over there!

  23. I would just like juxtapose these two bits of the website: [A] Yeah, I don't think I'm going to be taking my family along for a fun day of being "exposed to and (potentially) participating in scenes of brutal and/or sexual nature." I don't think anyone wants to see their parents or siblings "consensually" force-fed while "consensually" hooked up to a car battery.
  24. Middle class, maybe. But not prepubescent in this case. The named director is 44-45 years old. He's also a "NFT and Metaverse specialist" at another company he's director of. And a crypto investor! I swell with confidence that Killbox will be a success. Dibs on the NFT of the consent page on the website lol.
  25. [A] Welp, this'll be perfect for that certain, masochistic breed of milsimmer.
