  1. Appreciate you're stepping away from the thread but just to cherry pick this suggestion: I hear what you suggesting but... 1) I don't think the player-base, nor the availability of site (and game days) is big enough to support fracturing it to that extent... 2) Where all the guns are obeying UK site limits the number of actual injuries seem to be pretty low. In my (limited) experience I've seen a couple of drops of blood from shots hitting bony bits of the face, and of course hits in the mouth... but otherwise I wouldn't see any need to make a 'I can take the pain' game, because about the only thing that could involve is removing the MED rules (and snipers are supposed to be all about the 80m+ kills, aren't they? They shouldn't be worried unduly by minimum 30m rule - it's a good excuse to buy an MP5k or a P90 ;)) Even the little kids running around with their parents at my site seem ok with yelling "ow" when they get hit, but they get on with it. So as long as the gun isn't *illegally* powerful, it should be fine.
  2. Ah, sorry yes that's possible with the PB gun, I've not seen one of those in the flesh. "Metal handguard" had me expecting it to be metal receiver too. The 906C... Ok, so it might be BBGuns4Less, but they're not always wrong It's the one I own, it's definitely all metal. With current stock levels, beggars can't always be choosers. A slightly pricier version, if you absolutely have to avoid BBGuns, is here https://www.defconairsoft.co.uk/product/double-eagle-m907-m4-with-falcon-fire-control-system-black-m907e/ (All metal, and in stock)
  3. Both the ones I linked to are in stock, and are full metal (EDCase is probably thinking of the 904 range, which are predominantly polymer) I have the M906C, it's my best gun.
  4. I only posted it because there's sod-all else out there (that I've seen). When there's plenty of interest in a new product "Something" is usually better than "nothing"...
  5. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/double-eagle-m916a-utr556-metal-handguard-version?pv=18896 Or for the standard M4 look https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/double-eagle-m906c-ar15-rifle-with-falcon-system-in-black.html Both great value
  6. This stuff is much better, you never, ever get shot whilst wearing it
  7. Was the site down for everyone yesterday?  Judging by the lack of new posts for a good chunk of the time, I'm guessing it was.

It was on the Discord Server - yes it was down.

  8. Oh ok. Maybe it's how cake works, I've had plenty of that.
  9. Yeah, I'm pretty certain of that. I mean, at some point you probably say "I've had enough crack today, I'll just have some cake instead". Airsoft offers no respite. There's always another range of guns to buy. I'm buying guns much, much, much faster than I'm actually attending skirmishes 😕 MP5 next on my wish list. And then one of them FAL GBBRs would be oh-so-nice...
  10. I had a (very minor) brainwave. I was trying to source a small spring to fit into the pair of small recesses (one in the body, one in the catch), without re-using something from one of my other guns. The spring from a retractable biro, cut down to a couple of spirals, was just about the right size! And it damn well actually works, the hold open catch works again. It'll probably fall apart again the next time it takes a knock though...
  11. "I say, you're a fine young filly! What a shapely ankle you have"
  12. Finally got me one of those pop-out bipod foregrips, £12 at Ant Supplies... Yeah, pretty sure it's going to make all the difference to my pistol shooting It'll probably go on my DE M906 as I think that's my longest ranged rifle at the moment, but it's quite a chunky thing, it may not be there long, I'll probably stick with stubby grips tbh. Also nabbed a gun bag from Action Hobbies boneyard section, room for a normal assault rifle, but it also has a sniper rifle extension, which will allow me to transport my M14 properly covered up, and a second section that's big enough for the AUG HC. All for £15, a good result as they are usually £60 I'd recommend it even at the full price.
  13. Action Hobbies has a sort-of mint condition AGM MP40 for sale at £65... https://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/products/agm-mp40-used/ It needs the ARL re-installed in the gearbox and then it ought to shoot ok
  14. Go Outdoors have a sale on ... Link to sale page so that's a good shout. There are some nice looking boots that are cheap (£50-70) and will look respectable outside of a pew-pew scenario, so yeah might take a wander to try some on. These look very nice for £69 and even inspired this as a review - poetic, you might say even a bit Haiku-like "Very comfortable. That good. I bought 4 pairs. For future. I have tried many boots. For the price. Brillllant." Three L's in "briliant". So instead of mentioning cherry blossoms, he's channelled a bit of Fast Show instead.
  15. Mil-Tec's got a shout for being good value... these multicam ones for £62 at Amazon (so easily returnable if they don't fit) might be worth a go https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mil-Tec-Mens-Boots-Multicam-multicam/dp/B00DSOJOI4/ref=sr_1_6
  16. We had a thread about boots not too long didn't we? I can't remember the recommendations for light-weight (i.e. "CQB sensible") boots, they're what I'm in the market for now... edit: Here's the thread and here are the lightweight AKU boots I'm gonna buy
  17. You're quite right it was Quake 2. And it wasn't really an Uzi as such, it was just "machine gun". But it looked like an Uzi from the PoV, so that's how I thought of it
  18. The Uzi in Quake, I think it was the first gun to have some semblance of real recoil that was controllable in a game? If have to play it again to be sure though. But I certainly enjoyed playing with it.
  19. Does it come with a magazine? If you've put the stock from this on to a Cyma, then presumably they're fully interchangeable? (Cyma stocks seems to be relatively common)
  20. Bah humbug. I bought a tap bit set to open up the front mounting hole on my M14 so I could properly fit the Aliexpress scope rail thing on to it.... turns out I have M4/5/6 and it looks like I need an M5.5 Damn it. Anyway that's the small fly in the ointment of life, which I'm sure I'll sort out.. next problem is I noticed my bolt hold open catch was no longer working. And when I was inspecting it, it fell off the rifle! So I now have a short pin, the actual catch itself... and that's it. I rather suspect there was a spring involved in the system which ought to have kept the catch in enough tension, but that's gone walkies. Again, I might be able to find something in my Box Of Bits, but was there anything else? Even when the catch was still in place, it didn't seem to actually hold the bolt open, however I manipulated it
  21. https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/double-eagle-m906c-ar15-rifle-with-falcon-system-in-black.html That's what I've got, and apart from the spring going a bit limp after a few game days (easily replaced for a tenner), it's a champ!
  22. Tokyo Marui AK47-S Yup, still got it, still shoots (though not feeding very reliably on full auto), currently wearing a set of Cyma tactical polymer grip / handguard and a stubby grip, as the original plastic handguard was a bit creaky. Honestly can't remember how long ago I bought it, it could be as far back as 2001 or so It's still a cool gun, and light and small enough it'll maybe come back from the "retirement home" (my loft) once I start playing CQB
  23. Wow, just read @Emergencychimps post there. I'd add the cautionary note that I've never had any of the first set of awesome experiences, but rather more of the bullet-proof teens in joggers... and yet I'm still "gripped" (and indeed "sorted", for Fast Show aficionados) by the damned thing. If you like the idea of messing around with military stuff on the cheap (relatively speaking!) then there's fun to be had even when you're not actually pew-pewing at people. I've got a collection of guns that have me given me pleasure in spite of the fact I've only fired a few hundred rounds through 'em in the back garden since May... I'm easily pleased, it seems. Anyway, enjoy yourself
