I use a SADF M83 chest rig. It holds 6 mags plus has a couple of other pouches, they're well made and lightweight. The only downside I can think of is that they're designed to take 7.62 mags so the m4 mags might be a bit small

From what I've been told empty mags were chucked inside your half zipped up smock. Dropping empty mags was a surefire way of getting a major bollocking and beasting

I guess not many here were in the game before all the cheap Chinese stuff was around. £20 to £30 for a magazine and getting a gun new for less than £200 was a bargain
