Thedadoodle got a reaction from Mels in Load-Out / Loadout Picture topic
So I run Flecktarn with a tan rig. I honestly dont mind it...in fact I like it. However, my brother made some comments on how they dont work as one is tan. Is it as really as bad as he makes it out?

They had them, but they've gone to the world's worst duct tape now because so many folk walked off site with the armbands. Area-66 were selling armbands but have stopped now because they've had a few walk-offs as well.
I've still got gunk residue from the Biohazard tape on my tacticool beige base layer, thus the desire to find an alternative, ideally at less than £5 per arm per colour.
I have of course lashed up some bands from red and blue electrical tape and spare stick-on velcro, but they're pretty gnarly even by my bodging standards, so I've got some 50mm coloured hook-n-loop tape on the way, which should go round each arm twice and give about 75mm / 3" of coverage. £6.35 for 1m each of red, blue and yellow is about as low as I could chisel the cost.

Cool.
I've got a celestron astro master but it gets very little use now.
I've seen the rings of Saturn 🪐and the moons of jupiter and the sea of tranquillity and that'll do me lol

No way! Haha in August I got my Brother a Celestron telescope. He is already telling me about what lenses and what not he needs to see more haha. I love this stuff.

Ain't that the truth.
Last Christmas I gave my son a telescope. He's now into astrophotography and has a set up that nasa want to borrow. £300 pounds on a 75mm dia filter to pick out hydrogen alpha gas in the wizard nebula billions of miles away. I'll stick to my 2x flip to side scope lol

Thedadoodle reacted to Rogerborg in Sniper and DMR Single and Double Band.
It does make a lot of sense, and I've been recommending to my local site that they tape-mark DMRs in particular as otherwise there's no way for marshals and players to tell in game. I could run a lonnnng M4 at 1.1J, alongside a Mk23 pistol and barrel extended/silencer running at over 1.5J, and how are they supposed to know which one needs to respect a MED and ROF limit?
(Segues into rant about Mk23s and CO2 pistols...)

Thedadoodle got a reaction from Mad-Al in Cyma Svu
So today is the day the trigger was pulled. I am now a proud owner of a CYMA SVU. Managed to find one second hand for a good price. Got hold of a 1.25 -5x Visionking sight. Got to admit, I thought I preferred it in tan until I got the scope attached.
Game day on the 9th and start seeing what work, if any needs doing.

must admit i'm curious myself.
i presume it's gonna be a longer stroke cylinder (like an sr25), but internally the cyma stuff ain't too shabby.
hop unit might be a fun one, combat union make an svd hop unit although whether this is for the cyma pattern or some other variant i don't know, if it does fit the cyma then that'd yeild an aftermarket nozzle too.
i think (read: assume) @Asomodai will have picked one up in his quest to own all the bullpups so maybe he might have some more specific info.
tbh for a dmr platform, assuming it takes the combat union hop/nozzle i'd probably just change the piston head for the air seal, bump up the spring (although it might be pretty close from factory) and a new barrel/bucking/nub (probably my usual pdi/macaron/omega combo) and wire in a warfet (which will sort any sluggish response) then feed it some good .48's
