    DE old model
    m9 old model
    glock17
    glock18c
    g26
    hicapa
    1911
    DE new model
    sig226
    detonics
    fn57
    uspc
    px4
    m9 new style

From what I gathered from it there was a long standing issue with the guy that got banned just being a loud mouth and persistently annoying the owner (Andy) and staff. When the banning came about the player then tried to make it that Andy didn't like speedsofters or their choice of kit (which in the video Andy makes abundantly clear that isn't the issue). I think there have been a few instances of the player spouting off on the internet and Andy had just finally had enough.

To my understanding any site can refuse entry for whatever reason they like, doesn't mean people have to like it or understand it. Goes back to mustang being banned from sites he hasn't played or has only played once, the way you present yourself especially in a public forum (facebook, youtube and the like) can have adverse effects and people need to start realizing that.

There’s the tricky area of liability too. If the spoutings were libellous, the site owner or admin can be held as the publisher and jointly sued with the spouter.

Also, who wants to tune into something they’ve made and love to have it wrecked by someone they hate? Rules are rules but if you run a pub and someone really gets on your tits, you just tell them to fuck away off and darken someone else’s urinals.

Think of it like dropping into Normandy in Band of Brothers, just link up with others and take it from there. Or hang out cosplaying shrubbery, both are totally good options.

    Good points all.

You need to think about what the statute of limitations is on this, does having a 3x great grandfather who fought at Salamanca mean nobody can wear an original Rifles uniform in a Sharpe cosplay or a grandad at Passchendale or dad who was on Sword beach at D-Day +5?

Offence can be found in a lot of places nowadays, what if you had mates who worked on CP jobs in Iraq 20 years ago, does that mean 5.11 keks, polo shirts and Oakleys are off limits?

Don't pretend to be someone you are not and don’t wear anything you think might upset someone who worked hard to get it and you’ll be grand.

I’m pretty sure that someone, somewhere, will be offended at airsofters wearing surplus issue kit but fuck that guy, his opinion is worthless.

This is very true. I run an MWS with anywhere between 4 and 10 mags on my plate carrier (4 for more milsim events, up to 10 for walk on days with long games against loads of spray and pray kids with Multiple 500 Round hi-caps).

The weight of a 10 mag load out pretty much kills any of the chinasoft plate carriers in short order. I ended up with a Warrior Assault System carrier which while not the most modern and fashionable cut is very well built and is pretty cost effective.

I believe Warrior do a JPC alike carrier, although it won’t be a complete clone. It will be well made and will easily cope with all your Airsoft needs for as long as you carry on playing, but is likely to still cost you several hundred pounds (which is still a bucket load cheeper than a Crye original) but looks pricy compared to some £50 thing from eBay.

No, they're on two different universes.

I'm by no means a stitch counter or anything, but (ironically) the stitching on RS/quality gear is miles ahead of the repros. Literally.
Double/triple stitching on stress areas, whereas you're lucky if the clone has a decent single stitch.
Molle panels are aligned and spaced evenly, clones often sponsor rows that close in together as if it was a friday night job.
While it's true that some repros use genuine material (TMC and some Emerson items), it is also true that material alone isn't a sign of quality. It's how it's been put together that, imo, makes or break a piece of kit. You can have the best material ever made, but if it's assembled by monkeys it'll still be worse than the cheap nylon assembled by a professional tailor.

With that out of the way, airshit replicas are perfectly serviceable by airsofters, the example is the JPC, 99% of the JPCs seen at a field are clones. Some look OK, others look shit (like my Emerson that I wore twice and it's currently sitting in the closet).

I do agree that the quality went up a lot from 10 years ago, but saying it's 90% of the real steel is just wrong.

The quality of all the Chinasoft gear these days,  is 90% as good as the real gear. Looking at everything I have bought.

I wish they have existed 10 years ago when I bought all my real Cyre, HSGI, Eagle and Tactical Tailor gear. Would have saved enough for several extra guns.

The semi-garbage blatter can also be a good learning platform for teaching yourself techery. I bought literally the cheapest AR platform I could find for that very purpose. It’s a little tuition station that I don’t mind doing harm to that will also be there if I have a mechanical failure on a game day.

And, if my long guns go down together, there’s always a pyro-only afternoon to enjoy.

Not talking about batteries, think gearbox issues, some of which such as piston teeth breaking is fairly common,  & not immediately fixable, so yeah I'd pick up a backup AR, or any other platform that takes AR mags, maybe a bullpup, such as a PDR-C/FN2000/UAR/SA80, as an alternative type of backup, but that has its strengths as maybe a cqb primary ?

Ah I see that's where we see things slightly differently; walting and re-enacting through a faithful representation are different things in my view.

Now, walting, I absolutely couldn't stand for.

But yes, in reality there's no need for it, but for some it's part of the immersive experience; would you object to someone wearing a 101st Airborne Division flash on a 2nd World War outfit, for example? Is that as bad as a Para lid on a Goose Green outfit?

Unfortunately there are some that will take offense. Full stop. Either because they put a lot of hard work in to getting "badged", some because of their experiences, & sometimes their personal losses while serving.
thing is, irrespective of my regimental loyalty, there was a term often bandied about between regiments, CRAPHAT, essentially a derogatory term against anyone from a different regiment than your own, & I fucking hated it, I can honestly say I never met anyone I didn't like from other regiments, even some of the para twats, it's not their fault, they've been brainwashed lol, so I guess I probably wouldn't like seeing someone walting it up or being a dick in any genuine Brit army insignia, they've all got massive history & commitment.
anyway, why would you need insignia to play airsoft, it's about shooting plastic at each other, & nothing else, if people want to wear kit to that level, join up, regs or reserves, or maybe a reenactment group & show it the respect it deserves ?
