  1. I get both sides of the argument here and I understand why some sites just use fps and ask the player what BB weight they are using. One of my sites does this and then they just compare the fps speed with the bb weight. If you have 100 players checking in then the last thing you want is the chrono time to take forever. Our sport relies on honesty but let's face it you will get those players who will inevitably tell porkies coz they consider themselves entitled. At least I know I'm being honest and that's what matters.

Daves custom in Farnham - placed it a few months back

Fire Support had about 20 odd on preorder. They all went within 2 weeks if that. I was on the fence about whether I wanted another recoil. First world problems eh? 🤷🏻‍♂️

  3. It’s the first breakdown material I’ve seen and it’s pretty detailed at that. I’ll use chrome later and translate it. good shout!!

What’s interesting is the blowback mechanism is kinda similar to that of the SCAR which makes sense I guess. However by doing that, have Marui been forced to have different dimensions to the real thing? And more importantly how robust is that HK slap gonna be!!

The electronics/mosfet will be a point of curiosity. Can you program anything etc? And that hop with all that Marui magic? How good is it? I’m sure it will be spot on but time will tell.

    All good stuff though :)

  4. Budget aside, the TM HK 417 was born to be a DMR. Stick in a longer tight bore barrel, change the hop rubber and change the spring and spring guide and voila, 450 FPS. Of course the auto fire must be disabled but that easy to do. Either modify the selector plate as per @Rogerborg above or a Gate Titan. It goes without saying the stock TM gears will go at some point and maybe the bushes too. Essentially it becomes a money pit. But hey you can pop a zit on the nose of a speed softer at 80m.

If you don't have much luck finding a replacement part, I could take a crack at knocking something up in CAD that could be 3D printed?

I was gonna say exactly as you speedy in regard to this. There must be peeps on here who could knock up a 3D printed part?

Hey I got a reply from Gunsmodify’s customer support (wrote to them earlier this spring..)

They said that they are planning to release their Pmag in September ( this year )

PMAGS 🙌🏼  The only question is will they be as good as the Marui mags?

Sling point should be fine. Its well made. I have the FDE/bronze/RAL version myself. In terms of the sight placement, you are correct to place it further back. Ideally youll have it as far back as possible. Im a military/LEO firearms instructor stateside for background. Having the sight further back allows your eyes to focus though it, as opposed to on it. Similar to how your mind ignores your nose, despite the average schnozz being within view. Moving it forward makes it harder for your mind to ignore the physical sight and focus on your target - superimposing the dot (or circle plex in this case) over it. Furthermore, the G33 and G43 magnifiers tend to have relatively poor focal points, meaning they usually work poorly if not very close to the eye. Its better on the real ones, but not by much. Thats why most people skip magnifiers and instead of or systems like short dots or ELCANs which can be adjusted from 1x to whatever is desired (or 4x for the ELCAN). Ive mostly moved to ELCANs myself on both my airsoft replicas and my RS if Im not just using a dedicated 1x like an Eotech, Aimpoint, or Sig sight. Youll generally see sights put that far forward cause it looks cool in the movies, or I know some comp guys prefer it claiming they can acquire the sights faster - which is pointless if you have the built in muscle memory you should have from practicing with your gun.

That’s a good point you’ve made about where to place the red dot and how muscle memory plays a part in acquiring the target when you look through the red dot. I only use real steel optics on my replicas and the placement varies depending on the sight and furniture attached. If I’m using my 3xmag then my T1 is above the Magwell on the upper receiver as that’s only place I can fit it. If I’m using no magnification then the optic is closer to the back of the receiver.

@Belphe On the topic of sling point, the rear sling point on the TM is very good and strong. It’s made of steel. However to i’d also recommended a front RSA coz sometimes you just want to carry the rifle in a two point configuration. In fact I do that more than in single point mode.

I don't know about you guys but... When you get a new Plate Carrier or a Vest and the wife says " don't you have one already ? ". Makes me wanna leave her...

I had a brown box arrive yesterday  with guess what? Another PC. But you need a different pc for each loadout right? Or have I got this wrong? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oops, you just reminded me I have another 8 mags in a PC that I used at the last skirmish that I had forgotten about. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I thought I had too many at 8, two of which are still in their wrapping unused. 😂

  10. That’s a good way of seeing how a lo cap will affect your game. Just to give you some additional perspective, I took the MWS out for a spin on my last outing  (woodland) and ended up playing for about 4 hrs with it. I went through about 360 bbs. Probably more than I should have but it was damn good fun. The rest of the day was with the PTW and that’s just entirely a different beast.

yes I have … but it’s not good news, I cannot get anywhere with the original seller (avoid airsoft storm on Amazon, very condescending tbh).

I have been talking with AW on Facebook… but apparently they don’t have any …. Which seems odd to me 🤷‍♂️ … see what happens I guess

WE make an exact copy or clone of the AW drum ( or vice versa) and I hazard to guess the internals are the same If not similar. May be worth giving them a shout?
