  1. Chaps! I’m back! Well kinda 😂

Took a long break from Airsoft but figured I’d dust off the MWS first. Last time I used it was about 2.5 yrs ago maybe longer! After Nurpol gate I mothballed the MWS 🙈. Madness I know….

So, i guess I’ll just need to clean and lube her up in the usual  places right? Answers on a postcard! 😂

You're absolutely right about the evolution of how people consume their info but with more and more social media platforms cracking down on firearms and replicas it'll be interesting to see how things develop. Personally, I really like the forum format and I would hope we'd see a swing back to that but I'm not sure that generations raised on social media will want that.

Aye, I agree there, sadly social media platforms have killed off most of the good old forums. Who knows where all this will lead…. ?

  3. Ahhhh shame that, it was a good site back in the day but sadly things like FB groups and other sites just killed it off at the end of the day. People forget that these sites ain’t free to run so donations are needed to keep it going. Same as this site I guess.

Having fielded my MWS at the great RIFT Airsoft REDCON-2 site at the weekend I found that the old TM hop rubber was on its way out and my GunsModify nozzle damaged (probably from a shattered tracer BB earlier in the year) and this led to a couple of gas dumps at in opportune moments 😂 I also noticed some drift to the left beyond 40m. By 60m it was missing the torso sized target without some serious aiming off!

I fitted a Maple Leaf bucking which gave a better air seal so dropped in the spare AG v2 nozzle and NPAS to offset the now very spicy FPS. I have some more GM and G&P nozzles if needed but the RATech NPAS are such a pain to adjust and not that consistent. Once cooler weather is here I’ll go back to the GM fixed set up.

To keep the hop perfectly vertical I added a 0.1mm AEG shim to the outside left of the hop unit, between it and the outer barrel / brass collar. This stopped it rotating a fraction when snugging the barrel nut up. Now I just need to get to a range with 60m+ but it certainly looks perfectly level.

Tested all my mags and FPS was 278 - 292 over the 7 mags, with each mag within +/-2fps on 3 shot of 0.28g Warhead BBs

Mag #5 was the spiciest so marked that one and will chrono using it 👍

Brings back memories when I foolishly used Nuprol bbs in my MWS and they shattered and royally screwed up the MWS! I should have sent Nuprol a bill for repairs ! That reminds me I need to check the rubber as I’ve not used the MWS for over 13 months. I know I know.  Bad bad MWS owner 😂😂

    Howdy folks :),

I've bought the HPA adapter for the MWS, what uprades would you guys recomend for the platform or should it be fine as is for the most part? I only really do CQB so I don't need it to shoot the other side of the a forest.

HPA’ing a MWS? Good lord man! Wash you mouth out with soap young man! Failing that a swig or two of whiskey!

This is really good advice, and looking back, is exactly how I ended up with an AEG as back-up to my MWS.

That’s actually a good way of looking at having a backup. Make sure it’s another primary coz let’s face it you don’t really want to be playing with a rif which is cheap and cheerful and which just ruins the rest of your day. Of course as it’s already been mentioned it’s also down to one’s financial standing and I appreciate times ain’t easy for many folk.

This will definitely help. Having the source of gas warmer will help it condense in the mag properly allowing a fuller fill.

I too have just learned something today! Never really thought about the temperature differential between a gas bottle and the magazine. Now i have to figure out a way of vigorously rubbing the gas bottles in the safe zone before I fill up the mags. Although I hazard to guess I may get some strange looks :D

  7. I had an unfortunate episode with Nuprol BBs smashing in my MWS which then caused a BB train wreck causing it to bugger up! Luckily I took one of my Marui recoils with me   and then continued playing well into the afternoon...  Moral of the story... always have a backup when it comes to GBBRs..

  8. Years ago there used to be a woodland site off the A508 J15 somewhere between Stoke Bruerne and Yardley Gobion. It was a friendly site from what I recall and a good bunch of people....  These days it's Finmere for me but that's still a 40mins drive... I'd be interested depending on dates of course....

@AlphaBear bro, think you got that completely round the wrong way. Mosfet gives you the trigger response and protection on semi, you don’t really notice on auto unless you play with settings. Ngrs mags obviously have a low cap switch too, or you can just pump that speed loader 7 or 8 to put 30 or so rounds in those bad boy.

What I meant is that as long as you don’t spam on semi you don’t really need a mosfet. But yes, agreed generally the mosfet helps hands down with many things but it’s really not necessary. I have 3 titans in 3 of my recoils and the other 3 are without mosfet. The 50 shades below does not have a Titan and if I’m being honest I prefer the feel of the original so called mechanical trigger. Although, I do appreciate the hairline trigger on the mosfet when my fingers have frostbite lol

  10. Being an owner of a number of TM recoils, a MWS and a Systema, if I’m being honest my recoils are my to-go rifs. I even bought a 50 shades of tan 416 to do the so called SEAL team loadout but I’ve come to realise a black rif is more preferable to my loadout style.

Having said that the tan 416 with tan PMAGS actually looks the dogs danglies.

Yes lad!!! Gun day is fun day.

Fairly comprehensive list there pal. Only thing I did after not using mine for around three months, was run each mag through the gun to make sure there's nothing sinister going on.

Which gas you going to run? UltraAir or Abbey Predator? Those are your go-to gases IIRC.

I’m gonna stick UltraAir into three mags and Abbey pred (red bottle) in the other three. And then see if there’s any difference. I’ll run 0.3 G&G’s as the ammo as I’ve accumulated quite a horde of them. The 0.4’s I’ll leave to the TM 417.

  12. Gonna be dusting off my MWS after it’s been in storage for over 8 months. I know shocking. Me of all people should know better. Luckily it was greased up and the mags had abbey maintenance gas shoved into them.

    So cleaning regime.
    1. Check mags for leaks.
    2. Check mag rubber dingy dong  gas router to make sure all is well.
3 Check the piston rubber for cracks and dryness. FYI gents if you don’t lube it, it’s gonna dry up and crack. Have a pink tub of lube which I keep forgetting what it’s called.

    4. Barrel clean

    5. Gun oil all metal friction on friction parts.
    6. Check the hop rubber. Should be fine. But still I’ll have a look.

    Have I missed anything?

I can't understand why TM haven't dropped their MWS mags into a P-Mag or E-Mag shell. Maybe one day.

Think I'll pick up some of the GM ones and grab myself some addition o-rings!

    Licensing issues I expect.
