Back in the day I had three of these, 225bhp was a lot of power back then. I have fond memories of my black 3.2 litre (250bhp) one with a volcano red interior... the amount of PIMP jokes I got from my work mates was non-stop.... oh and the obligatory hairdresser jokes too... lol . The Quattro system on these was an absolute beast too. The car literally stuck to the road as if it was on rails..... The shape of the MK1 TT was iconic and a design statement at the time... sadly when the MK2's came out the curves were lost for the angular and straight edges which in my opinion was a let down in design... For those who don't know, Silverstone used to have a bunch of MK1 1.8T sport TT's which you could use as part of their track day events. They were such good fun to drive around the track thats for sure!

Ok so I was wrong, this time it was the auto sear. Or atleast i think it is

Is that the auto sear or what's left of it there?

    EDIT: Valve Knocker Sear apparently

Does this means that the Cow Cow complete hammer kit set would be needed regardless? I was going to buy the CTN hammer from airsoftworld as a backup but may not bother now.... Might swell buy the Cow Cow set...

As far as the trigger box goes I think it’s pretty good, definitely reliable above all else, but to make it work nice you really do have to work through a good 10,000 shots to allow all the parts in the trigger mech time to work harden.

Only then is it really worth stripping it down, de’burring and radiusing all edges, reassemble with real gun oil and you’ll find you then have a consistent wall, break and reset.

There will still be a small amount of creep but on the whole it is very satisfying to operate from that day forward 😊

10,000 shots seems like a life time with a MWS :P

I've only shot about 1000 rounds through mine in the whole of 2021 ;)

And it's all stock save Dave's brass nub and HSB...

You were absolutely correct, that’s where the little chap has come from, not the MWS at all, but the speed loader.

Actually come out of the new speed loader. As below; old to the rear of the photo, new to the front, o-ring missing to the front one ☝️

Thank you all, what a great help, I can now go and let of a few mags with confidence I am not doing any damage. 😊😏😁

You’re welcome matey.  Another happy customer :)

At least we figured it out. The funny thing is that out of my two Marui XL speed loaders I also lost the o ring out of the newer one.  Truth be told you don’t need that o ring as the bbs still feed fine and don’t fall out of the feed tube either.

Oh one more thing. Don’t use Nuprol bbs in the MWS. They will shatter. I had a very very very bad episode with them.

  6. Ahhhh I recognise that MWS. The chap you got it from is pucker and a true gent. And he’s kit is well looked after. From the spec it’s got a stock Marui bolt and the picture confirms this. There is no way an o ring could have gotten into the inner barrel.

Unless???? Now this idea is actually real and happened to me. I think Ive figured it out. What speed loader are you using? I use a Marui XL speed loader and it has an o ring in the bb tube that feeds into the mag. I suspect that somehow the o ring got detached (happened to me) and got pushed into the magazine along with some more bbs. You may have pushed a tad too hard to fill the mag with bbs. I am sure that’s how the o ring got into your MWS!! Taaaaa Daaaaa! And just for good measure check your speed loader. I bet it will be missing that o ring.

    Hi Ed, not sure ?

I need to get it out into the garden in the day light to see how it’s behaving I would guess, only collected it Saturday and I didn’t have time to have a play over the weekend. Didn’t know if anyone had come across this before. Running it on red predator gas, but if it has not been used for some time, perhaps the o ring has failed. Just need to work out where it has come from, as you say, take her apart, one way to learn I suppose, 😏

thanks for the prompt reply 👍

There should be no O ring ejected into that barrel whatsoever. You do have an O ring over the hop chamber but there is no way that can enter the inner barrel. Impossible. This is the first time I’ve ever heard of an O ring in the barrel to be honest. Now do you know if the nozzle valve is a G&P npas valve? If so I think there may also be an O ring on it.  The only thing I can think of no matter how bizarre is that the G&P o ring has disintegrated and somehow remnants of it have entered the barrel. Again this is pure speculation.

First proper skirmish with the MWS today and I was impressed and more than a little happy with every trigger pull. Today was unseasonably warm for Nov so green gas was working well and I even managed to score a few hits during the morning. Feeling I could tweak the hop a bit more, I went to the range over lunch, put a mag through her and was very happy. Slapped another mag in, squeezed off two shots then pffft. Bolt neither fully forward or back, lots of manipulating the forward assist to get it far enough forward to separate the receiver, and there it was - the spring in the extractor bent to buggery. At least I have a spare.

Bloomin heck what the buggery happened there? Which spring are you talking about again? Is it the bolt spring or the smaller spring at the top of the bolt?

Took the MWS out today for it's first game since I've fitted the new Brass nub. I found I wasn't able to reach out as far as my MP7 GBBR.

Tried .36 and .32. running predator ultra, at 250 fps with the .36 neither were working well with max hop on.

Is there something I'm missing/not doing to achieve at least the range of my MP7? Everything is stock inside, except for said brass nub.

I have a prommy barrel inside mine... a sixG brass nub and a HSB buffer.... I find the range pretty good (not as good as my upgraded KoA recoil though) of course it's dependent on temperature and the gas you're using.

Having a few issues off the bat!

Firstly, the finish on some of the parts is really bad, should it be? E.g. fire selector, castle nut...

Next up, the mag release is seemingly getting stuck on the mags and is a two finger job to actuate.

Finally, has anyone managed to get the mags to load with a vanguard speedloader? Is there a technique I'm missing?

    or switch

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the club..... The fire selector switch finish is pants on them all... Mine was kinda the same and I'm sure other peoples are too... The castle nut is hit and miss though.. I suspect your's just got tightened with a tad more vigour... believe you me if you need to tighten it with s Marui spanner it will mark anyway.... it's just the nature of the pot metal that Marui use,..

TM MWS, Stock bucking, SixG nub and buffer spacer, 410mm Barrel + Revanchist High Flow Nozzle. Otherwise stock. Tested with .45's:

    357.8 (fps)

    354.5

    355.1

    354.3

    355.3

    355.7

    354.9

    357.1

    1-2 seconds between shots.

    Average of 2.65-2.66J

Got an average of 350 with .48's, similar consistency with one deviation of +10 FPS

Non UK user so higher FPS is legal where I'm at, that being said I have the stock nozzle and a Dynamic precision nozzle on hand to help tame that down a bit for DMR uses.

Why am I sharing this? Because I am SUPER impressed with the consistency. Its on par with my SRS using the same ammo.

Crikey! Those FPS figures with 0.48’s are scary high. I would not like to be on the end of one of those that’s for sure lol. By the way, what gas are you using and at what temperature was your test done at?

Hello, got to use my stock rifle for the second time this weekend. I was running .30s and painfully noticed a lack of range even at full hop.

Is there a general consensus on what internal upgrades should be done as a minimum? Barrel, nub, rubber etc

Ive filtered back a few pages on here, saw some mention of a brass nub (six gun smithing i assume).

On the topic of hop rubbers there are a few GBBR ones you can use but the general consensus is the standard Marui hop rubber works well with the SIX-G nub. This is the combo I run with time and time again...

Just looked..   airsoftworld are out of stock for the hammer...

The search goes on...  (though im in no rush as i wont be going airsoft for a couple of months so i can save some money)

    Hey Spartan,

Looks like airsoftworld have a new CNC hammer in made by CTM and it's £14.95. They say it's quote "full CNC'd steel meaning it's rock solid and won't break unlike other 'alloy' made counterparts.  It's even QPQ hardened (Google it :)) for extra durability and corrosion resistance".

FINALLY took delivery of mine today after over a months wait (original supplier didn't have enough)

Airsoft Zone UK where able to supply me with a MP5 and 4 extra mid caps

Took it to the range today to test it out and I was very impressed seemed to have similar range as my other NGRS rifles despite the AEP hop up and short inner barrel

    Another snippet of info that might be useful;

TM 250mm barrel > CrazyJet 250mm barrel gains you about 10-15fps.

Now back to your scheduled program…

I actually use a Crazy Jet barrel in my MK23 and goodness me it's frightening how good of an upgrade that little tube is...

  17. I read somewhere that ASG manufacture their own BBs too. It was on some blog somewhere but then again anyone can write a blog eh and claim whatever. In terms of how many OEMs there are, 3 has always been the so called number floating around as @Adolf Hamstermentioned above. One in Japan, one or two in Taiwan (BLS and ???) and now maybe ASG in Europe. Also different finishes are applied to different brands which correlates to better performance and higher prices which would explain why these few OEMs can produce different lines of BB quality.

  18. 1 minute ago, DerDer said:

That was an interesting video as regards the Bio BBs. There seemed to be a broad selection that was decent, a few that were worse and a handful that were better. There certainly seemed to be less performance variation than the non bio equivalents video.  Possible fewer OEMs actually cranking out the Bios or a degree of consolidation in the firms producing the ammo? Was intrigued by how well the Ares BBs did as recall a thread where a user had some dodgy specimens among his bag.

What I find complicates it further is both different brands and their weight performance. Had some companies where the lighter (0.25 & 0.28) ammo performed very well. Went up to their 0.30g offering and had jams and fliers galore.  Have settled on G&G 0.28g BBs for support guns.  Still trialing different stuff for rifles.

My thoughts exactly, it’s not an exact science. The Nuprols which buggered up my MWS and got chopped in my recoils were 0.28’s. Yet i contacted Eagle6 and KoA and they swear by Nuprol 0.30’s saying they’ve never had issues with them  The only conclusion is either I had a dodgy batch or the 0.28g weight just has issues.🤷🏻‍♂️

I concur with G&G 0.28’s. They are damn good and use them in everything except in the 417. Incidentally,  I have a few packs of 0.3 G&G too but they are grey in colour. No one can see those coming 😂. I use them exclusively in the PTW although it can lift up to 0.4 easy but then it gets expensive 😂

  19. 1 hour ago, Rogerborg said:

Perhaps not the most scientastic or replicable, but data points.

Actually AATV and Clearwater did some Bio BB tests at Inrange just recently. The video is online too. Makes for some interesting viewing. I’d skip towards the end though for their conclusions (just saying).

Oooooh on a side note, the NGRS MP5 looked good too. As did the upgraded NGRS MK18 and also the MWS and the TM AKM. Oh blimey I didn’t realise they used all TM’s for their testing. Well there’s a coincidence if ever there was one 🤷🏻‍♂️😂
