It's a shame that there is no real benefit to using a LMG over a AR with a drum mag. I wonder what sites could do to try and encourage them.

Difficult to do at regular skirmish, because skirmish is the very casual, open-ended way of playing airsoft where you can largely play how you want with what you want within the rules, and I don't think that skirmish should be putting limits like no drum mags on an AR
However, I go to filmsim events and there are other events that say only support guns are allowed drum mags or they limit everyone apart from support guns to semi-auto only, or do both! I personally enjoy it when it's semi-only for everyone apart from support guns, as it makes support guns very useful and also I think that too many airsofters use full auto as a crutch because they can't shoot very well; accuracy through volume! However, I don't think we should be making skirmish semi-only because it's skirmish.

Has anyone had much experience ordering from WGC recently? Theyve the only place thats got the mags I need instock at a reasonable price (£38 vs £68 in UK retailer), have checked and even with shipping it is still considerably cheaper.

I have spent way too much on Aliexpress this week...

Yeah, with the outdoor sale that was on this week I made about 12 orders as well. Got some small sling bags (4 different ones in different colours), two new radio pouches, a new baofeng, a better bowman headset, new gloves, some scrim net, a helmet setup (helmet, earmors, arc mounts), and the big ticket items are an LPVO for my m14 and a nice mid-range scope for my m700 that cost about as much as every other item combined
No more buying for me. That was more than enough for this month

What's people's genuine thoughts on the aap pistols? Thinking of one as a side arm to my dmr
-
I love mine and both of mine are still going strong with stock hammer components, but I only use semi-auto. I've upgraded the hop rubber and fitted an h-plate in both of mine and they fling .32s like a dream. I plan on getting the wankergun parts for them soon(ish), but keeping them green gas as I don't like HPA. Probably my go-to sniper sidearm at the moment.

Anyone else is disappointed in IWA 2024 with all airsoft releases and big plus that G&g LevAR seems like an April fools joke...

Side arm options for a sniper/dmr player. I am done with the mk23 as the mags just keep dying on me even when i have done all the sealant etc etc.
-
I haven't done the silicone sealant around the base. I try to take them apart as little as possible because it's a faff getting the baseplate back on. I use the regular nuprol 2.0 gas in mine, so a bit more lubricant in than the ultra-air, though I do like ultra-air as well. I just never leave ultra-air in my mags as I've heard it's dryer. One of my mags was leaking when I bought it, but the o-ring was crap so I replaced it with an o-ring from one of my (many) leaky TM mags and it worked like a charm. Haven't had any issues since.

My first choices would be:
TM Hi-Capa - hicapahub.co.uk is a hell of a drug. Can build a hicapa to do basically anything and they shoot well out of the box
AAP-01 - Has a fun switch and highly customisable, but needs a few upgrades to get it good (and not eventually blow itself up)
KWA mac11 - Haha gun go brrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttt. Can get a SMG thigh holster that fits it well, or a shoulder rig.
I've always been an advocate for GBB sidearms anyway, as most of the time when I need my pistol I need the extra firepower that the squishy double action trigger of the mk23 just doesn't give; if I want to go undetected and they're within my MED, I tend to just go to ground and let them pass. When it comes to GBB sidearms, it's basically just "what TM pistol do you like best?"
If you want to keep with the NBB, the TM Bodyguard 380 or LCP2 are solid options. Get the Hadron TDC upper for it and it'll shoot with decent accuracy within your MED, plus it's nice and small. Alternatively, for mk23 mags I've had a lot more success using the clone mags with TM feed lips and Nineball routers (the clone feed lips and routers are ass). They don't leak as much and any leaks that have happened I've managed to fix fairly easily.

Am now the latest member of the MWS owners club.
I really need to stop taking lunch breaks, they're expensive.

Has the bubble burst on the AAP-01? seeing a lot for sale recently
-
I haven't noticed it, but it's possible. People originally thought they were great budget pistols as they were only £90 or so, but then people realised that they need a load of fairly pricey upgrades because they eventually explode, making them more expensive than just buying a TM and being done with it. Also, full-auto gas guns can be temperamental in our lovely climate, so using the fun-switch isn't always possible. Maybe people are realising this now?
I find it amusing because I'm actually looking at completing my AAP build and potentially getting the folding stock and a vertical grip/flashlight combo and maybe some extended mags and having it be like a small SMG for a sniper sidearm

Airsoft's really kicking my ass lately. Last outing I had had my CYMA plat SR-25 die for no reason, alongside my DE UTR-45 [the SR-25 has randomly revived itself the other day but for how long i don't know, UTR still dead], then my WE G18c exploded it's internals and is now light-striking with the new steel replacement ones, and then today my VFC USP9 which has been rock-steady since I bought it as my first rif has shit the bed too - the fuck is going on? Lmao
-
Was considering ordering a VFC aeg. Violently spilled a cup of coffee on my laptop. Took it as a sign not to proceed.
-
Just booked my Operation Thunder tickets for the weekend after this.
Bloody excited just thinking about going. Since I'm training pretty hard at the moment, my black PJs do emulate the pong of a chap whose been in the field for too long a couple of times a week.
Du ban GI!
-
Customs have my parcel, I've filled out all the paperwork and there's no RIF in it... So why do I still feel so anxious? 😂

@EDcase Evike Europe. I was hoping that Evike Europe wouldn't be like the US Evike, which always requires a declaration form to be filled out, but it seems that Evike Europe is the same, even though it's coming from France. It's only a stock and an m700 bolt, but it's stuff that doesn't seem to be stocked anywhere else (m40a3 kit for the m700 and a King Arms adjustable m700 bolt)

Any idea if Warrior drop leg holster accepts pistols with flashlight. Such as FNX-45 or a hi-capa
-
Ah, yeah, my bad. The answer is the same though, for @Lozart's reasoning. It's way too snug to fit a gun with a flashlight on it.

hmmm best bb's to run in a dmr. Geoffs 32 or 36's, ascension research 36's or longbow 36's
-
Argh I hate mk23 mags. Plug one leak, another starts.
-
I tried fixing mine too and they were gas tight for a game day before they sprung a leak again, plus one of my gas tight ones also sprung a leak so I just said "screw it" and gave up on them. Fortunately I have a bunch of STTI mags that have been gas tight for years, so I just swapped the feed lips and gas routers over because the STTI feed lips are wank

Might take a pass at trying to persuade the staff at my local site to allow DMRs to have a 20m MED instead of 30m (1.64J is the power limit). Wish me luck
-
@Rogerborg See, I wouldn't mind that; very much a fan of practicing what I preach, but I started airsoft in a time where we were full-auto-ing each other up close with slightly hot guns (because the chinese clone guns came out of the box too strong and nobody chrono'd back in the mid 00s). I'd even be happy to take it at 1.88J if it meant bringing the power up to that too, but that will never happen at my local site because I think one of the owners hates DMRs and is perfectly fine with literally nobody using one at Worthing.

@Shamal Yeah, and what doesn't help is that there are some repeat offender bolt action users who keep shooting under their MED. I still think 1.64J should be a 20m MED as it's not -that- much harder than 1.1J, but I think it's going to be a fool's errand anyway

If anyone needs one, Bullseye have the Cyma M14 scope mount in stock at the sensible price of £12

Working on my MK23 project, I got it second hand and both mags are leaking. Should I leave bad feedback?
Also does anyone know what are some good upgrades to add to the MK23? I want a longer barrel as a minimum to fit in the suppressor. -

@MusicaNo, you need a VSR style barrel. Are you looking to put it into a carbine kit as a DMR? Running a barrel that long into the suppressor could easily take it over 1.14J thanks to joule creep (I know that the clone mk23s that have an inner barrel extension into their suppressors tend to be pocket DMRs)
Out of stock, but this is the kind of barrel you want:
